The metastasis-associated gene 1 (MTA1) oncogene hasbeen suggested to be involved in the regulation of cancer progression. However, there is still no direct evidence that MTA1 regulates cisplatin (CDDP) resistance, as well as cancer stem cell properties. In this study, we found that MTA1 was enriched in CNE1/CDDP cells. Knock down of MTA1 in CNE1/CDDP cells reversed CSCs properties and CDDP resistance. However, ectopic expression of MTA1 in CNE1 cells induced CSCs phenotypes and CDDP insensitivity. Interestingly, ectopic overexpression of MTA1-induced CSCs properties and CDDP resistance were reversed in CNE1 cells after inhibition of PI3K/Akt by LY294002. In addition, MTA1 expression and Akt activity in CNE1/CDDP cells was much higher than that in CNE1 cells. These results suggested that MTA1 may play a critical role in promoting CDDP resistance in NPC cells by regulatingcancer stem cell properties via thePI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Our findings suggested that MTA1 may be a potential target for overcoming CDDP resistance in NPC therapy.
The Construction of “Color Dialect” in Hainan Paper Quilling Tourist Souvenir Art
Zhang Xiaohua 인문사회과학예술융합학회 2018 인문사회과학예술융합학회지 Vol.2 No.2
The "dialect" presented by colors is an attractive geographical element of tour souvenirs. At present, tour souvenirs of different tour spots are undifferentiated, analogical and homogeneous. Taking the art of paper quilling in Hainan province as an example, this paper analyzes design present situation of Hainan tourist souvenir, and thinking about the regionalization of tourist souvenirs in view of the perception, design and communication of color dialects, It is suggested that the tour souvenir products and their packaging design should skillfully absorb the geographical element of color dialects, helping the tour souvenirs to shape and promote the brand image and providing an advanced way for the inheritance of ethnic artistic features. Key words: Hainan paper quilling; tour souvenirs; color dialects; regional culture

HDRE: Coverage Hole Detection with Residual Energy in Wireless Sensor Networks
Yun-zhou Zhang,Xiaohua Zhang,Wenyan Fu,Zeyu Wang,Honglei Liu 한국통신학회 2014 Journal of communications and networks Vol.16 No.5
Coverage completeness is an important indicator forquality of service in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Due to limitedenergy and diverse working conditions, the sensor nodes havedifferent lifetimes which often cause network holes. Most of the existingmethods expose large limitation and one-sidedness becausethey generally consider only one aspect, either coverage rate or energyissue. This paper presents a novel method for coverage holedetection with residual energy in randomly deployed wireless sensornetworks. By calculating the life expectancy of working nodesthrough residual energy, we make a trade-off between network repaircost and energy waste. The working nodes with short lifetimeare screened out according to a proper ratio. After that, the locationsof coverage holes can be determined by calculating the jointcoverage probability and the evaluation criteria. Simulation resultshows that compared to those traditional algorithms without considerationof energy problem, our method can effectively maintainthe coverage quality of repairedWSN while enhancing the life spanof WSN at the same time.
Mechanism analysis of switching direction transformation in an Er2O3 based RRAM device
Shuangsuo Mao,Guangdong Zhou,Bai Sun,Hosameldeen Elshekh,Xiaohua Zhang,Xiaohua Zhang,Feng Yang,Yong Zhao 한국물리학회 2019 Current Applied Physics Vol.19 No.12
The resistive random access memory (RRAM) based on resistive switching effect has considered to be the most advanced next generation memory, in which the switching direction determines the order of reading-writing. In this work, the rare-earth metal Er2O3 was used as functional layer, and Ag and indium-tin-oxide (ITO) are selected as top and bottom electrode to fabricate resistive switching device. Further, it is observed that the switching direction and memory window of resistive switching device can be regulated by exchanging top and bottom electrode. Moreover, the complementary switching memory behavior in Ag/Er2O3/ITO/Er2O3/Ag structure was also observed. Through mechanism analysis, it is expected that the barrier changes and metal-ions oxidation-reduction should be responsible for the conversion of switching direction and regulation of memory window. This work opens up a way to the development of next generation new concept memory.

Radix Tinosporae is a herb widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases. In the present study, its anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activities were investigated. The ethanol extract of Radix Tinosporae exhibited significant inhibitory effects on xylene-induced ear edema and acetic acid-induced writhing in mice. Using bioassay-guided fractionation, the n-butanol fraction was determined as the active fraction. Further purification of the most active n-butanol fraction led to the isolation of three compounds, palmatine, columbamine and columbinyl glucoside. All three compounds showed inhibitory activities on xylene-induced ear edema, but only palmatine and columbamine exhibited significant inhibitory effects on acetic acid-induced writhing. In addition, palmatine and columbamine markedly inhibited in vitro production of nitric oxide and nuclear factor-κB activation in RAW264.7 macrophage cells in response to lipopolysaccharide or tumor necrosis factor α stimulation. These results provide justification for the utilization of Radix Tinosporae in Chinese folk medicine for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
