ON THE GENERALIZED SET-VALUED MIXED VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES

        Zhao, Yali,Liu, Zeqing,Kang, Shin-Min Korean Mathematical Society 2003 대한수학회논문집 Vol.18 No.3

In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of the generalized set-valued mixed variational inequalities. Using the resolvent operator technique, we construct a new iterative algorithm for solving this class of the generalized set-valued mixed variational inequalities. We prove the existence of solutions for the generalized set-valued mixed variational inequalities and the convergence of the iterative sequences generated by the algorithm.

Transcriptome analysis of the livers of ducklings hatched normally and with assistance

        Yali Liu,Shishan He,Tao Zeng,Xue Du,Junda Shen,Ayong Zhao,Lizhi Lu 아세아·태평양축산학회 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.6

Objective: “Hatchability” is an important economic trait in domestic poultry. Studies on poultry hatchability focus mainly on the genetic background, egg quality, and incubation conditions, whereas the molecular mechanisms behind the phenomenon that some ducklings failed to break their eggshells are poorly understood. Methods: In this study, the transcriptional differences between the livers of normally hatched and assisted ducklings were systematically analyzed. Results: The results showed that the clean reads were de novo assembled into 161,804 and 159,083 unigenes (≥200-bp long) by using Trinity, with an average length of 1,206 bp and 882 bp, respectively. The defined criteria of the absolute value of log2 fold-change ≥1 and false discovery rate≤0.05 were differentially expressed and were significant. As a result, 1,629 unigenes were identified, the assisted ducklings showed 510 significantly upregulated and 1,119 significantly down-regulated unigenes. In general, the metabolic rate in the livers of the assisted ducklings was lower than that in the normal ducklings; however, compared to normal ducklings, glucose- 6-phosphatase and ATP synthase subunit alpha 1 associated with energy metabolism were significantly upregulated in the assisted group. The genes involved in immune defense such as major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigen alpha chain and MHC class II beta chain 1 were downregulated in the assisted ducklings. Conclusion: These data provide abundant sequence resources for studying the functional genome of the livers in ducks and other poultry. In addition, our study provided insight into the molecular mechanism by which the phenomenon of weak embryos is regulated.

      • Human Telomerase Gene and High-Risk Human Papillomavirus Infection are Related to Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia

Zhao, Xu-Ye,Cui, Yongm,Jiang, Shu-Fang,Liu, Ke-Jun,Han, Hai-Qiong,Liu, Xiao-Su,Li, Yali Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.2

Our aims were to evaluate the clinical performance of human telomerase RNA gene component (hTERC gene) amplification assay with high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) DNA test of Hybrid Capture 2 DNA test (HC2), for the detection of high grade cervical precancerous lesions and cancer (CIN 2+). In addition, the association shown between hTERC gene amplification and HPV DNA test positive in women with and without cervical neoplasia was assessed. There were 92 women who underwent cytology, HR-HPV DNA test, hTERC gene amplification test, colposcopy and biopsy. We compared the clinical performance of hTERC gene test along with HR-HPV DNA test of women with colposcopy and routine screening. The samples were histology-confirmed high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN 2) or worse (CIN2+) as the positive criterion. The test of hTERC gene showed the hTERC gene amplification positivity increased with the severity of histological abnormality and cytological abnormality. The test of hTERC gene showed higher specificity than HR-HPV DNA test for high-grade lesions (84.4% versus 50%) and also higher positive predictive value (90.4% versus 76.5%). Our results predicted that hTERC gene amplification demonstrated more specific performance for predicting the risk of progression and offer a strong potential as a tool for triage in cervical cancer screening, with the limited sensitive as HR-HPV DNA test.

Runner Training Angle Affects Growth of Runners in ‘Seolhyang’ and ‘Maehyang’ Strawberries

        Jin Zhao(조진),Yali Li(리야리),Yoo Gyeong Park(박유경),Jiangtao Hu(호강도),Byoung Ryong Jeong(정병룡) (사)한국생물환경조절학회 2020 생물환경조절학회지 Vol.29 No.3

Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.), a herbaceous perennial crop, is a popular fruit crop with high economical and nutritive values. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the runner training angle (RTA) on the length of internodes and number of runners produced in strawberry ‘Seolhyang’ and ‘Maehyang’ in an attempt to achieve a higher production rate of runner plants and increase the propagation efficiency. Runners were trained for 30 days to grow at an angle of 0° (vertically upward), 45°, 90° (horizontal), 135°, or 180° (hanging down) from the upward vertical axis. The experiment was carried out in a glasshouse with 29/20°C day/night temperatures, an average light intensity of 450 μmol·m-2··s-1 PPFD coming from the sun, and a natural photoperiod of 12 hours. For both ‘Seolhyang’ and ‘Maehyang’, the RTA affected number and length of runners, and number and fresh and dry weights of runner plants. Training at an angle of 135° or 180° shortened length of runners and internodes in ‘Seolhyang’. These RTAs also produced runner plants with the lowest fresh and dry weights in both cultivars. The RTA did not affect the runner diameter, but affected the runner morphology in both cultivars. As compared to a RTA of 135°, a 180° RTA increased number of runner plants produced, making it the most proliferative RTA.

