Sweet Dream Liquid Chinese Medicine Ameliorates Learning and Memory Deficit in a Rat Model of Paradoxical Sleep Deprivation through the ERK/CREB Signaling Pathway

        Xinyun Su,Chunhua Wang,Xiuhua Wang,Fang Han,Changjun Lv,Xiuli Zhang 한국식품영양과학회 2016 Journal of medicinal food Vol.19 No.5

Sweet dream oral liquid (SDOL), a traditional Chinese herbal compound contains 17 traditional Chinese medicines. It has various pharmacological effects, such as improving brain dysfunction and increasing sleeping quality. This study investigated the neuroprotective effect and the underlying mechanisms of SDOL-impaired hippocampus learning and memory-induced paradoxical sleep deprivation (PSD) in rats. Sixty Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups. Before PSD, SDOL treatment group rats were intragastrically administered SDOL for 25 days at dose of 2.1, 4.2, and 8.4mL/kg body weight per day. Normal control group, large platform control group, and PSD groups were treated with normal saline instead of SDOL. After 25 days treatment, PSD and SDOL groups were deprived of paradoxical sleep for 72 h. Then two behavioral studies were conducted to test the spatial learning and memory ability using the open field test and Morris water maze test. Expression of the c-fos, c-jun, cyclic AMP response element binding protein (CREB), extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK), mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK)/ERK kinase (MEK), and p-CREB, p-ERK, and p-MEK in the hippocampus were also assayed by western blot. In this study, PSD decreased the levels of p-CREB, p-ERK, p-MEK, c-fos, and c-jun. However, SDOL treatment increased expressions of these proteins. Our results showed that SDOL improved 72-h PSD-induced cognitive impairment. These affects may be mediated by increasing the contents of c-fos, c-jun, and p-CREB/ERK signaling.

A Lightweight Pedestrian Intrusion Detection and Warning Method for Intelligent Traffic Security

        Xinyun Yan,Zhengran He,Youxiang Huang,Xiaohu Xu,Jie Wang,Xiaofeng Zhou,Chishe Wang,Zhiyi Lu 한국인터넷정보학회 2022 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.16 No.12

As a research hotspot, pedestrian detection has a wide range of applications in the field of computer vision in recent years. However, current pedestrian detection methods have problems such as insufficient detection accuracy and large models that are not suitable for large-scale deployment. In view of these problems mentioned above, a lightweight pedestrian detection and early warning method using a new model called you only look once (Yolov5) is proposed in this paper, which utilizing advantages of Yolov5s model to achieve accurate and fast pedestrian recognition. In addition, this paper also optimizes the loss function of the batch normalization (BN) layer. After sparsification, pruning and fine-tuning, got a lot of optimization, the size of the model on the edge of the computing power is lower equipment can be deployed. Finally, from the experimental data presented in this paper, under the training of the road pedestrian dataset that we collected and processed independently, the Yolov5s model has certain advantages in terms of precision and other indicators compared with traditional single shot multiBox detector (SSD) model and fast region-convolutional neural network (Fast R-CNN) model. After pruning and lightweight, the size of training model is greatly reduced without a significant reduction in accuracy, and the final precision reaches 87%, while the model size is reduced to 7,723 KB.

Microstructure Evolution and Modeling of 2024 Aluminum Alloy Sheets During Hot Deformation Under Different Stress States

        Lei Deng,Peng Zhou,Xinyun Wang,Junsong Jin,Ting Zhao 대한금속·재료학회 2018 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.24 No.1

In this work, specimens of the 2024 aluminum alloy sheet were compressed and stretched along the original rollingdirection at elevated temperatures. The microstructure evolution was investigated by characterizing the metallographicstructures via electron backscattered diffraction technology before and after deformation. It was foundthat while recrystallization occurred in the compressed specimens, it was not observed to the same extent in thestretched specimens. This difference in the grain morphology has been attributed to the different movement behaviorsof the grain boundaries, i.e., their significant migration in the compression deformation and the transformationfrom low-angle to high-angle boundaries observed mainly during tension deformation. The empirical model, which can describe the grain size evolution during compression, is not suitable in the case of tension, and therefore,a new model which ignores the detailed recrystallization process has been proposed. This model provides adescription of the grain size change during hot deformation and can be used to predict the grain size in the plasticdeformation process.

Optimization of ultrasound-assisted extraction of indigo and indirubin from Isatis indigotica Fort. and their antioxidant capacities

        Guihong Zhao,Tao Li,Xinyun Qu,Nini Zhang,Miao Lu,Jing Wang 한국식품과학회 2017 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.26 No.5

An effective method for the ultrasound-assisted extraction of indigo and indirubin from Isatis indigotica Fort. was established and their antioxidant activities were investigated. Response surface methodology based on a three-level, four-factor Box–Behnken design was used to optimize the extraction conditions. Analysis of variance showed that the quadratic model was significant for the extraction of indigo and indirubin (112.72% ± 1.65% and 116.42% ± 1.27%, respectively) under the optimal conditions (methanol concentration, 80%; extraction time, 25 min; ratio of solid to liquid, 1:34 g/mL; and extraction temperature, 41 C) and was in good agreement with the predicted value. Moreover, evaluation of the antioxidant activities suggested that indigo and indirubin presented better scavenging effects on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical and superoxide radical than the extract and the extract revealed certain antioxidant activities in hydroxyl radical scavenging and reducing power, and indigo and indirubin could be used as natural antioxidants in the food or medicine industry.
