Background: Red-skin root of Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng) significantly reduces the quality and limits the production of ginseng in China. The disease has long been thought to be a noninfectious physiological disease, except one report that proved it was an infectious disease. However, the causal agents have not been successfully determined. In the present study, we were to reveal the pathogens that cause red-skin disease. Methods: Ginseng roots with red-skin root symptoms were collected from commercial fields in Northeast China. Fungi were isolated from the lesion and identified based on morphological characters along with multilocus sequence analyses on internal transcription spacer, β-tubulin (tub2), histone H3 (his3), and translation elongation factor 1α (tef-1α). Pathogens were confirmed by inoculating the isolates in ginseng roots. Results: A total of 230 isolates were obtained from 209 disease samples. These isolates were classified into 12 species, including Dactylonectria sp., D. hordeicola, Fusarium acuminatum, F. avenaceum, F. solani, F. torulosum, Ilyonectria mors-panacis, I. robusta, Rhexocercosporidium panacis, and three novel species I. changbaiensis, I. communis, and I. qitaiheensis. Among them, I. communis, I. robusta, and F. solani had the highest isolation frequencies, being 36.1%, 20.9%, and 23.9%, respectively. All these species isolated were pathogenic to ginseng roots and caused red-skin root disease under appropriate condition. Conclusion: Fungal complex is the causal agent of red-skin root in P. ginseng.

Nogo protein, encoded by gene reticulon-4 (RTN4), includes three major isoforms by different splicing, named Nogo-A Nogo-B and Nogo-C. Nogo proteins play an important role in the apoptosis of cells, especially in tumor cells. RTN4 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) can influence the efficiency of transcription and translation thus being related with an individual's predisposition to cancer. The CAA insertion/deletion polymorphism (rs34917480) within RTN4 3'-UTR has been reported to be associated with many cancer types. In order to investigate the relationship between this polymorphism and susceptibility to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the Chinese population, we conducted the present case-control study including 411 NSCLC patients and 471 unrelated healthy controls. The genotype distributions were significantly different between cases and controls (p=0.014). We found that the del allele could significantly increase NSCLC risk (ins/ins vs ins/del: p=0.007, OR 1.46, 95%CI=1.11-1.93; dominant model: p=0.004, OR 1.47, 95%CI=1.13-1.92 and allele model: p=0.008, OR 1.35, 95%CI=1.08-1.67). This association was stronger in participants over 60 years old, males and smokers. We therefore conclude that the CAA insertion/deletion polymorphism (rs34917480) contributes to non-small cell lung cancer risk in Chinese population. Age, sex and environmental exposure are also related to carcinogenic effects of rs34917480.

Objective: The objectives of this study were to explore the expression patterns of myosin heavy chain (MyHC) genes of different skeletal muscles from Chinese cattle, and to investigate the relationship between myofiber characteristics and meat quality of M. longissimus lumborum (LL), M. psoas major (PM), and M. semimembranosus (SM) from Chinese Luxi and Qinchuan cattle. Methods: Three major muscles including LL, PM, and SM from Chinese Luxi cattle and Chinese Qinchuan cattle were used in this study. The myofiber characteristics were measured by histochemical analysis. The MyHC isoforms expression was evaluated by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Quality traits including pH value, meat color, cooking loss, Warner-Bratzler shear force (WBSF) and sarcomere length were determined at day 5 postmortem. Results: PM muscle had higher pH value, a* value, sarcomere length and lower WBSF value compared to LL and SM muscles (p<0.05). Numbers of type I myofiber and the relative expression of MyHC I mRNA in PM muscle were higher than those of LL and SM muscles (p<0.05). Myofiber diameter of PM muscle was lower than that of LL and SM muscles, regardless of myofiber types (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the stepwise linear regression analyses, tenderness was influenced by myofiber characteristics in all three examined muscles. Tenderness of beef muscles from Qinchuan and Luxi cattle could be improved by increasing numbers of type I myofiber. Chushi (a scholar or poet in hermitage who has never held a public office, hereinafter hermit) once existed, and the number of which is far beyond our imagination today. Through various ways, a large number of hermits have established a poetic circle which was hid by poets-as-officials so that others cannot resort.During the different periods of the Northern Song Dynasty, the overall strength of hermits’ poetry was growing continuously. With the increase of hermits and their growing creativity, Jiangxi Pai, among the folks, combined with the poets of fellow villagers exceeded the development of poetic circle established by poets-as-officials during Huizong’s dictatorship. From then on, “The Poets-as-Officials’ Time” was in decline, and it can even be regarded as the beginning of the hermits and other poets’ world. As a matter of fact, changes have always taken place in the proportion of poets-as-officials to hermits during the Northern Song Dynasty.
Structural and Optical Properties of RF Magnetron Reactively Sputtered Ag2O Film

