Bayesian analysis of a sensitive proportion
WonYoung Yun,Balgobin Nandram,Dal Ho Kim 한국데이터정보과학회 2019 한국데이터정보과학회지 Vol.30 No.4
Respondents tend to answer untruthfully when they are asked to response sensitive questions, as they are reluctant to expose their identity. In order to reduce the response bias that can be generated through this, Warner (1965) proposed a randomized design which uses a randomization device that conceals individual response and protects the respondent. Thereafter, various survey designs to reduce the response bias were proposed, and Bayesian estimation and simulation methods have also been studied. This study proposes an analysis method to reduce posterior standard deviations of the sensitive proportions in a survey with sensitive questions and compare the results with the existing analyzes through the simulation. In addition, this study applies the proposed analysis method to the actual survey with the sensitive questionnaires related to the organizational commitment to the experienced employees.

Background This paper presents an alternative creative solution to relieve stress expressed among university students living in dorms. By implementing art workshops and fostering a sense of community. This alternative approach aims to address the stress experienced by these students. Currently, the university fails to provide proactive measures or support to effectively deal with the students' stress, which often remains unaddressed due to their disincline to seek help. Recognizing the necessity for a sustainable and accessible service, this study suggests the implementation of “Brush on Grass”, a series of art workshops as a means of reducing stress and promoting social connections, particularly in the context of the pandemic. Methods The workshops aim to provide students with a creative outlet to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being. The workshops will take place in the green spaces of the campus, providing an opportunity to revitalize the campus landscape. Result Based on data collected through questionnaires, the art workshop, and interviews, this study formed an outline of “Poolbit”, which expands and encourages participation in the art workshops. Conclusion Therefore, this study explores the potential of service design to promote art-based workshops for stress management among university students in dormitories.

Carbon-coated $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3-LiMnPO_4$ composite cathode materials are first reported in this work, prepared by the mechanochemical process with a complex metal oxide as the precursor and sucrose as the carbon source. X-ray diffraction pattern of the composite material indicates that both olivine $LiMnPO_4$ and monoclinic $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3$ co-exist. We further investigated the electrochemical properties of our $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3-LiMnPO_4$ composite cathode materials using galvanostatic charging/discharging tests, where our $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3-LiMnPO_4$ composite electrode materials exhibit the charge/discharge efficiency of 91.9%, while $Li_3V_2(PO_4)_3$ and $LiMnPO_4$ exhibit the efficiency of 87.7 and 86.7% in the first cycle. The composites display unique electrochemical performances in terms of overvoltage and cycle stability, displaying a reduced gap of 141.6 mV between charge and discharge voltage and 95.0% capacity efficiency after $15^{th}$ cycles.

This paper is concerned with a parallel system that sustains a time-independent load and consists of n components with exponential lifetimes. It is assumed that the total load is shared by the working components and the failures of components increase higher failure rates in the surviving components according to the relationship between the relationship between the load and the failure rates. The power rule model among several load-failure rate relationships is considered. We consider the system efficiency measure as the expected profit earned by the system per unit time. The high load causes high gain but it also occurs frequent system failures. The expected profit per unit time is used as criterion to evaluate the system efficiency. The goal of system engineer is to determine the optimal load and redundant units maximizing the expected profit per unit time. First, the system reliability function is obtained and the optimization problem of the load-sharing parallel system is considered. Given the redundant units, the existence of the optimal load can be proved analytically and given the load, the optimal redundant units can be solved also analytically. The optimal load and redundant units are obtained simultaneously by numerical computation. Some numerical examples are studied.
