The microwave magnetism of epitaxy LiFe5O8 thin film modulated by thickness

        Jiao Yang,Jianfei Lei,Kai Du,Xudong Zheng,Xiujuan Jin 한국물리학회 2020 Current Applied Physics Vol.20 No.4

Spinel lithium ferrite LiFe5O8 (LFO) has attracted robust research interests due to their potential applications in isolators, circulators, and phase shifters. In this work, a series of LFO thin film with various thickness were fabricated on SrTiO3 (STO) single-crystalline substrates by pulsed laser deposition technology. We systematically investigated the influences of the thickness of LFO thin film on the crystal structure and magnetic properties. The in-plane lattice parameter a and in-plane lattice parameter c were modulated by controlling the thickness of LFO thin film, which was confirmed using reciprocal space mappings (RSMs) technology. Furthermore, the microwave magnetism of LFO thin film with various thickness were studied systematically by ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) measurement. Moreover, with increasing the thickness of LFO thin film from 50 to 180 nm, the difference of the ferromagnetic resonance field between easy- and hard-magnetization axis can be enhanced and reach to 330 Oe. These results illustrate that dynamic magnetic properties can be controlled by tuning the thickness of LFO thin film. Our work provides an effective method to tailor the lattice parameter and modify the magnetic properties of the LFO thin film and contributes to further design high-frequency functional device.

Fabrication of High-Aspect-Ratio Microwire Electrodes Using a Vertical Liquid Membrane Electrochemical Etching Method

Yumeng Sang,Xiujuan Wu,Yongbin Zeng,Tao Yang 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.7

A vertical liquid membrane electrochemical etching method is proposed for the fabrication of high-aspect-ratio microwire electrodes. The potential and current density distributions are simulated using COMSOL software. The simulation results show that the unique potential distribution generated by the proposed method, combined with reciprocating linear motion of the wire electrode, can be used to fabricate microwire electrodes with large aspect ratio. These simulation results are verified experimentally. Different concentrations of electrolyte result in different reaction rates and thus different distributions of the diffusion layer and different bubble flows, resulting in different morphologies of the prepared wire electrodes. The effect of electrolyte concentrations is studied experimentally. At low electrolyte concentrations, the products of electrolysis are removed from the processing area under the action of gravity, and uniform electrodes with high aspect ratio can be prepared. At high electrolyte concentrations, intense bubble production destroys the diffusion layer around the electrode and leads to a dynamic equilibrium state, allowing the preparation of uniform wire electrodes in a rough machining process. The proposed method can prepare wire electrodes with different initial diameters. In this paper, uniform wire electrodes of length 1900 μm, diameter 7 μm, and aspect ratio 270 are fabricated by the proposed method from a tungsten wire of initial diameter 50 μm.

Photocatalytic Activity of Nitrogen-Doped Mesoporous Carbon Spheres Supporting Anatase TiO2 Prepared by a Simple Two-Step Solvothermal Approach

        Tianjiao Bi,Jiafeng Wan,Shilin Yang,Xiujuan Yu,Fangwei Ma 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2015 NANO Vol.10 No.5

Nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon spheres (NMCSs) supporting anatase TiO2 (NMCSs – TiO2) were prepared by a simple two-step solvothermal approach. The characterizations for the physicochemical properties of prepared samples under different solvothermal temperatures were carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption – desorption (Brunauer – Emmett – Teller (BET) measurements), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Raman scattering and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra, were combined in order to determine the crystal phase and grain size, shape, degree of mesoporous carbon incorporation, and nature of the resultant oxy-carbide chemical bonding on the surface and in the bulk. The high relative photocatalytic activity of NMCSs – TiO2 nanoparticle was evaluated through a study of the decomposition of phenol under visible-light excitation.

An Improved Thermal Conductivity Model for Unsaturated Clay

        Xinye Song,Henghui Fan,Jiawei Liu,Xiujuan Yang 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.24 No.8

The thermal properties of soils vary because of the different textures of soils; thus, it is valuable to conduct research on the development of thermal conductivity models for soils with different textures. Clay samples with different dry densities and increasing incremental water contents were prepared, their thermal conductivities were measured by the transient plane source (TPS) method. The experimental results show that the thermal conductivity of clay increases with increasing water content and dry density. The water content has a stronger influence than the dry density on the thermal conductivity. This paper presents an improved model to predict the thermal conductivity of unsaturated clay. The model considers the different contributions of minerals in the soil and the distribution of water and air in pores. The accuracy of the model is verified by soil thermal conductivity data that was previously measured and collected from ten regions. Compared with the three similar models proposed in the literature, the new model proposed in this paper has a higher degree of correlation to describe the thermal conductivity of clay.

