      • Research On The Relevance Between Mixed-use Complex and User Behaviour Based On Three-dimensional Spatial Analysis

Zhendong Wang,Yihan Pan,Yi Lu,Xihui Zhou Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2023 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.12 No.1

Under the dual pressure of population growth and land shortage, threedimensional development is the inevitable choice for cities in China. In such a scenario, a mixed-use complex has considerable potential in its realization and research. Based on space syntax and the three-dimensional visibility graph analysis, this paper describes the spatial and functional layout of the Shanghai Super Brand Mall and studies the relationship between spatial visibility and user behaviour through linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. This paper studies three different types of user behaviour, namely, path selection, staying selection, and store selection, and finds that spatial visibility and accessibility have different effects on user behaviour depending on the type and purpose of the activity. This paper reveals the influence of spatial and functional layout on user behaviour and puts forward the corresponding design strategy under the three-dimensional environment.

      • A Trust Game Model and Algorithm for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks

Wang Zhendong,Wang Huiqiang,Zhu Qiang 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.3

The existence of malicious secondary users will bring damage to the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing and spectrum access in cognitive radio networks, so effectively curbing malicious behavior of secondary users become the key to success for cooperative spectrum sensing mechanism. Inspired by economics of repeated game theory, a trust game model and algorithm of distributed cooperative spectrum sensing oriented to malicious secondary users named FRTrust is proposed. In FRTrust, the reputation status is used to describe the performance of a secondary user in cooperative spectrum sensing process. It encourages secondary users to choose positive and honest behavior strategies for greater and long term benefits. Simultaneously, a ‘differentiation’ punishment mechanism is presented to respond malicious behaviors of secondary users. By this way, the ‘first offender’ secondary users and the ‘recidivist' secondary users can be distinguished effectively. If a secondary user departs from the normal times in its life period, it will be punished superimposed. Simulation results show that the FRTrust algorithm can encourage secondary users to participate in spectrum sensing in a cooperative attitude, improve the transaction success ratio of cooperative spectrum sensing, and guarantee the fairness and spectrum access performance for cognitive radio networks.

      • Research on Vertical Space System of Mixed-Use Complex

Wang, Zhendong,Wang, Yinpu Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2015 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.4 No.2

As the predominant mode of vertical urban development in China, mixed-use complexes provide the optimal case for the research of sustainable and vertical urbanism. This paper reviews three typical mixed-use complexes with various vertical space systems in Shanghai via the combination of field observation, questionnaires and software analysis. It then proceeds to determine which vertical space system is most effective for encouraging sustainable vertical urban development from the perspective of spatial efficiency. Finally, it concludes with an evaluation of the relative capabilities of the design features of a mixed-use complex: to create external dimensional-connections, to create multiple internal connections, and to organize overall composite functions.

Joint Decision and Control Strategy for a Class of Nonhomogeneous Markovian Jump Systems with Input Constraints

        Zhendong Wang,Jin Zhu,Wanqing Xie,박준홍 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2014 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.12 No.5

This paper is concerned with the joint decision and control strategy for a class of nonhomogeneous Markovian jump systems subject to input constraints. By assuming the mode transition rate matrix (MTRM) of Markovian jump systems is piecewise homogeneous instead of homogeneous, a higher-level Markov chain represented by the higher-level mode transition rate matrix (HMTRM) is introduced to describe the variation of MTRM. Based on this, taking into account the minimization of system cost, a novel joint decision and control strategy is proposed in the presence of input constraints. This strategy consists of two sections: decisions are applied to the HMTRM such that the occurrence probability of subsystems is adjusted ultimately; next on the basis of altered HMTRM, controller is designed in view of input constraints. In comparison with conventional control method, this strategy not only guarantees the stability of the considered system well, but also decreases the system cost effectively. Numeral examples along with comparisons are put forward to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

The putative polysaccharide synthase AfCps1 regulates Aspergillus fumigatus morphogenesis and conidia immune response in mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages

        Wang Sha,Yuan Anjie,Zeng Liping,Hou Sikai,Wang Meng,Li Lei,Cai Zhendong,Zhong Guowei 한국미생물학회 2021 The journal of microbiology Vol.59 No.1

Aspergillus fumigatus is a well-known opportunistic pathogen that causes invasive aspergillosis (IA) infections with high mortality in immunosuppressed individuals. Morphogenesis, including hyphal growth, conidiation, and cell wall biosynthesis is crucial in A. fumigatus pathogenesis. Based on a previous random insertional mutagenesis library, we identified the putative polysaccharide synthase gene Afcps1 and its paralog Afcps2. Homologs of the cps gene are commonly found in the genomes of most fungal and some bacterial pathogens. Afcps1/cpsA is important in sporulation, cell wall composition, and virulence. However, the precise regulation patterns of cell wall integrity by Afcps1/cpsA and further effects on the immune response are poorly understood. Specifically, our in-depth study revealed that Afcps1 affects cell-wall stability, showing an increased resistance of ΔAfcps1 to the chitinmicrofibril destabilizing compound calcofluor white (CFW) and susceptibility of ΔAfcps1 to the β-(1,3)-glucan synthase inhibitor echinocandin caspofungin (CS). Additionally, deletion of Afcps2 had a normal sporulation phenotype but caused hypersensitivity to Na+ stress, CFW, and Congo red (CR). Specifically, quantitative analysis of cell wall composition using high-performance anion exchange chromatography- pulsed amperometric detector (HPAEC-PAD) analysis revealed that depletion of Afcps1 reduced cell wall glucan and chitin contents, which was consistent with the downregulation of expression of the corresponding biosynthesis genes. Moreover, an elevated immune response stimulated by conidia of the ΔAfcps1 mutant in marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs) during phagocytosis was observed. Thus, our study provided new insights into the function of polysaccharide synthase Cps1, which is necessary for the maintenance of cell wall stability and the adaptation of conidia to the immune response of macrophages in A. fumigatus.