A series of <111> oriented Ag2O films was deposited onto glass substrates by using RF magnetron reactive sputtering at different flow ratios (FRs) of oxygen to argon. The Ag2O film deposited at FR = 0.667 was the best <111> oriented film due to dual contributions from both lattice strain and film stress. The films’ transmissivity of over 70% in the near-infrared region indicated that Ag2O films are not suitable for applications as transparent conductive films in the visible region. Ag2O films deposited at FRs from 0.467 to 0.800 had optical band gaps ranging from 3.266 eV to 3.107 eV. The redshift in the films’ absorption edge may be attributed to the decrease in the lattice strain with increasing in FR. Further Study on Networked Control Systems with Unreliable Communication Channels
Xiao Lu,Na Wang,Qingyuan Qi,Xiao Liang,Haixia Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.1
This paper focuses on the fundamental problems of linear quadratic gaussian (LQG) control and stabilization problems for networked control systems (NCSs) with unreliable communication channels (UCCs) wherepacket dropout, input delay and observation delay occur. These basic issues have attracted extensive attentions dueto broad applications. Our contributions are as follows. For the finite horizon case, without time-stamping technique, the optimal estimator is derived by using the novelty method of innovation sequences based on the delayedintermittent observations; A necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal control problem is presented on thebasis of the solution to the forward and backward difference equations (FBDEs) and two coupled Riccati equations. For the infinite horizon case, it is shown that under certain assumption, the system can stay bounded in the meansquare sense if and only if the algebraic Riccati equation admits the unique positive solution.

This paper considers optimal control problem for networked control systems (NCSs) with Markovian packet dropouts. Since previous literatures generally consider the one-way Markovian packet dropouts, i.e., from the sensor to the estimator or from the controller to the actuator. To make a further study of this issue, we aim to give the complete solution to the control problem of the two-way Markovian packet dropouts, i.e., from the sensor to the estimator and from the controller to the actuator. Firstly, by applying the Pontryagin’s maximum principle and mathematical induction method, a solution to the forward and backward stochastic difference equations (FBSDEs) is derived. Secondly, in virtue of the solution to the FBSDEs, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal control problem. Thirdly, the optimal controller is given based on the complete square method. Finally, numerical examples are proposed to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
Optimal LQG Control for Networked Control Systems with Remote and Local Controllers
Xiao Liang,Juanjuan Xu,Xiao Lu,Qingyuan Qi,Haixia Wang,Rong Gao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.1
We consider the finite horizon optimal LQG control problem for networked control systems with a remote controller, a local controller and communication channels with packet dropouts and transmission delays. The local controller can directly observe state signals and send them to the remote controller via a packet-dropout channel. Then the remote controller sends the received measurement signals to the local controller. Afterwards, the two controllers operate the plant through a delayed channel. The contributions of this paper are as follows: Firstly, at the side of the remote controller, we develop an optimal estimator to show that the separation principle holds. Secondly, we derive a non- homogeneous relationship between the state and the costate of systems in virtue of the maximum principle. Finally, a necessary and sufficient condition for the optimal control problem is derived in terms of the two coupled Riccati equations. Numerical examples are employed to illustrate the theoretical results.

Xiao Lu,Niyato, Dusit,Ping Wang,Dong In Kim,Zhu Han IEEE 2015 IEEE wireless communications Vol.22 No.2

Wireless charging is a technique of transmitting power through an air gap to an electrical device for the purpose of energy replenishment. Recently, wireless charging technology has significantly advanced in terms of efficiency and functionality. This article first presents an overview and fundamentals of wireless charging. We then provide the review of standards, that is, Qi and the Alliance for Wireless Power, and highlight their communication protocols. Next, we propose a novel concept of wireless charger networking that allows chargers to be connected to facilitate information collection and control. We demonstrate the application of the wireless charger network in user-charger assignment, which clearly shows the benefit in terms of reduced costs for users to identify the best chargers to replenish energy for their mobile devices.
