Novel In Situ Synthesized Fe@C Magnetic Nanocapsules Used as Adsorbent for Removal of Organic Dyes and Its Recycling

        Ranran Li,Jieyi Yu,Asif Shah,Xinglong Dong,Xiaona Li,Hongtao Yu,Xie Quan,Youngguan Jung 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2016 NANO Vol.11 No.2

Core/shell type carbon-coated Fe nanocapsules (Fe@C NCs) were in situ synthesized by DC arcdischarge plasma method in methane atmosphere. Such Fe nanocapsules have saturation magnetization of 29.32 emu/g and specific surface area of 85.86 m2/g. The carbon shell of Fe@C NCs was functionalized with oxygen-containing groups (such as –OH or –COOH) by using H2O2. The adsorption of organic dye, e.g., methylene blue (MB) was systematically investigated in different conditions, such as contact time, pH values and temperature. The maximum adsorption capacity (46.5 mg/g) was calculated by fitting the adsorption isotherms with Langmuir model, coincident with the experimental result of 44.5 mg/g. Kinetics data supported pseudo-second order model, and the thermodynamic process of adsorption was revealed as endothermic and spontaneous physisorption. The MB-absorbed Fe@C NCs can be entirely separated from the contaminative solution by a magnetic field and then successfully cycled for regeneration. After repetitive cycles of the adsorption/desorption experiments for five times, the removal efficiency can be maintained over 90%.

MINIMUM TIME LANE CHANGING PROBLEM OF VEHICLE HANDLING INVERSE DYNAMICS CONSIDERING THE DRIVER'S INTENTION

        Xinglong Zhang,Youqun Zhao,Wenxin Zhang,Fen Lin,Haiqing Li 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.1

By solving driver’s optimal handling input, this paper presents a novel Lane Changing Assistance System (LCAS) which can provide guidance for driver’s lane changing behavior. In addition, vehicle handling inverse dynamics method is proposed to solve driver’s optimal handling input. Firstly, to recognize driver’s lane changing intention and decrease the false alarm rate of LCAS, a lane changing intention recognition model is established. Secondly, the handling inverse dynamics model is established; and then the inverse dynamics problem is converted into the optimal control problem. Finally, the optimal control problem is converted into a nonlinear programming problem based on GPM; then sequential quadratic programming (SQP) is applied to get the solution. The direct collocation method (DCM) is used as the contrast verification of GPM. The simulation results show that the driver’s optimal handling input can be obtained according to driver’s lane changing intention in the proposed LCAS; and GPM has higher computational accuracy compared with DCM. This method may provide a reference for the research of LCAS and unmanned vehicles.

Enhancement of Signal-to-noise Ratio Based on Multiplication Function for Phi-OTDR

        Meng Li,Xinglong Xiong,Yifei Zhao,Yuzhao Ma 한국광학회 2018 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.2 No.5

We propose a novel methodology based on the multiplication function to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for vibration detection in a phi optical time-domain reflectometer system (phi-OTDR). The extreme-mean complementary empirical mode decomposition (ECEMD) is designed to break down the original signal into a set of inherent mode functions (IMFs). The multiplication function in terms of selected IMFs is used to determine a vibration’s position. By this method, the SNR of a phi-OTDR system is enhanced by several orders of magnitude. Simulations and experiments applying the method to real data prove the validity of the proposed approach.

      • Isolation and Molecular Characterization of a New CRT Binding Factor Gene from Capsella bursa-pastoris

Wang, Xinglong,Liu, Li,Liu, Sixiu,Sun, Xiaoqing,Deng, Zhongxiang,Pi, Yan,Sun, Xiaofen,Tang, Kexuan Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2004 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.37 No.5

A new CRT binding factor (CBF) gene designated Cbcbf25 was cloned from Capsella bursa-pastoris, a wild grass, by the rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). The full-length cDNA of Cbcbf25 was 898 bp with a 669 bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding a putative DRE/CRT (LTRE)-binding protein of 223 amino acids. The predicted CbCBF25 protein contained a potential nuclear localization signal (NLS) in its N-terminal region followed by an AP2 DNA-binding motif and a possible acidic activation domain in the C-terminal region. Bioinformatic analysis revealed that Cbcbf25 has a high level of similarity with other CBF genes like cbf1, cbf2, and cbf3 from Arabidopsis thaliana, and Bncbf5, Bncbf7, Bncbf16, and Bncbf17 from Brassica napus. A cold acclimation assay showed that Cbcbf25 was expressed immediately after cold triggering, but this expression was transient, suggesting that it concerns cold acclimation. Our study implies that Cbcbf25 is an analogue of other CBF genes and may participate in cold-response, by for example, controlling the expression of cold-regulated genes or increasing the freezing tolerance of plants.

