        Eu3+ emission in SrAl2B2O7 based phosphors

        Eu3+ doped SrAl2B2O7 phosphors were fabricated by the wet method. The structures of the phosphors were characterized by XRD. The doping content of Eu3+ ions in SrAl2B2O7:Eu3+ phosphors are 1%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% (molar fraction), respectively. Luminescence properties were analyzed by measuring the excitation and photoluminescence spectra. The luminescent properties of SrAl2B2O7:Eu3+ phosphors are discussed. It is shown that from 4% to 6% of doping content of Eu3+ ions under 392 nm excitation in SrAl2B2O7:Eu3+ phosphors is optimum.

        Genistein activates endothelial nitric oxide synthase in broiler pulmonary arterial endothelial cells by an Akt-dependent mechanism

        Deregulation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) plays an important role in the development of multiple cardiovascular diseases. Our recent study demonstrated that genistein supplementation attenuates pulmonary arterial hypertension in broilers by restoration of endothelial function. In this study, we investigated the molecular mechanism by using broiler pulmonary arterial endothelial cells (PAECs). Our results showed that genistein stimulated a rapid phosphorylation of eNOS at $Ser^{1179}$ which was associated with activation of eNOS/NO axis. Further study indicated that the activation of eNOS was not mediated through estrogen receptors or tyrosine kinase inhibition, but via a phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt-dependent signaling pathway, as the eNOS activity and related NO release were largely abolished by pharmacological inhibitors of PI3K or Akt. Thus, our findings revealed a critical function of Akt in mediating genistein-stimulated eNOS activity in PAECs, partially accounting for the beneficial effects of genistein on the development of cardiovascular diseases observed in animal models.

      • Stability Analysis of No.4 Slope in Maocaopo,Wushan County,Chongqing City

        By collecting data, field exploration, indoor tests and using numerical simulation, this paper conducted in-depth study and analysis on the no.4 maocao slope, and the following conclusions are obtained: (1) Maocao No.4 Slope is located in the wuxia section of the three Gorges of theYangtze River, on the left bank of the main stream the Yangtze River. The area belongs to the landform area of eroded middle and low mountain valleys, and the slope angle 43~54°. The slope is a reversed slope with steep slopes. The potential landslide is bounded by two gullies. The trailing edge is bounded by the boundary platform of the bending deformation zone of the rock mass. The platform is about 13m wide, the trailing edge is 456m high, and the leading edge elevation is according to the terrain, it is 85m. The main factors affecting the stability of the slope include geological structure, reservoir water storage, rainfall, and human engineering activities. (2)Using the limit equilibrium method to calculate the overall stability of sliding slope stability of No.4 slope in Maocao slope, the results show that the sliding stability coefficient is greater than 1.15 under different working conditions. (3)Through the kajinqiu graphical method, it is predicted that the bank width above the 175m water level of the bank of No.4 of Maocao is 13.57 to 48.93m, and the upper boundary of the bank is 184.46 to 232.64m. The impact of the bank collapse is stronger and stronger in the area.

        Suppression of stray electrons in the negative ion accelerator of CRAFT NNBI test facility

        Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology (CRAFT) is an integration of different demonstrating or testing facilities, which aim to develop the critical technology or composition system towards the fusion reactor. Due to the importance and challenge of the negative ion based neutral beam injection (NNBI), a NNBI test facility is included in the framework of CRAFT. The initial object of CRAFT NNBI test facility is to obtain a H0 beam power of 2 MW at the energy of 200e400 keV for the pulse duration of 100 s. Inside the negative ion accelerator of NNBI system, the interactions of the negative ions with the background gas and electrodes can generate abundant stray electrons. The stray electrons can be further accelerated and dumped on the electrodes or eject from the accelerator. The stray electrons, including the ejecting electrons, cause the unwanted particle and heat flux onto the electrodes and the inner components of beamline (especially the temperature sensitive cryopump). The suppression of the stray electrons from the CRAFT accelerator is carried out via a series of design and simulation works. The paper focuses the influence of different magnetic field configurations on the stray electrons and the character of the ejecting electrons.

      • A Novel Objective Quality Assessment for Super-Resolution Images

        A novel objective quality assessment method is proposed for super-resolution images in this manuscript. We not only estimate the preserved information of each spatial location in the super-resolution image by structural similarity, but also compute the local phase coherence (LPC) with which we can detect the image blur in the super-resolution image. After the preserved structural information and blur information is obtained, an overall evaluation of visual quality of the super-resolution image can be computed. Experimental results show that the proposed objective quality assessment method can be used in the real applications with the original high-resolution images unavailable.

