As the first step in discussing the reliability of composite structures, a fundamental study was performed to obtain the scattering characteristics of glass-fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) and woven carbon fiber reinforced plastics (WCFRP) as well as a reference metal. The Euler buckling load was obtained experimentally for each material. The experiments were conducted for specified rectangular specimens with simply supported edges. A new attachment to realize the simply support boundary conditions for composite materials have been prepared before these experiments. The scattering data in the results for GFRP and WCFRP composites were compared with those of a typical metal of aluminum alloy. The experimental data were also compared with numerical simulations including the uncertainties.

This research investigates the structure of psychological ownership of people and the antecedents and results. Although research on psychological ownership is prevalent in Marketing and consumer behavior, there are a few works on psychological ownership of people. Recently, regardless of age and sex, people have been more actively engaging in activities that support their favorite celebrities, idols, and animation characters. They invest their time and money in the objects by participating in events, purchasing goods, recommending to others, etc. These behaviors would contribute to their life satisfaction and happiness. Based on previous research on psychological ownership in the field of organizational behavior and interview with idol fans, we built a model and tested it with data from 550 idol fans. The model contains two dimensions of the psychological ownership of consumers’ favorite idols, two factors as antecedents, two moderators relating to other fans, and two outcomes. The result shows that psychological identity positively affects a sense of community with other fans, and psychological responsibility positively influences territoriality toward them. While a sense of community with other fans positively affects their well-being and intention to continue support behaviors, territoriality negatively influences intention to continue support behaviors and positively impacts well-being.
Incommensurate Spin Spiral of the Geometrically-frustrated Antiferromagnet CdCr2O4

CdCr2O4 is a cubic spinel with geometrically-frustrated antiferromagnetic interactions betweenCr3+ ions. We investigated the structural and magnetic phase transitions in powder samples byusing magnetization and neutron diffraction measurements. An antiferromagnetic phase transitionwas observed at TN = 8.1 K, below which the crystallographic unit cell was tetragonal (c < a = b). Its incommensurate antiferromagnetic ordering below TN resembles dimerized spin chains in theab planes with the propagation vector k = (0, 0.088, 1). We argue that the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriyainteraction and the magnetic frustration play important roles in establishing the observed magneticordering.

We have investigated the magnetic properties of quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnetBaCo2V2O8 by the measurements of 51V-NMR spectrum. With decreasing temperature, Kk showsa broad peak around 30 K signaling the 1D short-range order in the Co2+ spin chain. The estimatedWeiss temperature Θ = −105 K, hyperfine coupling constants Akhf = 2.1 kOe/µB for H k c and Ahf= 2.6 kOe/µB for H ⊥ c at 13 kOe are comparable to those at 70.6 kOe. These results suggest thatstatic magnetic properties in the paramagnetic state are nearly independent of external magneticfield, although the ground N´eel state is suppressed by the application of external magnetic fieldabove Hc = 39 kOe along c-axis. In the antiferromagnetic state below TN = 5.4 K, the doublerectangle-like powder pattern was observed, indicating two V sites exposed to different size of internalfields, HA1 = 2.1 and HA2 = 3.8 kOe. The internal fields at V sites are explained by takinginto account of the classical and pseudo-dipolar fields from Co2+ magnetic moments.

Placenta previa presents a highest risk to pregnancy, and placenta accreta is the most serious. Placenta accreta requires cesarean delivery and often results in massive obstetric hemorrhage and higher maternal morbidity. Challenges associated with cesarean delivery techniques may contribute to increased maternal blood loss and morbidity rates. Several recent obstetric studies reported the usefulness of transverse uterine fundal incision for managing placenta accreta. We present a case of placenta percreta that was treated by a transverse fundal incision. We successfully avoided cutting through the placenta and helped decrease maternal blood loss. After delivery, the patient underwent a cesarean hysterectomy. Postoperative day 48, she experienced watery discharge and was diagnosed with vaginal fistula. We present our case and review the literature.
Phase Diagram and Eu Valence State in EuPtP1−xAsx

EuPtP is known to exhibit two valence ordering transitions, one at T1 = 235 K and the other atT2 = 190 K. For T > T1, the Eu ions are in the valence fluctuating state. For T2 < T < T1, the Euvalence state is ordered along the c-axis with the sequence of Eu2+-Eu2+-Eu3+-Eu2+-Eu2+-Eu3+. Moreover, the stacking is replaced by another sequence of Eu2+-Eu3+-Eu2+-Eu3+ at temperaturesbelow T2. The substitution of As for P expands the lattice and decreases both T1 and T2. Inthis paper, we report the magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity of EuPtP1−xAsx singlecrystals. We observed two valence ordering transitions for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.4, while a single valenceordering transition was detected for 0.55 ≤ x ≤ 0.6. No valence ordering transitions were observedfor x = 0.7 down to the lowest temperature. Based on the experimental results, we present thephase diagram of EuPtP1−xAsx and discuss the Eu valence state in this system.