      • Tuning ADRC for Multi-Variable System Based on Existing PID Parameters

        Chunzhe Zhao,Yali Xue,Chun-E Huang 제어로봇시스템학회 2016 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2016 No.10

Due to the long-time engineering practice, the existing PID controllers and their parameters contain the valuable information about the models of the industrial processes. Such information is absorbed to simplify the design and tuning process of the active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) in this study. If one channel of the multivariable system is stabilized by PID, then ADRC can be built to replace the PID scheme, and the ADRC parameters can be calculated from the PID parameters. This technique can be operated channel by channel until all channels are stabilized by ADRC, which is verified by simulations. Moreover, the simulations imply that the presented ADRC design and tuning method can generate the feasible parameters efficiently for the plants with unknown models.

P-hydroxybenzoic acid positively affect the Fusarium oxysporum to stimulate root rot in Panax notoginseng

        Jing Zhao,Zhandi Wang,Rong Jiao,Qionglian Wan,Lianchun Wang,Liangxing Li,Yali Yang,Shahzad Munir The Korean Society of Ginseng 2024 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.48 No.2

Background: Plant health is directly related to the change in native microbial diversity and changes in soil health have been implicated as one of the main cause of root rot. However, scarce information is present regarding allelopathic relationship of Panax notoginseng root exudates and pathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum in a continuous cropping system. Methods: We analyzed P. notoginseng root exudate in the planting soil for three successive years to determine phenolic acid concentration using GC-MS and HPLC followed by effect on the microbial community assembly. Antioxidant enzymes were checked in the roots to confirm possible resistance in P. notoginseng. Results: Total 29 allelochemicals in the planting soil extract was found with highest concentration (10.54 %) of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. The HPLC showing a year-by-year decrease in p-hydroxybenzoic acid content in soil of different planting years, and an increase in population of F. oxysporum. Moreover, community analysis displayed negative correlation with 2.22 mmol. L-1 of p-hydroxybenzoic acid correspond to an 18.1 % population of F. oxysporum. Furthermore, in vitro plate assay indicates that medium dose of p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2.5-5 mmol. L-1) can stimulate the growth of F. oxysporum colonies and the production of macroconidia, as well as cell wall-degrading enzymes. We found that 2-3 mmol. L-1 of p-hydroxybenzoic acid significantly increased the population of F. oxysporum. Conclusion: In conclusion, our study suggested that p-hydroxybenzoic acid have negative effect on the root system and modified the rhizosphere microbiome so that the host plant became more susceptible to root rot disease.

      • A reagent-assisted method in SERS detection of methyl salicylate

        Li, Yali,Li, Qianwen,Wang, Yanan,Oh, Joohee,Jin, Sila,Park, Yeonju,Zhou, Tieli,Zhao, Bing,Ruan, Weidong,Jung, Young Mee Elsevier 2018 Spectrochimica acta. Part A, Molecular and biomole Vol.195 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>With the explosive application of methyl salicylate (MS) molecules in food and cosmetics, the further detection of MS molecules becomes particularly important. Here we investigated the detection of MS molecules based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) in a novel molecule/assistant/metal system constructed with MS, 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) bis (benzoic acid) and Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs). The minimum detection concentration is 10−4 M. To explore the function of assisted reagent, we also referred another system without assistant molecules. The result demonstrates that SERS signals were not acquired, which proves that the assistant molecules are critical for the capture of MS molecules. Two possible mechanisms of MS/assistant/AgNPs system were speculated through two patterns of hydrogen bonds. The linker molecules acted as the role of the bridge between metallic substrates and target molecules through the molecular recognition. This strategy is very beneficial to the expanding of MS detection techniques and other hydrogen bond based coupling detections with SERS.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A novel molecule/assistant/metal system was constructed to achieve the SERS detection of methyl salicylate. </LI> <LI> The intermolecular hydrogen bond was employed as the driving force to accomplish the assembly. </LI> <LI> The obstacle of non-adsorption of target molecules on substrates was solved through the hydrogen-bond-based assembly method. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical Abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
