Radicilingua Papenfuss and Calonitophyllum Aregood are two small genera of the family Delesseriaceae that consist of only three and one taxonomically accepted species, respectively. The type species of these genera, Radicilingua thysanorhizans from England and Calonitophyllum medium from the Americas, are morphologically very similar, with the only recognized differences being vein size and procarp development. To date, only other two species were recognized inside the genus Radicilingua: R. adriatica and R. reptans. In this study, we analysed specimens of Radicilingua collected in the Adriatic and Ionian Sea (Mediterranean), including a syntype locality of R. adriatica (Trieste, northern Adriatic Sea), alongside material from near the type locality of R. thysanorhizans (Torpoint, Cornwall, UK). The sequences of the rbcL-5P gene fragment here produced represent the first molecular data available for the genus Radicilingua. Phylogenetic reconstruction showed that the specimens from the Adriatic and Ionian Seas were genetically distinct from the Atlantic R. thysanorhizans, even if morphologically overlapping with this species. A detailed morphological description of the Mediterranean specimens, together with an accurate literature search, suggested that they were distinct also from R. adriatica and R. reptans. For these reasons, a new species was here described to encompass the Mediterranean specimens investigated in this study: R. mediterranea Wolf, Sciuto & Sfriso. Moreover, in the rbcL-5P tree, sequences of the genera Radicilingua and Calonitophyllum grouped in a well-supported clade, distinct from the other genera of the subfamily Nitophylloideae, leading us to propose that Calonitophyllum medium should be transferred to Radicilingua.

The objectives of this study were to develop restructured meat products(RMPs) using a transglutaminase(TGase) and to improve the textural characteristics of RMPs manufactured with pale, soft, exudative(PSE) pork hams. The pH values of RMPs with PSE and normal pork were 5.94 and 6.07, respectively, and their water activity value was approximately 0.981. The RMPs had 70~72% moisture, 4~5% fat, 19~20% protein, and approximately 3% ash contents. No differences in pH, water activity, chemical composition, and hunter color values were observed between RMPs manufactured with normal and PSE pork(P>0.05). However, RMPs containing PSE pork hams had higher drip loss(%)(P<0.05) than those with normal pork hams after 10 days of refrigerated storage. Although no differences were observed in the texture profile analysis(TPA) hardness and sensory evaluation, RMPs with PSE pork hams tended to have more pores and lower binding capacity those with normal pork. This result indicated that additional substrates or longer tumbling time(>4 hr) for the manufacture of RMPs containing PSE pork were required for the products to have similar palatability to those with normal pork.

<P>We extracted the electronic disorder energy of the organic inorganic lead-halide hybrid perovskite CH3NH3PbBr3 from temperature-dependent absorption data. We showed that the disorder at room temperature is similar to 30 meV and is due to strong electron-phonon coupling with the longitudinal-optical mode of energy 16 meV. This mode can be attributed to longitudinal-optical phonons of the inorganic PbBr6 frame; this conclusion highlights the polaronic nature of electronic excitations in CH3NH3PbBr3. We showed that structural disorder is of the same impact as thermal disorder. A temperature-dependence of the exciton binding energy was observed close to the orthorhombic-to-tetragonal phase-transition temperature.</P>
