An Efficient Parallel Infilling Strategy and Its Application in Sheet Metal Forming

        Yan-Min Xie,Yuan-Heng Guo,Fei Zhang,Yue-Peng Yue,Mei-Qiang Feng,Jiang-Bo Zhao 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.8

Infilling strategies play an important role in kriging based optimization, especially when computationally expensive simulations are involved. In order to improve the efficiency of constructing a high-precision kriging model, an improved expected improvement criterion (IEI) and a parallel infilling strategy are proposed based on the maximum expected improvement (EI) criterion. In the proposed parallel infilling strategy, new sample points are generated by employing IEI criterion coupled with EI criterion. During the improved sampling process, redundant and pseudo sample are deleted in order to avoid failure of constructing a kriging model. An improved weighted particle swarm optimization (WPSO) algorithm is proposed to improve optimization efficiency. The proposed parallel infilling strategy is applied to nonlinear function optimization and variable blank holder force (VBHF) optimization in a double-c stamped part. Based on the LHD and software DYNAFORM, kriging models between the VBHF and forming quality are constructed. Compared with the initial kriging models, the meat relative error of kriging models with the proposed parallel infilling strategy for the wrinkling and average thinning rate are reduced by 95% and 55%, respectively. The optimal VBHF is obtained by the WPSO. The results show that, cracking has been completely eliminated and wrinkling has been decreased, greatly improving the forming quality of the double-c stamped part.

      • A Systematic Review of Studies on Cyber Physical System Security

Peiyuan Dong,Yue Han,Xiaobo Guo,Feng Xie 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.9 No.1

Cyber-Physical System (CPS) is a system of systems which integrates physical system with cyber capability in order to improve the physical performance [1]. So far, it is being widely applied in areas closely related to national economy and people’s daily lives. Therefore, CPS security problems have drawn a global attention and an appropriate risk assessment for CPS is in urgent need. According to the researches and discussions in recent years, we believe that most researchers have already established a comprehensive understanding about CPS. This paper systematically introduced CPS’s conception, development and applications assisted. In addition, concerning about its aspects of safety and security, we also analyzed CPS’s risks and new requirements as an up-to-date technique brings. We elaborate the existing work and propose a research focus that has not been paid enough attention to, and proposed a security framework for CPS. At last, after providing a classic modeling and simulation method of CPS, we bring forward a new idea for accessing the experimental results into existing systems.

      • Investigation on the failure type of tower segments under equivalent static wind loads

Yue Li,Qiang Xie,Zheng Yang 한국풍공학회 2022 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.34 No.2

This paper presents a failure type assessment curve method to judge the failure type of transmission tower segments. This novel method considers the equivalent static wind load characteristics and the transmission tower members’ load-bearing capacities based on numerical simulations. This method can help judge the failure types according to the relative positions between the actual state points and the assessment curves of transmission tower segments. If the extended line of the actual state point intersects with the horizontal part’s assessment curve, the segment would lose load-bearing capacity due to the diagonal members’ failure. Another scenario occurs when the intersection point is in the oblique part, indicating that the broken main members have caused the tower segment to fail. The proposed method is verified by practical engineering case studies and static tests on the scaled tower segments.

      • Relaxed Fuzzy Observer Design of Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems via Two Effective Technical Measures

Xie, Xiangpeng,Yue, Dong,Park, Ju H.,Li, Hongyi IEEE 2018 IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems Vol.26 No.5

<P>This paper deals with more relaxed designs of discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy-model-based observers via two effective technical measures. Different from previous methods of this field, two effective technical measures are developed for obtaining more relaxed results, i.e., 1) A novel ranking-based switching mechanism is proposed by introducing a set of weighted variables so as to make use of the size differences information among normalized fuzzy weighting functions more freely. 2) A new slack variable method is proposed via the introduction of some extended representations for homogenous polynomials, and those major and minor relationships among all normalized fuzzy weighting functions are mapped to sole augmented multiindexed matrix for each homogeneous polynomial. Therefore, two positive results are provided in this paper, i.e., less conservative fuzzy observers can be given as a result of the above effective measures whilst a part of the online computational cost can be transferred to the offline implementation. Finally, two numerical examples are applied to illustrate the effectiveness of our approach.</P>

Longitudinal Intrinsic Brain Activity Changes in Cirrhotic Patients before and One Month after Liver Transplantation

        Yue Cheng,Li-Xiang Huang,Li Zhang,Ming Ma,Shuang-Shuang Xie,Qian Ji,Xiao-Dong Zhang,Gao-Yan Zhang,Xue-Ning Zhang,Hong-Yan Ni,Wen Shen 대한영상의학회 2017 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.18 No.2

