Purpose: The results of recent published studies focusing on IL-8 polymorphism in colorectal cancer susceptibility have often been inconsistent. We therefore carried out a meta-analysis based on independent studies to assess the association. Methods: Nine case-control studies with 7,003 individuals (3,019 cases and 3,984 controls) were included in this meta-analysis through searching the databases of PubMed, Excerpta Medica Database (EMBASE), and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM; Chinese) (up to Aug 1st, 2012). The odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) were used to assess the strength of the association. Meta-analysis was conducted in a fixed/random effect model. Results: No obvious associations were found for all genetic models when all studies were pooled into the meta-analysis (for A vs. T: OR = 1.084, 95% CI = 0.971-1.209, P = 0.019; for TA vs. TT: OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 0.943-1.475, P = 0.001; for AA vs. TT: OR = 1.155, 95% CI = 0.916-1.456, P = 0.014; for AA+TA vs. TT: OR = 1.170, 95% CI =0.953-1.437, P = 0.001; for AA vs. TT+TA: OR = 1.044, 95% CI = 0.886-1.230, P = 0.097). In the subgroup analyses by ethnicity (Caucasian) and source of controls (population based), also no significant associations were found for all genetic models. Conclusions: Result suggests that the IL-8-251T>A polymorphism is not associated with colorectal cancer risk. Because of the limitations of this meta-analysis, this finding demands further investigation.
Synergistic Effects of Exemestane and Aspirin on MCF-7 Human Breast Cancer Cells
Hu, Li-Xia,Du, Ying-Ying,Zhang, Ying,Pan, Yue-Yin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.11
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effects of exemestane and aspirin on MCF-7 human breast cancer cells. Methods: Antiproliferative effects of exemestane and aspirin, alone and in combination, on growth of MCF-7 human breast cancer cells were assessed using the MTT assay. Synergistic interaction between the two drugs was evaluated in vitro using the combination index (CI) method. The cell cycle distribution was analyzed by flow cytometry and Western blotting was used to investigate the expression of cyclooxygenase-1, cyclooxygenase-2 and Bcl-2. Results: MTT assays indicated that combination treatment obviously decreased the viability of MCF-7 human breast cancer cells compared to individual drug treatment (CI<1). In addition, the combination of exemestane and aspirin exhibited a synergistic inhibition of cell proliferation, significantly arrested the cell cycle in the $G_0/G_1$ phase and produced a stronger inhibitory effect on COX-1 and Bcl-2 expression than control or individual drug treatment. Conclusion: These results indicate that the combination of exemestane and aspirin might become a useful method to the treatment of hormone-dependent breast cancer. The combination of the two inhibitors significantly increased the response as compared to single agent treatment, suggesting that combination treatment could become a highly effective approach for breast cancer.

A Correlation Evaluation Method of PV Power Output Based on ITOPSIS
Xia Weiyi,Ren Zhouyang,Li Hui,Song Yue,Hu Xiuqiong,Hu Bo 대한전기학회 2022 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.17 No.4
Based on the Improved Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (ITOPSIS), an evaluation method is proposed to quantify the contribution of each photovoltaic (PV) plant on the randomness and sequential characteristics of regional PV power. It can provide valuable information for the operators and planners of power systems, as well as the dealers in electricity market. First, a correlation index system is constructed to evaluate the correlation between the power outputs of individual PV plants and the regional PV power. Next, ITOPSIS is proposed to synthesize the proposed indices. Group standardization and theoretical optimal value avert the decrease of diff erence between plants and make the results applicable for comparing correlations in diff erent cluster. The historical data collected from 16 PV plants were used to verify the eff ectiveness and correctness of the proposed method
Anti-Rollover Control Based on Stable Zone Partition of Counterbalanced Forklift Trucks
Xia Guang,Xia Yan,Tang Xiwen,Zhao Linfeng,Hu Jinfang 한국자동차공학회 2021 International journal of automotive technology Vol.22 No.6
To improve the anti-rollover capacity of a counterbalanced forklift, a two-stage rollover dynamic model is established on the basis of the forklift structure. Stable zones are divided according to the two-stage lateral load transfer rate: stable region, relatively stable region, dangerous zone and abnormal dangerous zone. An anti-rollover layered control strategy based on stable zone partition is proposed, and different anti-rollover control actuators are selected: dynamic balance weight, anti-rollover cylinder and steering cylinder. Anti-rollover controllers consist of the upper stable region identification controller, the middle-level controller based on model predictive control (MPC) and the lower layer executive controller. The upper stable region identification controller performs stable zone recognition based on the two-stage lateral load transfer rate. The middlelevel MPC controller calculates the required control torque with the body’s lateral angle and yaw rate as the control objectives. The lower layer executive controller controls the balance weight, anti-rollover cylinder and the steering cylinder according to the improved chain incremental allocation method to meet the target control torque. Simulation and real vehicle tests based on MATLAB/Simulink show that the anti-rollover control based on stable zone partition can greatly reduce the risk of forklift rollover and improve the forklift safety.

