      • 고관절 치환술후 무균성 해리와 골용해 조직에서 세포사멸

        목적 : 인공 고관절 치환술 후 실패의 가장 중요한 원인이 되는 무균성 해리및 골용해와 nitric oxide(NO)에 의한 염증세포 사멸의 연관성을 규명하기 위해 본 연구를 시행하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 무균성 해리와 골용해로 인해 재치환술을 받은 18명의 환자의 조직에서 세포들의 사멸을 Terminal Deoxyribonucleotidyl Transferase-Mediated dUTP Nick End Labeing (TUNEL) 방법을 이용하여 검사하였으며, inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)와 미토콘드리아 관련 세포사멸 경로를 p53, Bax, Bcl2, Ki67 항체를 이용해서 면역 염색하였다. 대조군으로 대퇴 경부 골절 환자 6명의 관절낭을 이용하였다. 결과 : 16명(89%)에서 iNOS, p53, Bax 항체에 양성 반응을 보였으며, 12명(67%)에서 Bcl2, Ki-67 항체에 양성반응을, 전례에서 TUNEL에 양성반응을 보였다. 대조군에서는 1명(17%)에서 iNOS와 Bax에, 3명(50%)에서 TUNEL에 양성반응을 보였다. 무균성 해리와 골용해 조직의 세포사멸에 대한 양성반응의 발현빈도가 대조 조직에서 보다 유의하게 높았다. 결론 : Nitric oxide에 의한 염증세포의 사멸이 인공고관절 치환술 후 생기는 무균성 해리와 골용해에 작용함을 알수 있었다. 이 결과는 해리 및 골용해의 예방과 치료방법을 개발하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. Purpose : To evaluate the relationships between the apoptosis induced by nitric oxide(NO), aseptic loosening and osteolysis, which are the most serious causes of failure after total hip arthroplasty. Materials and Methods : Apoptosis of the inflammatory cells of interface tissues from 18 patients who underwent revision hip arthroplasty was identified by Teminal Deoxyribonucleotidyl Transferase-Mediated dUTP Nick End Labeling(TUNEL). The reaction to immunostaining of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS), p59, Bax, Bcl2, and Ki-67 were evaluated. Six joint capsules obtained from six patients of femoral neck fracture were studied as controls. Results : Sixteen(89%) of 18 interface tissues were positive for iNOS, p53, and Bax monoclonal antibody and twelve(67%) for Bcl2 and Ki-67 monoclonal antibody. All tissues were positive for TUNEL. In the control group of six joint capsules, only one(17%) was positive for iNOS and Bax, and three(50%) were positive for TUNEL. The incidences of apoptiotic signals at the interfacial tissue of aseptic loosening and osteolysis were significantly greater than those of the control. Conclusion : The current study suggested that the apoptosis of inflammatory cells, due to oxidative stress by NO, might be involved in the development of implant loosening and osteolysis after total hip arthroplasty. This information might be crucial for the treatment and prevention of periprosthetic osteolysis and subsequent loosening.

      • A case of lichen amyloidosis in an adult

        Lichen amyloidosis is a type of primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis clinically characterized by persistent pruritic, hyperkeratotic papules commonly distributed on the shins. Histopathologically, amyloid deposition in the papillary dermis is the characteristic finding. It appears to be more common in males and most often occurs in people 50-60 years of age. A 49-year-old woman presented with brownish papuloplaques on the both lower legs. Itching sense was severe and the lesion was occurred 2 years ago. Histopatholgic findings showed amyloid deposit in the papillary dermis. D-PAS staining was negative. Based on these findings, a diagnosis of lichen amyloidosis was made. We think this case has typical chracteristics of lichen amyloidosis. Therefore we report a case of lichen amyloidosis for educational purposes.

