A SERIES OF MONODISPERSE SILVER NANOPARTICLES BY A ONE-POT SYNTHESIS

        LUPING TANG,Huichao Zhang,Yiping Cui,Jiayu Zhang,YONGHONG YE,SHENFEI ZONG 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2014 NANO Vol.9 No.1

A series of monodisperse Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs), whose size can be tuned between 2 nm and34 nm, have been successfully synthesized in one pot by controlling the growth time. The stan-dard deviation of the small-size Ag NPs is 12% while that of the large-size ones is 15%. During thesynthesis process, sodium borohydride and sodium dodecyl sulfate were used as reducing agentand surfactant, respectively, and the e®ect of the synthesis parameters on the size-tuning rangeand the size distribution of Ag NPs was studied to get the optimum growth condition. Moreover, surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra were analyzed to explore the synthesismechanism of Ag NPs

Statistics and probability analysis of vehicle overloads on a rigid frame bridge from long-term monitored strains

Liqun Tang,Yinghua Li,Zejia Liu,Yiping Liu 국제구조공학회 2012 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.9 No.3

It is well known that overloaded vehicles may cause severe damages to bridges, and how to estimate and evaluate the status of the overloaded vehicles passing through bridges become a challenging problem. Therefore, based on the monitored strain data from a structural health monitoring system (SHM) installed on a bridge, a method is recommended to identify and analyze the probability of overloaded vehicles. Overloaded vehicle loads can cause abnormity in the monitored strains, though the abnormal strains may be small in a concrete continuous rigid frame bridge. Firstly, the abnormal strains are identified from the abundant strains in time sequence by taking the advantage of wavelet transform in abnormal signal identification;secondly, the abnormal strains induced by heavy vehicles are picked up by the comparison between the identified abnormal strains and the strain threshold gotten by finite element analysis of the normal heavy vehicle; finally, according to the determined abnormal strains induced by overloaded vehicles, the statistics of the overloaded vehicles passing through the bridge are summarized and the whole probability of the overloaded vehicles is analyzed. The research shows the feasibility of using the monitored strains from a longterm SHM to identify the information of overloaded vehicles passing through a bridge, which can help the traffic department to master the heavy truck information and do the damage analysis of bridges further.

Effects of resveratrol on mitochondrial biogenesis and physiological diseases

        Uriho Angelo,Tang Xue,Le Guowei,Yang Shaojun,Harimana Yves,Ishimwe Steven Papy,Yiping Lu,Zhang Kai,Ma Shuhua,Muhoza Bertrand 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2021 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.21 No.1

Plants produce a number of biological active substances with healthy benefits. Resveratrol (3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene), a polyphenol produced by plants has been associated with many health beneficial properties, including its ability to induce mitochondrial biogenesis and fight against health problems such as obesity, inflammation, heart diseases, cancers among others. Mitochondrial dysfunction is recognized as central to the pathogenesis and development of many diseases. Thus the present review describes how resveratrol (RSV) may counteract physiological and age-related diseases/disorders through its effect on mitochondrial biogenesis and function. In addition, we discuss the chemistry, main sources, and the doses of RSV shown in previous studies to be efficient for the prevention and treatment of different diseases. Through its ability to improve mitochondrial dysfunction, RSV can be used in the prevention and/or treatment of human physiological diseases. However, more research for optimal dose in a human scale is still relevant. This review brings new hope to the therapy of physiological diseases as it will provide useful future perspectives for the planning of clinical studies on RSV and mito-chondrial dysfunction-related diseases.

Localized reliability analysis on a large-span rigid frame bridge based on monitored strains from the long-term SHM system

        Zejia Liu,Liqun Tang,Yinghua Li,Yiping Liu,Zhenyu Jiang,Daining Fang 국제구조공학회 2014 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.14 No.2

With more and more built long-term structural health monitoring (SHM) systems, it has been considered to apply monitored data to learn the reliability of bridges. In this paper, based on a long-term SHM system, especially in which the sensors were embedded from the beginning of the construction of the bridge, a method to calculate the localized reliability around an embedded sensor is recommended and implemented. In the reliability analysis, the probability distribution of loading can be the statistics of stress transferred from the monitored strain which covered the effects of both the live and dead loads directly, and it means that the mean value and deviation of loads are fully derived from the monitored data. The probability distribution of resistance may be the statistics of strength of the material of the bridge accordingly. With five years\' monitored strains, the localized reliabilities around the monitoring sensors of a bridge were computed by the method. Further, the monitored stresses are classified into two time segments in one year period to count the loading probability distribution according to the local climate conditions, which helps us to learn the reliability in different time segments and their evolvement trends. The results show that reliabilities and their evolvement trends in different parts of the bridge are different though they are all reliable yet. The method recommended in this paper is feasible to learn the localized reliabilities revealed from monitored data of a long-term SHM system of bridges, which would help bridge engineers and managers to decide a bridge inspection or maintenance strategy

Identification of putative ingestion‑related olfactory receptor genes in the Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir japonica sinensis)

        Chenchen Shen,Dan Tang,Yiping Zhang,Lv Wu,Yaqi Luo,Boping Tang,Zhengfei Wang 한국유전학회 2021 Genes & Genomics Vol.43 No.5

Background Olfaction plays a central role in mating, spawning, obtaining food and escaping predators, which is essential for survival and reproduction of animals. The nature of the olfactory perception in crabs, which is a major group of crustaceans, has remained elusive. Objective This project aims to explore the molecular mechanism of olfaction in crabs and further improve our understanding of olfactory perception in crustaceans. Methods The olfactory receptors and ingestion-related gene expression in Eriocheir japonica sinensis were studied by transcriptomic techniques. The de novo assembly, annotation and functional evaluation were performed with bioinformatics tools. Results A series of chemosensory receptors associated with olfaction were identifed including 33 EsIRs, 24 EsIGluRs, 58 EsVIGluRs, 1 EsOR and 1 EsGC-D. We found IRs were key odorant receptors demonstrating a specifc species evolutionary trend in crustaceans. Furthermore, we identifed ORs in E. j. sinensis and Litopenaeus vannamei. The incomplete EsOR and LvOR1 structures implied that ORs exist in crustaceans, and may have been degenerated or even lost in the olfactory evolutionary process. In addition, comparative transcriptome analysises demonstrated two possible olfactory transduction pathways of E. j. sinensis: the cGMP-mediated olfactory pathway related to vegetable odor molecules and the cAMP-mediated olfactory pathway related to meat odor molecules. The above results were consistent with its omnivorous ingestion of E. j. sinensis. Conclusions Our study revealed the unique olfactory molecular mechanism of omnivorous crabs and provided valuable information for further functional research on the chemoreception mechanisms in crustaceans.