      • Key Trends in Supertall Buildings - A Review of the World's 100 Tallest Buildings in the Last 30 Years

Shasha Wang,Daniel Safarik,Zhendong Wang Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2023 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.12 No.1

The last 30 years have seen a rapid growth in the number of supertall buildings across the world, with newly completed buildings continuing to rank among the tallest 100 every year. Chinese projects notably play a pivotal role in these constant updates. It is caused by the interweaving of population and urbanization, economic considerations, and further, a series of accompanying urban problems. This paper focuses on the world's 100 tallest buildings in the last 30 years, and compares this collection of projects across five years via the dimensions of height, distribution, function and structural material. The intention is to discuss and interpret the influence factors and developing trends, some of which have been apparent over a dozen years, while others are just beginning to take shape, thus to provide an opportunity to preview the types of supertall buildings in the future.

Wind resistance performance of a continuous welding stainless steel roof under static ultimate wind loading with testing and simulation methods

        DaYang Wang,Zhendong Zhao,Tong Ou,Zhiyong Xin,Mingming Wang,Yongshan Zhang 한국풍공학회 2021 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.32 No.1

Ultrapure ferritic stainless steel provides a new generation of long-span metal roof systems with continuous welding technology, which exhibits many unknown behaviors during wind excitation. This study focuses on the wind-resistant capacity of a new continuous welding stainless steel roof (CWSSR) system. Full-scale testing on the welding joints and the CWSSR system is performed under uniaxial tension and static ultimate wind uplift loadings, respectively. A finite element model is developed with mesh refinement optimization and is further validated with the testing results, which provides a reliable way of investigating the parameter effect on the wind-induced structural responses, namely, the width and thickness of the roof sheeting and welding height. Research results show that the CWSSR system has predominant wind-resistant performance and can bear an ultimate wind uplift loading of 10.4 kPa without observable failures. The welding joints achieve equivalent mechanical behaviors as those of base material is produced with the current of 65 A. Independent structural responses can be found for the roof sheeting of the CWSSR system, and the maximum displacement appears at the middle of the roof sheeting, while the maximum stress appears at the connection supports between the roof sheeting with a significant stress concentration effect. The responses of the CWSSR system are greatly influenced by the width and thickness of the roof sheeting but are less influenced by the welding height. Performance Evaluation and Shear Resistance of Modular Prefabricated Two-Side Connected Composite Shear Walls

        Can Mei,Zhendong Zhao,Yongshan Zhang,Dayang Wang,Chengqing Wu 대한토목학회 2021 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.25 No.8

This paper investigates the impact of configuration parameters on the seismic performance of the modular prefabricated two-side connected composite shear wall. Firstly, the finite element model of the modular prefabricated two-side connected composite shear wall was established and validated by Xu’s experimental results. Secondly, three aspects of parameter investigationswere discussed in detail based on the validated numerical technology, namely the design parameter of ISP, design parameter of the stud, and design parameter of reinforced concrete faceplate (RCF). Then, the computation formula of shear capacity is deduced on the basis of the finite element model for reference to structural design. The results of parameter analysis displayed that the seismic performance of the modular prefabricated two-side connected composite shear wall has excellent seismic performance with the array studs of the length-diameter ratio of 4 which the center distance of 150 mm, and RCF with the thickness of 75 mm. A satisfactory but unadventurous estimation of the shear capacity of a modular prefabricated two-side connected composite shear wall is supplied by the advised technique.

      • Comparative Study on the Development Trends of High-rise Buildings Above 200 Meters in China, the USA and the UAE

Qu, Jiaqi,Wang, Zhendong,Du, Peng Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat Korea 2021 International journal of high-rise buildings Vol.10 No.1

Since 2006, the number of completed high-rise buildings over 200 meters have increased rapidly. Although there were some short-term cyclical troughs, the overall trend has still been growing. No longer constrained by technological limits, the development of high-rise buildings now depends on cooperation and compromise between social, economic, and political factors. This article extracts statistical data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) to focus on the completion of high-rise buildings of 200 meters and above over the past 20 years from 2000 to 2019. Similarities and differences in the number, distribution, and function of high-rise buildings are analyzed, The paper also compares the impact of different political and economic environments on the development trends of high-rise buildings in China, the United States and the UAE.
