<P>The oncogenic PI3K/serine-threonine kinase (PI3K/AKT) pathway is a downstream pathway of B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway and plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of B-cell lymphoma. However, there have been preclinical data showing PI3K/AKT pathway activation in T-cell lymphoma, with in different mechanisms from those in B-cell lymphoma. In this study, we investigated the impact of p-AKT expression on clinical outcomes of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL).</P>
Inhibitory effect of celastrol on adipogenic differentiation of human adipose-derived stem cells

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Control of adipogenesis in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) offers enormous potential for management of obesity- and aging-related diseases. Celastrol, the traditional Chinese medicine extracted from <I>Tripterygium wilfordi</I>, exhibits anti-obesity effects in <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> murine models. This study describes how celastrol affects multilineage differentiation potential of human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs). We performed <I>in vitro</I> adipogenic differentiation of hADSCs and investigated how celastrol-induced lipid accumulation and expression of adipocyte differentiation markers varied with dose, duration, and donor age. In addition, we assessed the effect of celastrol on osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation of hADSCs. During adipogenic induction of hADSCs, the inhibitory effect of celastrol on lipid accumulation and adipogenesis depended on dose, duration, time of administration, and individual donor. Inhibition was mediated by proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARG) and CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (CEBPA). Celastrol also suppressed differentiation of hADSCs into the osteogenic and chondrogenic lineages. Celastrol plays a regulatory role in multilineage differentiation of human MSCs. Our findings provide important insights regarding management of obesity and stem cell therapy.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Celastrol has therapeutic potential against obesity- and aging-related diseases. </LI> <LI> Anti-adipogenic effect of celatrol in human ADSCs depended on dose and duration. </LI> <LI> Celatrol inhibited adipogenesis in human ADSCs by regulating <I>PPARG</I> and <I>CEBPA.</I> </LI> <LI> Celastrol inhibited adipogenesis in hADSCs derived from 12 donors with various ages. </LI> <LI> Celastrol also inhibited osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation in hADSCs. </LI> </UL> </P>

스마트폰의 보급으로 모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임(SNG: Social Network Game)을 즐기는 사용자들이 증가하고 있다. 그러나, SNG의 특성에 맞는 자원 활용률을 고려한 효율적인 게임서버에 대한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문은 가상화 기반으로 SNG게임서버를 설계 및 구현한다. 또한 가상화 기반분산 게임서버의 CPU 사용률과 Memory 사용량을 분석하여 게임서버의 자원 활용률을 보인다. 이를 토대로 SNG게임서버 환경구축의 기반지식을 제공한다.

Most of optimization only can treat 1 dimensional value as design variable, therefore, it is hard to deal with 2 dimensional profile data that represents force-displacement curve or moment-theta curve of component as a design variable. This paper shows new approaching methodology that enable user to deal with 2 dimensional profile as a design parameter in assembled system to find proper profile that makes simulation result corresponding to target test data. The customized tool was developed as a result of new approaching methodology for correlation, enable to substitute for real component testing process with experience based on simulation.
SERS Immunoassay Using Microcontact Printing for Application of Sensitive Biosensors

We introduced a promising patterned substrate by using a microcontact printing method that can be used for SERS immunoassays based on antigen-antibody binding. SERS spectrum of the Raman reporter with antibody,which is rhodamine 6G (R6G) adsorbed on colloidal gold nanoparticles, was observed only for the surfaces in which prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is present on the substrate that is attached to an immobilized layer of antibody on the gold nanoparticles layer of the patterned substrate. Raman mapping images clearly showed that the antibodies on the Raman reporter were successfully and selectively conjugated with the antigen on the patterned substrate. This method could be potentially extended to multi-protein detections and ultrasensitive biosensors.