Objective: To evaluate the spontaneous brain activity alterations in liver transplantation (LT) recipients using resting-state functional MRI. Materials and Methods: Twenty cirrhotic patients as transplant candidates and 25 healthy controls (HCs) were included in this study. All patients repeated the MRI study one month after LT. Amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) values were compared between cirrhotic patients (both pre- and post-LT) and HCs as well as between the pre- and post-LT groups. The relationship between ALFF changes and venous blood ammonia levels and neuropsychological tests were investigated using Pearson’s correlation analysis. Results: In the cirrhotic patients, decreased ALFF in the vision-related regions (left lingual gyrus and calcarine), sensorimotor-related regions (left postcentral gyrus and middle cingulate cortex), and the default-mode network (bilateral precuneus and left inferior parietal lobule) were restored, and the increased ALFF in the temporal and frontal lobe improved in the early period after LT. The ALFF decreases persisted in the right supplementary motor area, inferior parietal lobule, and calcarine. The ALFF changes in the right precuneus were negatively correlated with changes in number connection test-A scores (r = 0.507, p < 0.05). Conclusion: LT improved spontaneous brain activity and the results for associated cognition tests. However, decreased ALFF in some areas persisted, and new-onset abnormal ALFF were possible, indicating that complete cognitive function recovery may need more time.

      • Associations of ABCB1 and XPC Genetic Polymorphisms with Susceptibility to Colorectal Cancer and Therapeutic Prognosis in a Chinese Population

        Yue, Ai-Min,Xie, Zhen-Bin,Zhao, Hong-Feng,Guo, Shu-Ping,Shen, Yu-Hou,Wang, Hai-Pu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.5

Associations between ABCB1 and XPC genetic polymorphisms and risk of developing colorectal cancer (CRC) as well as clinical outcomes in CRCs with chemotherapy were investigated. A case-control study was performed on the ABCB1 C3435T, G2677T/A and XPC Lys939Gln polymorphisms in 428 CRC cases and 450 hospitalbased, age and sex frequency-matched controls using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) assays. We observed that the ABCB1 3435CT or CC+CT variants were significantly linked with increasing risk of developing CRC (adjusted OR (95% CI): 1.814 (1.237-2.660), P=0.0022; adjusted OR (95% CI): 1.605 (1.117-2.306), P=0.0102, respectively). Moreover, the distribution frequency of XPC AC genotype or AC+CC genotypes also showed a tendency towards increasing the suscepbility for CRC (P=0.0759 and P=0.0903, respectively). Kaplan-Meier curves showed that the ABCB1 C3435T variant was associated with a tendency toward longer progression-free survival (PFS) (n=343, Log-rank test: P=0.063), and the G2677T/A variant genotypes (GT+TT+GA+AA) with a tendency for longer OS in postoperative oxaliplatin-based patients (n=343, Log-rank test: P=0.082). However, no correlation of the XPC Lys939Gln polymorphism was found with PFS and OS in patients with postoperative oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy (n=343). Our study indicated that ABCB1 polymorphisms might be candidate pharmacogenomic factors for the prediction of CRC susceptibility, but not for prognosis with oxaliplatin chemosensitivity in CRC patients.

Anti-fouling characteristic of carbon nanotubes hollow fiber membranes by filtering natural organic pollutants

        Yue Yang,Sen Qiao,Ruofei Jin,Jiti Zhou,Xie Quan 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.4

Membrane fouling is a universal problem for conventional membrane filtration that usually causes a deterioration in membrane performance. We used electro-assisted carbon nanotubes hollow fiber membranes (CNTs-HFMs) to investigate the anti-fouling properties using natural organic pollutants. Benefiting from the electro-assistance, the permeation flux of humic acid solution using CNTs-HFMs was 190.20 L/(m2·h·bar), which was about 1.5- and 4.4- times higher than those of CNTs-HFMs without electro-assistance and traditional polyvinylidene fluoride hollow-fiber membranes (PVDF-HFMs). And the permeation fluxes of bovine serum albumin, sodium alginate and supernatant of anaerobic bioreactor also presented similar results. The average COD removal rate of CNTs-HFMs (66.8%) at 1.0 V was higher than that of CNTs-HFMs without electro-assistance and PVDF-HFMs, which can be attributed to the formation of electrostatic repulsive force. It could reduce the deposition of pollutants on membrane surface under electroassistance.

