Multi-walked carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/poly(aryl ether ketone) networks cross-linked by Diels-Alder cycloaddition possess outstanding mechanical and rheological properties. Poly(aryl ether ketone) containing pendant furan (PAEK-Fu) was synthesized, which had excellent thermal and mechanical properties, and a series of cross-linked materials with reversible covalent cross-linked crosslinking network were synthesized through a furan/MWCNTs Diels-Alder (D-A) reaction between PAEK-Fu and MWCNTs. Thermal and mechanical properties for MWCNT/PAEK-Fu composites were studied, and after crosslinking, MWCNT/PAEK-Fu composites exhibited good flexibility and resistance against organic solvents. After heating to 180 °C, the cross-linked MWCNT/PAEK-Fu composite membranes could be dissolved in NMP. This work demonstrates that the poly(aryl ether ketone)s can be made into recyclable thermoset materials using the concept of associative dynamic bonding. Given the dramatically increasing interest in environmentally sustainable materials, this MWCNT/poly(aryl ether ketone) interaction mode provides a robust approach to high performance engineering plastics with improved performance compared with the thermoplastic counterparts.

B, N-codoped carbon nanofibers were massively prepared by heat treatment of electrospun carbon nanofibers with the mixture of boric acid/urea in N2 (BNCf-N) and subsequently activated in NH3 (BNCf- NA). The directly electrospun self-standing 3D non woven structure with void spaces between each fiber facilitates the mass transport of reactant and resulted molecules. Further NH3 activation gives BNCf-NA a high surface area of 306.3 m2 g-1 with micro/mesoporous structure, providing abundant passageway for proton transfer. Simultaneously, NH3 activation also realizes the optimization of surface functionalities, such as more BeNeC and pyridinic-N. These intriguing features render BNCf-NA excellent catalytic behavior with nearly four-electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) process in alkaline media, especially much better stability and methanol tolerance than the commercial Pt/C catalyst. Our work provides a large-scale preparation method for efficient metal-free catalysts toward ORR, thus further intensifying the commercial application of fuel cells.

Electric vehicle (EV) is developed because of its environmental friendliness, energy-saving and high efficiency. For improving the performance of the energy storage system of EV, this paper proposes an energy management strategy (EMS) based model predictive control (MPC) for the battery/supercapacitor hybrid energy storage system (HESS), which takes stabilizing the DC bus voltage and improving the efficiency of the system as two major optimization goals. In addition, an enumeration algorithm is presented to solve the optimization function. The experimental results show the performance of the proposed EMS which is able to enhance the overall instantaneous power and prevent the battery from overloading. Meanwhile, compared with the results of a single battery storage system, the maximum amplitude of the battery current in the HESS is reduced by 40.81% and whole system energy loss is reduced by 24.13% with the proposed power management strategy.

The carcass size performances and the meat quality of Gannan and Sibu yak were determined using M. supraspinatus (SU), M. longissimus thoracis (LT) and M.quadriceps femoris (QF). It is found that Sibu yak had significantly higher carcass weight (CW) than Gannan yak with difference of nearly 40 kg, as well as significantly higher eye muscle area (EMA), carcass thorax depth (CTD), round perimeter (RP), etc. The carcass performances of steer yak were significantly higher than heifer yak except meat thickness at round (MTR) (p<0.05). The results show that both yak breed and gender had significant effects on carcass performances. It could be seen that the variation of carcass size performances from breeds is as large as from gender (50.22% and 46.25% of total variation, respectively) through principal component analysis (PCA). Sibu yak had significantly higher L*, b*, WBSF, cooking loss and Fat content, while Gannan yak had significantly higher a*, press loss, protein content and moisture (p<0.05). Yak gender and muscle had insignificant effects on meat colour and water holding capacity (p>0.05). The variation of meat quality of yak from breed is up to 59.46% of total variation according to PCA. It is shown that the difference between breeds, for Gannan yak and Sibu yak, plays an important role in carcass size performance and meat quality.