The effects of light colour on female rabbit reproductive performance and the expression of key genes in follicular development

        Xiaoqing Pan,Xinglong Wang,Le Shao,Jie Yang,Feng Qin,Jian Li,Xia Zhang,Pin Zhai 한국축산학회 2022 한국축산학회지 Vol.64 No.3

The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of light colour on rabbit reproductive performance and the expression of key follicular development genes. Rabbits (n = 1,068, 5 months old, 3.6–4.4 kg live body weight) were divided randomly into four groups, housed individually in wire mesh cages and exposed to red, green, blue, and white light-emitting diode (LED) light (control). The lighting schedule was 16 L : 8 D-15 d / 150 lx / 6:00 am–22:00 pm (3 d preartificial insemination to 12 d postartificial insemination). Red light and white light affected the conception rate and kindling rate and increased the total litter size at birth (p < 0.05). The effects of red light on litter size at weaning, litter weight at weaning, and individual weight at weaning increased compared with the green and blue groups. The effects of red light on live litter size at birth were increased compared with those in the blue group (p < 0.05). Compared to white light, green and blue light reduced the number of secondary follicles (p < 0.05). Compared to red light, green and blue light reduced the number of tertiary follicles (p < 0.05). Compared with white light, red LED light resulted in greater ovarian follicle stimulating hormone receptor and luteinizing hormone receptor mRNA expression (p < 0.05). Compared with green and blue LED light, red LED light resulted in greater B-cell lymphom-2 mRNA expression (p < 0.05). Compared with green LED light, red LED light inhibited FOXO1 mRNA expression in rabbit ovaries (p < 0.05). Red light can affect the reproductive performance of female rabbits and the expression of key genes for follicular development.

Reliability assessment method based on the meta-action unit for complex mechanical system

Xiao Zhu,Yan Ran,Xinglong Li 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.3

In this paper, a functionality unit named as meta-action unit (MAU) is proposed to correlate the system function with the part actions and assess reliability of mechanical system. Firstly, the function of system is decomposed into multiple MAUs by function-movementaction (FMA). Then, the lifetime of MAU is fitted by Weibull distribution, and its parameters are estimated by support vector regression (SVR). In addition, taking the distributions of MAU as marginal distributions, the lifetime distribution of mechanical system is constructed by copula function to assess system reliability, and its parameters are estimated using the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). Further, the reliability assessment accuracy based on MAU is compared with that from traditional method based on mechanical part failure modes. Finally, the reliability assessment of the indexing turntable (IT) is performed as an example to illustrate the feasibility and reasonability of the proposed method.

Effect of 3C-SiC Intermediate Layer in GaN-Based Light Emitting Diodes Grown on Si(111) Substrate

        Youhua Zhu,Meiyu Wang,Yi Li,Shuxin Tan,Honghai Deng,Xinglong Guo,Haihong Yin,Takashi Egawa 대한금속·재료학회 2017 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.13 No.2

GaN-based light emitting diodes (LEDs) have been grown by metalorganicchemical vapor deposition on Si(111) substrate with and without3C-SiC intermediate layer (IL). Structural property has been characterizedby means of atomic force microscope, X-ray diffraction, andtransmission electron microscope measurements. It has been revealedthat a significant improvement in crystalline quality of GaN and superlatticeepitaxial layers can be achieved by using 3C-SiC as IL. Regardingof electrical and optical characteristics, it is clearly observed that theLEDs with its IL have a smaller leakage current and higher light outputpower comparing with the LEDs without IL. The better performance ofLEDs using 3C-SiC IL can be contributed to both of the improvementsin epitaxial layers quality and light extraction efficiency. As aconsequence, in terms of optical property, a double enhancement of thelight output power and external quantum efficiency has been realized.

MRTF-A-NF-κB/p65 axis-mediated PDL1 transcription and expression contributes to immune evasion of non-small-cell lung cancer via TGF-β

        Du Fu,Qi Xin,Zhang Aotong,Sui Fanfan,Wang Xuemin,Proud Christopher G.,Lin Cunzhi,Fan Xinglong,Li Jing 생화학분자생물학회 2021 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.53 No.-

PD-L1 is abnormally regulated in many cancers and is critical for immune escape. Fully understanding the regulation of PD-L1 expression is vital for improving the clinical efficacy of relevant anticancer agents. TGF-β plays an important role in the low reactivity of PD-1/PD-L1 antibody immunotherapy. However, it is not very clear whether and how TGF-β affects PD-L1 expression. In the present study, we show that TGF-β upregulates the expression of the transcriptional coactivator MRTF-A in non-small-cell lung cancer cells, which subsequently interacts with NF-κB/p65 rather than SRF to facilitate the binding of NF-κB/p65 to the PDL1 promoter, thereby activating the transcription and expression of PD-L1. This leads to the immune escape of NSCLC cells. This process is dependent on the activation of the TGF-β signaling pathway. In vivo, inhibition of MRTF-A effectively suppresses the growth of lung tumor s y ngrafts with enrichment of NK and T cells in tumor tissue. Our study defines a new signaling pathway that regulates the transcription and expression of PD-L1 upon TGF-β treatment, which may have a significant impact on research into the application of immunotherapy in treating lung cancer.