A novel human KRAB-related zinc finger gene ZNF425 inhibits mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway

( Yue Qun Wang ),( Xiang Li Ye ),( Jun Mei Zhou ),( Yong Qi Wan ),( Hua Ping Xie ),( Yun Deng ),( Yan Yan ),( Yong Qing Li ),( Xiong Wei Fan ),( Wu Zhou Yuan ),( Xiao Yang Mo ),( Xiu Shan Wu ) 생화학분자생물학회(구 한국생화학분자생물학회) 2011 BMB Reports Vol.44 No.1

Zinc finger (ZNF) proteins play a critical role in cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis, and intracellular signal transduction. In this paper, we cloned and characterized a novel human KRAB-related zinc finger gene, ZNF425, which encodes a protein of 752 amino acids. ZNF425 is strongly expressed in the three month old human embryos and then is almost undetectable in six month old embryos and in adult tissues. An EGFP-ZNF425 fusion protein can be found in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. ZNF425 appears to act as a transcription repressor. Over-expression of ZNF425 inhibits the transcriptional activities of SRE, AP-1, and SRF. Deletion analysis indicates that the C2H2 domain is the main region responsible for the repression. Our results suggest that the ZNF425 gene is a new transcriptional inhibitor that functions in the MAPK signaling pathway. [BMB reports 2011; 44(1): 58-63]

Metabolic Regulation of Gene Expression by Histone Lysine β-Hydroxybutyrylation

        Xie, Zhongyu,Zhang, Di,Chung, Dongjun,Tang, Zhanyun,Huang, He,Dai, Lunzhi,Qi, Shankang,Li, Jingya,Colak, Gozde,Chen, Yue,Xia, Chunmei,Peng, Chao,Ruan, Haibin,Kirkey, Matt,Wang, Danli,Jensen, Lindy M. Elsevier 2016 Molecular cell Vol.62 No.2

<P><B>Summary</B></P> <P>Here we report the identification and verification of a β-hydroxybutyrate-derived protein modification, lysine β-hydroxybutyrylation (Kbhb), as a new type of histone mark. Histone Kbhb marks are dramatically induced in response to elevated β-hydroxybutyrate levels in cultured cells and in livers from mice subjected to prolonged fasting or streptozotocin-induced diabetic ketoacidosis. In total, we identified 44 histone Kbhb sites, a figure comparable to the known number of histone acetylation sites. By ChIP-seq and RNA-seq analysis, we demonstrate that histone Kbhb is a mark enriched in active gene promoters and that the increased H3K9bhb levels that occur during starvation are associated with genes upregulated in starvation-responsive metabolic pathways. Histone β-hydroxybutyrylation thus represents a new epigenetic regulatory mark that couples metabolism to gene expression, offering a new avenue to study chromatin regulation and diverse functions of β-hydroxybutyrate in the context of important human pathophysiological states, including diabetes, epilepsy, and neoplasia.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Lysine β-hydroxybutyrylation (Kbhb) is a new type of histone mark </LI> <LI> 44 non-redundant histone Kbhb sites are identified in human and mouse cells </LI> <LI> Histone Kbhb increases under starvation and STZ-induced ketoacidosis </LI> <LI> Starvation-induced H3K9bhb is associated with active gene expression </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical Abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • Robust Fault Estimation Design for Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems via A Modified Fuzzy Fault Estimation Observer

        Xie, Xiang-Peng,Yue, Dong,Park, Ju H. Elsevier 2018 ISA transactions Vol.73 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The paper provides relaxed designs of fault estimation observer for nonlinear dynamical plants in the Takagi–Sugeno form. Compared with previous theoretical achievements, a modified version of fuzzy fault estimation observer is implemented with the aid of the so-called maximum-priority-based switching law. Given each activated switching status, the appropriate group of designed matrices can be provided so as to explore certain key properties of the considered plants by means of introducing a set of matrix-valued variables. Owing to the reason that more abundant information of the considered plants can be updated in due course and effectively exploited for each time instant, the conservatism of the obtained result is less than previous theoretical achievements and thus the main defect of those existing methods can be overcome to some extent in practice. Finally, comparative simulation studies on the classical nonlinear truck-trailer model are given to certify the benefits of the theoretic achievement which is obtained in our study.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A modified fuzzy fault estimation observer is developed by the aid of a maximum-priority-based switching law. </LI> <LI> The criterion takes the form of an LMI which is computationally tractable. </LI> <LI> The obtained observer design conditions are less conservative. </LI> </UL> </P>
