『Hwangjenaegyeong-taeso(黃帝內經太素)』 is a classic work of Yang Sang-seon(楊上善), which comprises original articles of 『Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)』 along with 『Somun(素問)』, 『Yeongchu (靈樞)』, and 『gapeul(甲乙)』, as a one of the oldest annotated publications. Therefore, its significance lies in that 『Hwangjenaegyeong-taeso(黃帝內經太素)』 is a valuable work to reconstruct the original text of 『Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)』 and comprehend its fundamental ideas. The only printed edition of 『Hwangjenaegyeong-taeso(黃帝內經太素)』 was photocopied in 1981, and is currently known as ``Orient Edition``. While ``Orient Edition`` was referred to as the draft for the latest revised edition, volume 21 and 27 were photocopied from hand-copied edition, not the original. The original publications of ``Orient Edition`` have been stocked at ``Haengwuseook(杏雨書屋)`` of Japan and were recently published. Hence, a comparative study between the two original volumes and the former ones has been conducted. Although the most of the differences were trivial, some may have led to distorted interpretation of the text. The errors of the former revised edition fall into a few specific categories, and the most significant ones were errors that were made during the hand-copying procedure. Moreover, there were errors that were made due to the low resolution of the former draft, and simple errors during the publishing. In this work, examples of such cases were presented, and the results were collected.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate splenic constipation syndrome(脾約證) in Shanghanlun by comparing 179 & 247 provisions. Methods : Including Shanghanlun, several texts which contain Cheng Wu-ji, Wan Mi-zhai, Qian Huang, Zhu Gong, Fang You-zhi, Yu Jia-yan, Zhang Lu, Cheng Ying-mao, Zhang Xi-ju, Chen Xiu-yuan, Wu Qian, Xu Ling-tai, You Zai-jing, Zhu Dan-xi`s opinion about the splenic constipation syndrome were chosen and comparative consideration was carried out. Results & Conclusions : The following conclusions could be drawn. 247 provisions in Shanghanlun is different from 179 provisions because the beginning of the each splenic constipation syndrome is different. The difference between 179 & 247 provisions are proved by comparing Mild Purgative Decoction which is used Taiyangyangming splenic constipation syndrome and Fructus Cannabis Pill which is used Dorsal pedal pulse splenic constipation syndrome. Cheng Wu-ji`s opinion that 179 & 247 provisions is different is meaningful because he is first investigated the different beginning of the splenic constipation syndrome. Several annotator`s opinion which oppose Cheng Wu-ji is majority and they set a high value on Jangbu(臟腑) factor. Several annotator`s opinion which agree Cheng Wu-ji is minority and they set a high value on splenic constipation syndrome also begins from Taiyangbing. The concept of overlapping of Taiyangyangming is different from the concept of Taiyangyangming. Consequently 179 & 247 provisions has to be distinguished.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the bone regeneration capability of silk membrane plus 3% 4-hexylresorcinol (3% 4-HR plus SM) in a rabbit calvarial defect model. Twenty New Zealand white rabbits were used in this study. Bilateral round shaped defects were created in the parietal bone (diameter: 8.0 mm). And the defects were covered with (1) 3% 4-HR plus SM, (2) collagen membrane (CM), (3) no graft material. After surgery, the animals were sacrificed at 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Bone regeneration was analyzed in each section by micro-computerized tomography (μ-CT). And Hematoxylin and eosin stains were used for histological analysis. As measured by μ-CT analysis 4 weeks after surgery, the average of new bone formation in animals treated with 3% 4-HR plus SM was greater than that of animals treated with CM. and the difference was statistically significant. And well organized lamella bones were observed in the histological view of the 3% 4-HR plus SM group. Therefore, more bone regeneration was seen in animals treated with 3% 4-HR plus SM than in those treated with CM or uncovered control.

In this study, b-glucosidase from Aspergillus niger was pretreated with cellobiose and glucose to prevent loss of enzyme activity, and pretreated b-glucosidase was immobilized on silica gel as a carrier by covalent binding. To enhance the activity of immobilized b-glucosidase, the effects of substrate concentration and reaction conditions, including temperature, time, and agitation speed, were investigated. The optimal concentrations of cellobiose and glucose, temperature, time, and agitation speed were determined to be 0.02 M, 40 8C, 20 min, and 130 rpm, respectively. The activity of immobilized b-glucosidase after pretreatment was increased to about 176% of that of non-pretreated bglucosidase. In addition, the optimal pH and temperature of the non-pretreated and pretreated immobilized b-glucosidases were both pH 5.5 and 65 8C, respectively. Moreover, the immobilized bglucosidases were used repeatedly 20 times, and the enzyme activities were maintained at levels higher than 80% of their initial activities.
[FCP 4] Localized hypersensitivity to vancomycin after PROSTALAC fracture

Vancomycin is the important component for the prosthesis of antibiotic-loaded acrylic cement (PROSTALAC) which is developed to treat the joint infection. A 66-year-old female was consulted to our department for erythematous patch on right hip joint. She had gotten surgery of PROSTALAC implant on her right hip because of wound infection occurred after hip arthroplasty. After surgery, Elevated ESR and CRP levels fell within normal range. However PROSTALAC is fractured 3 weeks after surgery and pruritic erythematous patch immediately appeared on the skin around the fractured area. Our differential diagnosis was cellulitis and hypersensitivity reaction to PROSTALAC components such as cobalt or vancomycin. On physical examination, heating sensation was not accompanied. Laboratory test showed no leukocytosis. Histopathologic examination showed lymphocytes, plasma cells infiltration in the dermis without neutrophil, eosinophil. Therefore cellulitis could be excluded. Her skin lesion was disappeared after treatment with oral antihistamine. She also received conversion surgery with metal device composed of cobalt but didn`t show hypersensitivity reaction. We speculated that the local tissue concentration of vancomycin due to PROSTALAC fracture was rapidly elevated and it caused localized hypersensitivity reaction. To the best of our knowledge, our case is the first report of localized hypersensitivity to vancomycin after PROSTALAC fracture.

