For conventional interleaved two-phase forward converters with a common output inductor, the maximum duty cycle is 0.5, which limits the voltage range and increases the difficulty of the transformer’s optimization. A new two-phase hybrid forward converter with series-parallel auto-regulated transformer windings is presented in this paper. With interleaved control signals for the two phases, the secondary windings of the transformers can work in series when the duty cycle is larger than 0.5, and they can work in parallel when duty cycle is lower than 0.5. Therefore, the maximum duty cycle is extended and the turns ratio of the transformer can be optimized. Duty cycle dependent auto-regulated windings result in the steady states of the converter being different in different duty cycle ranges (D>0.5 and D<0.5). Fortunately, the steady state gains of the proposed hybrid converter are identical at different duty cycle ranges, which means a stepless shift between two states. A prototype is built to verify the theoretical analysis. A conventional control loop is compatible for the whole input voltage range and load range thanks to the stepless shifting between the different duty cycle ranges.

LLC resonant converter is an excellent candidate for medium power DC/DC converter. However, it is usually used in constant voltage output application. As for the DC/DC stage in high efficiency LED driver, the output voltage may vary widely while output current remains constant. This paper proposes a new design method which is suitable for wide output range application. Design process, analysis and optimization of design parameters are also discussed in detail. A 140W experimental prototype is built to verify the design and proved a high efficiency after optimization. Experimental result shows LLC is a good topology choice for LED driver for it is highly efficient throughout wide output voltage range.

Rotary spray drying technology with bypass flue is widely adopted to realize the zero-discharge of desulfurizationwastewater in coal-fired power stations. Significantly, the deflector structure of the dryingtower is an essential factor affecting the evaporation performance of desulfurization wastewater. Thispaper is aimed to study the effect of the angle and number of the deflectors on the evaporation performancein a drying tower of a 600 MW coal-fired station. Results show that the gas distributor dividesthe flue gas into internal and external parts, and the flue gas in the internal channel is the main factoraffecting the evaporation performance. The deflector angles (especially for the internal deflector) havea remarkable impact on the evaporation behaviors, while the deflector numbers just have a minor effecton that. When the deflector number is 24 and the angles of internal and external deflectors are set at 0and 45, respectively, a better evaporation performance is obtained with the weighted average time ofapproximately 0.17 s and the complete evaporation distance of approximately 3.93 m. These optimal settingsare adopted in the actual operation, and the industrial measured results show good performance isobtained.

A trial was conducted to study the influence of different levels of a commercial enzyme complex on performance, nutrient availability, blood parameters, digestive tract measurements, amylase and trypsin activity of the digestive tract and gut morphology in broilers fed the typical diets in north China. There were four treatments: the control diet and the other three enzyme complex supplemented diets which were 180 mg/kg, 360 mg/kg and 720 mg/kg enzyme complex supplemented to the control diet, respectively. The birds fed the diets supplemented with 180 mg/kg and 360 mg/kg enzyme complex had better performance and nutrient availability, the activities of amylase and trypsin in the digestive tract in the two treatments were improved, the villus height and surface area of villus in the small intestine increased and the crypt depth and epithelial thickness of small intestine decreased. Relative weights of pancreas and relative weights and lengths of small intestine decreased. However, the addition of 720 mg/kg enzyme complex had no effects on these parameters and increased crypt depth and epithelial thickness of the small intestine. The data suggested that suitable supplementation of enzyme complex was beneficial for the birds, while excess enzyme complex inhibited secretion of endogenous enzyme and destroyed the structure of the small intestine.
