In our greenhouse experiment, soil heat treatment groups (50, 80, and 121°C) significantly promoted growth and disease suppression of Panax notoginseng in consecutively cultivated soil (CCS) samples (p < 0.01), and 80°C worked better than 50°C and 121°C (p < 0.01). Furthermore, we found that heat treatment at 80°C changes the microbial diversity in CCS, and the inhibition ratios of culturable microorganisms, such as fungi and actinomycetes, were nearly 100%. However, the heat-tolerant bacterial community was preserved. The 16S rRNA gene and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequencing analyses indicated that the soil heat treatment had a greater effect on the Chao1 index and Shannon’s diversity index of bacteria than fungi, and the relative abundances of Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were significantly higher than without heating (80 and 121°C, p < 0.05). Soil probiotic bacteria, such as Bacillus (67%), Sporosarcina (9%), Paenibacillus (6%), Paenisporosarcina (6%), and Cohnella (4%), remained in the soil after the 80°C and 121°C heat treatments. Although steam increased the relative abundances of most of the heat-tolerant microbes before sowing, richness and diversity gradually recovered to the level of CCS, regardless of fungi or bacteria, after replanting. Thus, we added heat-tolerant microbes (such as Bacillus) after steaming, which reduced the relative abundance of pathogens, recruited antagonistic bacteria, and provided a long-term protective effect compared to the steaming and Bacillus alone (p < 0.05). Taken together, the current study provides novel insight into sustainable agriculture in a consecutively cultivated system.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The sulfonated phenyl functionalized polystyrene-butadiene random copolymer was synthesized for application as flexible ion-exchange material. The polymer was prepared through phenyl functionalization via thiol-ene reaction and sulfonation of the base polystyrene-butadiene copolymer with different vinyl contents and phenyl contents. Sulfonation on phenyl functionalized polystyrene-butadiene copolymer was carried out in 1,2-dichloroethane at room temperature using the acetyl sulfonate as the sulfonation agent which was prepared from the reaction of acetyl acetate with sulfuric acid. The sulfonation degrees were adjusted from 7.3mol% to 24.3mol% determined by elemental analysis (EA) with great ion exchange capacity (0.60–2.26meq/g), conductivity (0.47–6.1mS/cm) and lower water uptake (5.1–12.8wt.%). Purpose: To report the 5-year follow-up results of a randomized controlled trial comparing bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) with standard monopolar TURP for the treatment of benign prostatic obstruction (BPO). Materials and Methods: A total of 220 patients were randomized to bipolar plasmakinetic TURP (PK-TURP) or monopolar TURP (M-TURP). Catheterization time was the primary endpoint of this study. Secondary outcomes included operation time, hospital stay, as well as decline in postoperative serum sodium and hemoglobin levels. All patients were assessed preoperatively and followed-up at 1, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, and 60 months postoperatively. Parameters assessed included quality of life, transrectal ultrasound, serum prostate-specific antigen level, postvoid residual urine volume, maximum urinary flow rates (Qmax), and International Prostate Symptom Score. Patient baseline characteristics, perioperative data including complications, and postoperative outcomes were compared. Complication occurrence was graded according to the modified Clavien classification system. Results: PK-TURP was significantly superior to M-TURP in terms of operation time, intraoperative irrigation volume, resected tissue weight, decreases in hemoglobin and sodium, postoperative irrigation volume and time, catheterization time, and hospital stay. At 5 years postoperatively, efficacy was comparable between arms. No differences were detected in safety outcomes except that the clot retention rate was significantly greater after M-TURP. Conclusion: Our results indicate that PK-TURP is equally as effective in the treatment of BPO, but has a more favorable safety profile in comparison to M-TURP. The clinical efficacy of PK-TURP is long-lasting and comparable with M-TURP.