        일부 지역 농촌 노인의 철분 영양상태에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to examine nutritional status of iron in 27 rural elderly subjects. The daily intake, urinary excretion and serum level of iron were determined by 24-hr food collection method, and 24-hr urine and serum collection for 3 days. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The mean age, height, weight, and blood pressure were 67.7 years, 163.2㎝, 55.9㎏, and 121.1/80.0㎜Hg in men and 69.9 years, 146.5㎝, 47.6㎏, and 108.9/71.1㎜Hg in women, respectively. 2. The daily intake of energy, protein, vitamin A, vitamin B₁, vitamin B₂, niacin, vitamin C, and iron were lower than Korean recommended dietary allowances. 3. The daily iron intake was 7.82㎎. The proportion of heme iron and nonheme iron to the total iron intake were 8.05% and 91.94%, respectively. Major iron sources of the rural elderly were cooked rice, Ko Chu Jang, beef blood, anchovy, soybean paste, and leafy radish. 4. The hemoglobin, hematocrit, serum iron, and total iron binding capacity were 14.3g/dl, 42.9%, 79.4 ㎍/dl, and 268.4 ㎍/dl in men and 12.9g/dl, 38.8%, 92.4 ㎍/dl, and 277.9 ㎍/dl in women, respectively. 5. There was a significant positive correlation between dietary intake and urinary excretion of iron.

      • 만성 화농성 중이염의 세균학적 고찰

        The chronic suppurative otitis media is one of the most common disease in the otologic field. And the works on bacterial distribution of chronic suppurative otitis media were studied by many otologist, but there is some difference. The bacteriologic study was done on 126 cases of chronic suppurative otitis media who visited the Department of Otolaryngology, Chosun University Hospital between January 1989 and December 1989 and the following conclusions were obtained. 1) In sex distribution, the male had higher incidence rate than female (M: 56.3%, F:43.7%). 2) In age distribution, 3rd decade (34.1%), 2nd decade (34.1%), were most prevalent. 3) In duration of the disease, the hightest frequence was below 5 years duration 4) Among 126 cases, 98 cases(77.8%) were unilateral (right ear was 47 cases(37.3%) and left ear was 51 cases(40.5%))and 28 cases(22.2%) were bilateral. 5) The 136 cases(88.3%) showed the positive results under culture, but 18 cases(11.7%) didn't growthed. Among 136 cases 95 cases(61.7%) had single infection and the 41 cases(26.6%) had mixed infection. 6) The most frequently isolated bacteria was staphylococcus(38 strains, 27.9%) and next were proteus(27 strains, 19.9%) and pseudomonas (22 strains, 16.2%). 7) The Staphylococcus was sensitive to cephalothin(94.7%), amikacin(78.9%) and resistant to penicaIin(63.2%). 8) The Proteus was sensitive to amikacin(92.6%), cephalothin(88.9%) and resistant to minocycline(81.5%) and gentamicin(70.4%). 9) The Pseudomonas was sensitive to amikadn(86.4%), gemtamicin(59.1%) and resistant to minocycline(90.9%), ampicillin(86.4%) and cephalothin(86.4%).

      • 적응적 블록 정합 알고리즘에 대한 연구

        비디오 동영상 압축에서 프레임간의 시간적 상관관계를 이용하여 움직임 추정과 움직임 보상기법을 수행한다. 이 방법으로 동영상에 존재하는 중복된 데이터를 제거하기 때문에 비디오 영상 압축에서 중요한 역할을 하지만 실시간 응용 및 고해상도 응용에 적용하기에는 많은 계산량을 필요로 한다. 따라서 움직임 벡터를 결정하기 위한 블록내부의 움직임을 예측한다면 이를 바탕으로 탐색영역에서 초기 탐색점 위치와 탐색 패턴을 결정할 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 움직임의 높은 시간적 상관성을 이용하여 초기 탐색점 위치와 탐색 패턴을 결정함으로써 적응적으로 움직임을 추정하는 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 움직임 보상 예측된 화질 및 계산량의 감소에 있어서 높은 성능 향상을 보였다. Since motion estimation and motion compensation methods remove the redundant data to employ the temporal redundancy in images, it plays and important role in digital video compression. Because of its high computational complexity, however, it is difficult to apply to high-resolution applications in real time environments. If we have a priori knowledge about the motion of an image block before the motion estimation, the location of a better starting point for the search of an exact motion vector cam be determined to expedite the searching process. In this paper, we present an adaptive motion estimation approach based on temporal correlations of consecutive image frames that defines the search pattern and determines the location of the initial search point adaptively. Through experiments, we show significant improvements in the reduction of the computational time in terms of the number of search steps without much quality degradation in predicted image.