        RPK118, a PX Domain-containing Protein, Interacts with Peroxiredoxin-3 through Pseudo-Kinase Domains

        Long Yu,Lingling Liu,Chenyi Yang,Jian Yuan,Xiujuan Chen,Jianing Xu,Youheng Wei,Jingchun Yang,Gang Lin 한국분자세포생물학회 2005 Molecules and cells Vol.19 No.1

RPK118 is a sphingosine kinase-1-binding protein that has been implicated in sphingosine 1 phosphate-mediated signaling. It contains a PX (phox homology) domain and two pseudo-kinase domains, and co-localizes with sphingosine kinase-1 on early endosomes. In this study we identified a novel RPK118-binding protein, PRDX3 (peroxiredoxin-3), by yeast two-hybrid screening. The interaction between these proteins was confirmed by pull-down assays and co-immunoprecipitation experi-ments. Deletion studies showed that RPK118 inter-acted with PRDX3 through its pseudokinase domains, and with early endosomes through its PX domain. Dou-ble immunofluorescence experiments demonstrated that PRDX3 co-localized with RPK118 on early endosomes in COS7 cells. PRDX3 is a member of the antioxidant family of proteins synthesized in the cytoplasm and functioning in mitochondria. Our findings indicate that RPK118 is a PRDX3-binding protein that may be involved in transporting PRDX3 from the cytoplasm to its mitochondrial site of function or to other mem-brane structures via endosome trafficking

Comparison of Fecal Microbiota of Mongolian and Thoroughbred Horses by High-throughput Sequencing of the V4 Region of the 16S rRNA Gene

        Zhao, Yiping,Li, Bei,Bai, Dongyi,Huang, Jinlong,Shiraigo, Wunierfu,Yang, Lihua,Zhao, Qinan,Ren, Xiujuan,Wu, Jing,Bao, Wuyundalai,Dugarjaviin, Manglai Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2016 Animal Bioscience Vol.29 No.9

The hindgut of horses is an anaerobic fermentative chamber for a complex and dynamic microbial population, which plays a critical role in health and energy requirements. Research on the gut microbiota of Mongolian horses has not been reported until now as far as we know. Mongolian horse is a major local breed in China. We performed high-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA genes V4 hypervariable regions from gut fecal material to characterize the gut microbiota of Mongolian horses and compare them to the microbiota in Thoroughbred horses. Fourteen Mongolian and 19 Thoroughbred horses were used in the study. A total of 593,678 sequence reads were obtained from 33 samples analyzed, which were found to belong to 16 phyla and 75 genera. The bacterial community compositions were similar for the two breeds. Firmicutes (56% in Mongolian horses and 53% in Thoroughbred horses) and Bacteroidetes (33% and 32% respectively) were the most abundant and predominant phyla followed by Spirochaete, Verrucomicrobia, Proteobacteria, and Fibrobacteres. Of these 16 phyla, five (Synergistetes, Planctomycetes, Proteobacteria, TM7, and Chloroflexi) were significantly different (p<0.05) between the two breeds. At the genus level, Treponema was the most abundant genus (43% in Mongolian horses vs 29% in Thoroughbred horses), followed by Ruminococcus, Roseburia, Pseudobutyrivibrio, and Anaeroplasma, which were detected in higher distribution proportion in Mongolian horses than in Thoroughbred horses. In contrast, Oscillibacter, Fibrobacter, Methanocorpusculum, and Succinivibrio levels were lower in Mongolian horses. Among 75 genera, 30 genera were significantly different (p<0.05) between the two breeds. We found that the environment was one of very important factors that influenced horse gut microbiota. These findings provide novel information about the gut microbiota of Mongolian horses and a foundation for future investigations of gut bacterial factors that may influence the development and progression of gastrointestinal disease in horses.