        Effect of Corticosterone Administration on Small Intestinal Weight and Expression of Small Intestinal Nutrient Transporter mRNA of Broiler Chickens

        The effects of corticosterone (CORT) administration on the weight of small intestine and the expression of nutrient transporter mRNA in the small intestine of broiler chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) were investigated. One hundred and eight sevenday-old birds were randomly divided into two equal groups comprising a control group (CTRL) and an experimental group (CORT). CTRL birds were fed a basal diet and the CORT birds were fed a basal diet containing 30 mg corticosterone/kg from d 8 to 21. At 21 d of age, average daily feed intake (ADFI), serum corticosterone level, small intestinal absolute wet weight and relative weight, and relative abundance of SGLT1, CaBP-D28k, PepT1 mRNA in the duodenum and L-FABP mRNA in the jejunum were determined. The results showed that serum corticosterone level, liver weight and small intestinal relative weight (small intestinal wet weight/body weight) of CORT chickens were about 30.15%, 26.72% and 42.20% higher, respectively, than in the CTRL group (p<0.05). CORT birds had relative mRNA abundance of CaBP-D28k and PepT1 in the duodenum, and L-FABP in the jejunum which was 1.77, 1.37 and 1.94 fold higher, respectively, than in the CTRL group (p<0.05); the relative abundance of SGLT1 was 1.67 fold higher than in the CTRL group (p = 0.097). ADFI, small intestinal wet weight and length in CORT-treated broiler chickens was about 29.11%, 31.12% and 12.35% lower, respectively, than in the CTRL group (p<0.05). In conclusion, corticosterone administration lowered the wet weight but increased the relative weight of the small intestine and the expression of intestinal nutrient transporter mRNA of broiler chickens.

        하수방류수 재이용 MF/RO 공정에서 가압식 MF의 전처리 성능 향상 방안 연구

        Pressurized MF membranes are used to remove suspended solid and colloidal materials of wastewater treatment plant effluent as the pretreatment of RO in reuse water production process. Membrane operation data and pollutants removal efficiency are investigated using 100 t/d scale pilot plant in J wastewater treatment plant located in Namyangju city. 40 LMH flux of pressurized MF membrane are obtained in various turbidity and temperature condition. Coagulation of dissolved organic enables flux improvement of MF from 40 LMH to 60 LMH. Pressure drop of 1st RO elements rapidly increased after long-term pause, which is because the complex contamination of organic matter and ionic substances of pluming systems. 하수방류수 재이용을 위한 RO 전처리로 부유물질 및 콜로이드 물질의 제거를 위해 가압식 MF를 사용하였다. 남양주 J 하수처리장의 생물학적 처리와 모래여과를 거쳐 방류되는 방류수를 원수로 사용하였으며 100 톤/일 규모의 pilot plant를 1년 이상 운전하여 성능을 검토하였다. 가압식 MF에 의해 원수 수질 및 온도의 변화에 상관없이 flux 40 LMH 운전이 가능하였으며 전처리로 응집제를 넣어 용존 유기물을 응집할 경우 60 LMH 운전이 가능하였다. RO 공정에서 장기간 정지 이후 운전을 재개하였을 때 1단 pressure drop이 급격히 증가하는 현상이 나타났고 이러한 결과는 배관 내 형성된 유기물과 이온물질의 복합오염물질이 1단 RO막에 침적된 결과로 사료된다.

        Sub Oriented Histograms of Local Binary Patterns for Smoke Detection and Texture Classification

        Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and its variants have powerful discriminative capabilities but most of them just consider each LBP code independently. In this paper, we propose sub oriented histograms of LBP for smoke detection and image classification. We first extract LBP codes from an image, compute the gradient of LBP codes, and then calculate sub oriented histograms to capture spatial relations of LBP codes. Since an LBP code is just a label without any numerical meaning, we use Hamming distance to estimate the gradient of LBP codes instead of Euclidean distance. We propose to use two coordinates systems to compute two orientations, which are quantized into discrete bins. For each pair of the two discrete orientations, we generate a sub LBP code map from the original LBP code map, and compute sub oriented histograms for all sub LBP code maps. Finally, all the sub oriented histograms are concatenated together to form a robust feature vector, which is input into SVM for training and classifying. Experiments show that our approach not only has better performance than existing methods in smoke detection, but also has good performance in texture classification.