Noctiluca scintillans is a heterotrophic dinoflagellate that causes red-colored oceans during the day (red tides) and glowing oceans at night (bioluminescence). This species feeds on diverse prey, including phytoplankton, heterotrophic protists, and eggs of metazoans. Thus, many scientists have conducted studies on the ecophysiology of this species. It is easy to cultivate N. scintillans at a scale of <1 L, but it is difficult to cultivate them at a scale of >100 L because N. scintillans cells usually stay near the surface, while prey cells stay below the surface in large water tanks. To obtain mass-cultured N. scintillans cells, we developed an automatic system for cultivating N. scintillans on a scale of 100 L. The system consisted of four tanks containing fresh nutrients, the chlorophyte Dunaliella salina as prey, N. scintillans for growth, and N. scintillans for storage, respectively. The light intensities supporting the high growth rates of D. salina and N. scintillans were 300 and 20 µmol photons m<sup>-2</sup> s<sup>-1</sup>, respectively. Twenty liters of D. salina culture from the prey culture tank were transferred to the predator culture tank, and subsequently 20 L of nutrients from the nutrient tank were transferred to the prey culture tank every 2 d. When the volume of N. scintillans in the predator culture tank reached 90 L 6 d later, 70 L of the culture were transferred to the predator storage tank. To prevent N. scintillans cells from being separated from D. salina cells in the predator culture tank, the culture was mixed using an air pump, a sparger, and a stirrer. The highest abundance of N. scintillans in the predator culture tank was 45 cells mL<sup>-1</sup>, which was more than twice the highest abundance when this dinoflagellate was cultivated manually. This automatic system supplies 100 L of N. scintillans pure culture with a high density every 10 d for diverse experiments on N. scintillans.

Very few plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are known to produce gibberellins (GAs). The current study aimed to isolate a phytohormone-producing PGP rhizobacterium from soil and assess its potential to enhance plant growth. The newly isolated bacterium was identified as Leifsonia soli sp. SE134 on the basis of partial 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequence. Application of L. soli culture filtrate significantly increased the biomass, hypocotyl, and root lengths of cucumber seeds as compared with non-inoculated sole medium and distilled water treated controls. Furthermore, the PGPR culture was applied to the GA-deficient mutant rice cultivar Waito-C. Treatment with L. soli SE134 significantly increased the growth of Waito-C rice seedlings as compared with controls. Upon chromatographic analysis of L. soli culture, we isolated, detected and quantified different GAs; namely, GA1 (0.61 ± 0.15), GA4 (1.58 ± 0.26), GA7 (0.54 ± 0.18), GA8 (0.98 ± 0.15), GA9 (0.45 ± 0.17), GA12 (0.64 ± 0.21), GA19 (0.18 ± 0.09), GA20 (0.78 ± 0.15), GA24 (0.38 ± 0.09), GA34 (0.35 ± 0.10), and GA53 (0.17 ± 0.05). Plant growth promotion in cucumber, tomato, and young radish plants further evidenced the potential of this strain as a PGP bacterium. The results suggest that GA secretion by L. soli SE134 might prove advantageous for its ameliorative role in crop growth. These findings can be extended for improving the productivity of different crops under diverse environmental conditions.
Topical tacrolimus treatment for hypopigmented lichen striatus

Background: About half of lichen striatus (LS) leave behind residual hypopigmentation especially in dark-skinned individuals. However, treatment of hypopigmented LS has not been elucidated yet. Objectives: To investigate the clinicopathological feature of hypopigmented LS and identify the efficacy of topical tacrolimus in treating hypopigmented LS. Methods: Sixty-six patients with hypopigmented LS who visited Pusan National University Hospitals (Busan and Yangsan) from 2007 to 2017 were enrolled. Skin biopsy was performed in 27 patients. Twenty-eight patients were instructed to apply 0.1% topical tacrolimus ointment twice a day. Results: Mean age at initial visit was 5.6 ± 4.8 years old (range, 4 months old to 30 years old). Fine surface scales were observed in 87.9% (58/66) and tiny papules were accompanied in 51.5% (34/66). Histopathologically, all specimens showed above moderate inflammatory cells infiltration: perivascular infiltration (27/27, 100%), lichenoid infiltration (21/27, 77.8%), appendageal involvement (17/27, 63.0%). After treatment by topical tacrolimus, 13 patients showed complete response (mean 4.8 (2-16) months), 10 patients showed partial response (mean 4.7 (1-14) months) and 5 patients showed minimal response (mean 16.8 (1-48) months). Conclusion: Topical tacrolimus might be effective in the treatment of hypopigmented LS supported by histopathologically residual above moderate inflammatory cells infiltration.

The influence of carrageenan addition on the gelatinization of salt-based surimi gels was investigated by measuring compressive properties and Hunter color scale values. Hydrocolloid kappa (κ)-carrageenan at 0%, 0.2%, and 1.0% and NaCl (2% w/w), KCl (1.5% w/w), and a mixture of NaCl (2% w/w) and KCl (1.5% w/w), were added to Alaska pollock surimi. Gel compressive properties were assessed by measuring the breaking force and gel strength. The gelling property of κ-carrageenan-induced surimi gel was significantly increased by the incorporation of KCl rather than NaCl. The addition of κ-carrageenan increased the breaking force and gel strength of surimi gels. Gels with 1% κ-carrageenan and KCl had the highest breaking force and gel strength. The addition of κ-carrageenan caused an increase in the whiteness values of the surimi gels.