Purpose: E-commerce Livestreaming is an important way for enterprises to attract customers. The existing research lacks in-depth exploration of the roles of E-commerce Livestreaming service quality and its impact on customer purchase intention. This study constructs a research model to explain the influence mechanism of E-commerce Livestreaming service quality on customer purchase intention. In this model, perceived value of commodity mediate the relationship between E-commerce Livestreaming service quality and customer purchase intention. Besides, the relationship between E-commerce Livestreaming and perceived value of commodity is moderated by self-consciousness. Research design, data, and methodology: An empirical analysis was conducted on viewers of E-commerce Livestreaming and 448 questionnaires were collected. Multiple linear regression method were used to conduct hypothesis testing and analysis the mediating effect of perceived value of commodity and moderating effect of self-consciousness. Results: The results shows that empathy, responsiveness, usefulness and charm of E-commerce Livestreaming significantly affect customer purchase intention and perceived value of commodity mediate the relationship between empathy, responsiveness, usefulness, charm of E-commerce Livestreaming and customer purchase intention. In addition, self-consciousness of customer has significant moderating effect on the paths of responsiveness, usefulness, charm of E-commerce Livestreaming to perceived value of commodity. Implications: According to this study, Enterprises can make full use of E-commerce Livestreaming service quality to improve perceived value of commodity, and then increase customer purchase intention. In addition, in the process of E-commerce Livestreaming service, measures should be taken to reduce the impact of customer self-consciousness.

Polymer-based catalysts have been of special interest because of their several advantages such as easyprocessibility. Inorganic catalyst generally have been introduced into polymer-based media to endowcatalytic activity. Surface decoration or sol–gel reaction have been performed so far, but inherent lowaffinity between organic/inorganic causes low efficiency in loading amount, resulting in low catalyticactivity. Herein, we synthesized easily processible and highly functionalizable polyoxazoline as polymernonwovenfiber-based catalytic supporter. Zr(OH)4 was grown on surface offiber-web via sol–gelreaction. The Zr(OH)4 grownfiber exhibited not only excellent mechanical properties but also effectivedecontamination efficiency against organophosphate-based toxic agents.

Several lines of evidence support the notion that MUC1 is often aberrantly expressed in gastric cancer, and it is a ligand for Helicobacter pylori. Genetic variation in MUC1 gene may confer susceptibility to H. pylori infection and gastric cancer. We assessed the association of common polymorphisms in MUC1 gene with H. pylori infection and non-cardia gastric cancer using an LD-based tag SNP approach in north-western Chinese Han population. A total of four SNPs were successfully genotyped among 288 patients with non-cardia gastric cancer and 281 age- and sex-matched controls. None of the tested SNPs was associated with H. pylori infection. SNP rs9426886 was associated with a decreased risk of non-cardia gastric cancer, but lost significance after adjustment for multiple testing. Overall, our data indicated that common genetic variations in MUC1 gene might not make a major contribution to the risk of H. pylori infection and non-cardia gastric cancer in our studied population.
A Convenient Dual-Side Anionic Initiator Based on 2,6-Luditine/s-Butyl Lithium

A novel convenient dual-side initiator of lutidine dianion for anionic polymerization has been investigated in terms of their initiation and propagation kinetics. This lutidine dianion could be synthesized in quantitative yields reacting commercial products of 2,6-lutidine with sec-butyl lithium without any complex organic synthesis, and could be used effectively as the dual-side initiator to synthesize polyisoprene with various molecular weights via living anionic polymerization. In addition, this lutidine dianion can produce 50% of 1.4-microstructure contents in polyisoprene which is very important for elastomeric property of polydienes. All experimental evidences showed the living property and were consistent with quantitative yields without any side reactions when the anionic living polymerization proceeded using lutidine dianion as the initiator.
Expression and Clinical Significance of miRNA-34a in Colorectal Cancer

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate differences of miRNA-34a expression in benign and malignant colorectal lesions. Materials and Methods: Samples of cancer, paraneoplastic tissues and polyps were selected and total RNA was extracted by conventional methods for real-time PCR to detect the miRNA-34a expression. In addition, the LOVO colorectal cancer cell line was cultured, treated with the demethylating agent 5-azacytidine and screened for differentially expressed miRNA-34a. Results: After the drug treatment, the miRNA-34a expression of colorectal cancer cell line LOVO was increased and real-time PCR showed that levels of expression in both cell line and colorectal cancer tissues were low, as compared to paraneoplastic tissue (p<0.05). Polyps tissues had significantly higher expression than paraneoplastic and colorectal cancer samples (p<0.05). Conclusions: miRNA-34a-5p may play a role as a tumor suppressor gene in colorectal cancer, with involvement of DNA methylation.