There is increasing evidence that natural killer (NK) cells play an important role in antitumor immunity following dendritic cell (DC) vaccination. Little is known, however, about the optimal stimulation of DCs by epitopes and NK interactions for cytotoxicity in tumors. In this study, DC cells activated by the HPV16E7.49-57 epitope and LPS were co-cultured with NK cells in vitro, and then used ot immunize mice to study CTL activity of TC-1, which constitutively expresses HPV16E6E7, with an LDH release assay. Cytotoxicity in mice immunized with DC loaded with epitope HPVE7.49-57 vaccine co-cultured with NK was enhanced significantly (p<0.01). In conclusion, talk-across between DC and NK cells enhances their functions, also improving cytotoxicity againsttumor cells, suggesting that activated DC-NK by epitopes has potential application for cancer-specific immuno-cellular therapy.
Proteomic Profiles of Mouse Neuro N2a Cells Infected with Variant Virulence of Rabies Viruses
( Wang Xiao Hu ),( Shou Feng Zhang ),( Cheng Long Sun ),( Zi Guo Yuan ),( Xian Fu Wu ),( Dong Xia Wang ),( Zhuang Ding ),( Rong Liang Hu ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2011 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.21 No.4
We characterized the proteomes of murine N2a cells following infection with three rabies virus (RV) strains, characterized by distinct virulence phenotypes (i.e., virulent BD06, fixed CVS-11, and attenuated SRV9 strains), and identified 35 changes to protein expression using twodimensional gel electrophoresis in whole-cell lysates. The annotated functions of these proteins are involved in various cytoskeletal, signal transduction, stress response, and metabolic processes. Specifically, a-enolase, prx-4, vimentin, cytokine-induced apoptosis inhibitor 1 (CIAPIN1) and prx-6 were significantly up-regulated, whereas Trx like-1 and galectin-1 were down-regulated following infection of N2a cells with all three rabies virus strains. However, comparing expressions of all 35 proteins affected between BD06-, CVS-11-, and SRV9-infected cells, specific changes in expression were also observed. The up-regulation of vimentin, CIAPIN1, prx-4, and 14-3-3 θ/δ, and downregulation of NDPK-B and HSP-1 with CVS and SRV9 infection were ≥2 times greater than with BD06. Meanwhile, Zfp12 protein, splicing factor, and arginine/serine-rich 1 were unaltered in the cells infected with BD06 and CVS- 11, but were up-regulated in the group infected with SRV9. The proteomic alterations described here may suggest that these changes to protein expression correlate with the rabies virus`` adaptability and virulence in N2a cells, and hence provides new clues as to the response of N2a host cells to rabies virus infections, and may also aid in uncovering new pathways in these cells that are involved in rabies infections. Further characterization of the functions of the affected proteins may contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms of RV infection and pathogenesis.
Computer vision-based displacement measurement with m-sequence target
Yi-Ding Hu,Qi Xia,Rong-rong Hou,Yong Xia,Jian-yi Yan 국제구조공학회 2021 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.27 No.3
The development of image sensors enables the application of vision-based techniques to the non-contact displacement measurement of large-scale structures. The features of the physical targets are critical to the accuracy, stability and anti-interference of the displacement measurement results. In this study, a novel m-sequence target and the associated circular correlation processing technique are developed for real-time displacement measurement. The properties of the m-sequence as a pseudo-random sequence are introduced. The vision-based displacement calculation method is then derived from the correlation property of the m-sequence. The algorithms and measurement systems are integrated in the LabVIEW environment. To verify the anti-interference performance of the developed system, static and dynamic experimental tests are carried out with various forms of interference, such as partial occlusion, uneven illumination, out of focus and smoke effect. Experimental results indicate that the developed system cannot only accurately measure structural displacement, but also has outstanding antiinterference performance, even if 30% of the target is masked.