      • 콘크리트 구조물 보수용 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르의 제조 및 물성 연구

        라텍스로 처리한 초속경시멘트(RS-LMC)에 사용되는 라텍스의 안정성의 평가 및 안정성을 증대시키기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 비이온계 및 음이온계 계명활성제를 사용한 라텍스 시제품에 대하여 전기전도도를 측정하는 방법을 이용하여 안전성을 평가하였다. 라텍스를 PEG를 첨가한 후 라텍스 용액의 안정성에 미치는 영행을 평가하였다. 라텍스의 침전제로 CaCl_2를 사용하였다. 음이온계 계면활성제를 포함한 라텍스는 CaCl_2를 첨가하면, 즉시 침전현상이 발생되나, PEG를 처리한 경우에는 침전현상이 매우 느리게 일어나서 안정화 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 반면, 비이온계 계면활성제를 포함한 라텍스는 침전확인이 거의 발생되지 않아, 이러한 라텍스가 RS-LMC에 적합함을 확인하였다. 비이온계 계면활성제를 포함한 라텍스라 할지라도 1년이상 장기간 보존하면 안정성이 저하됨을 전기전도도를 측정하는 방법을 통하여 확인하였다. 장기간 보존한 라텍스의 경우 라텍스 용액내에서 미생물이 다량 성장하였음을 확인하였으며, 이러한 라텍스 용액의 경우 안정성이 저하됨을 알았다. In this study, the polymer-modified mortars has been made for investigating its physical properties, in which cement, polymer dispersions and redispersible polymer powder were used as a binder, and silica sand as the fine aggregate. The effects of polymer-cement ratio on strength properties, waterproofness, resistance of carbonation and resistance of chloride ion penetration of polymer-modified mortars were examined. Experimental results show that the flexural, compressive, tensile and adhesion in tension strengths of the polymer-modified mortars increased with increasing polymer-cement ratio. The water absorption, carbonation depth and chloride ion penetration depth of polymer-modified mortars tended to decrease with increasing polymer-binder ratio. Addition of the polymer dispersion and redispersible polymer powder were found to be effective for improving strength properties and durability of polymer-modified mortars.

      • 바이오매스로부터 생산한 바이오차에 의한 수질오염물질 흡착 : Adsorption of Water Pollution by Biochar Produced from Biomass

        Biochar is produced from lignocellulosic biomass (wood, agricultural and forestry waste, etc.) through thermal decomposition at high temperature. Water pollution (pesticides, dyes, heavy metals, and volatile organic compounds [VOCs]) can be efficiently removed by biochar. In particular, waste biomass is typically used as fuel or thrown away; thus, it is necessary to determine a valuable utilization for it. The process of biochar production is simple and suitable for the production of porous structures. In this paper, 1) biochar production and its characteristics based on biomass types, 2) research trends on the adsorption of water pollution (pesticides, dyes, heavy metals, VOCs) on biochar, and 3) expected effects are discussed.

      • 한국 관료제의 기능적 특성과 발전방향에 관한 연구

        A study of Korea Bureaucracy is very important theme. Based on the overlapping of traditional and modern elements characterized Korea Bureaucracy, this study has been carried out to analysis the problems caused by reciprotical heterogenity and to suggest the superable schemes for the desirable model of bureaucracy. Therefore as for the purpose of fulfilling the objects of this study, historical development of Korea Bureaucracy from the 1th Republic of Korea to the 5th Republic of Korea has been examined and then, through these traits, the effects and disfunctions that such traits affects to the attitude of Korean bureaucrats and bureaucracy has been analyzed. Finally some conclusion can be made from the viewpoint of Korea Bureaucracy development. The first, present disfunctional phenomena of bureaucracy is related to the mixed political culture and administrative culture. The second, prevailing disfunctional phenomena of bureaucracy is originated from the rapid changes, discontinuity of tradition and modernity, heterogenity and overlapping of traditional and modern elements. Because Korea administration is based on administrative functions and forms mixed with Korea, Japan, and America models, Korea Bureaucracy presents disfunctional characteristic.
