Increase in Current Density at Metal/GeO2/n‑Ge Structure by Using Laminated Electrode
Takahiro Tsukamoto,Shota Kurihara,Nobumitsu Hirose,Akifumi Kasamatsu,Toshiaki Matsui,Yoshiyuki Suda 대한금속·재료학회 2020 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.16 No.1
In a metal/n-Ge structure, Fermi level pinning tends to occur. The insertion of an oxide layer at the interface between electrodes and n-Ge can efectively reduce the Schottky barrier height. However, the attachment of metal and oxide can cause difusion of oxygen to the metal due to Gibbs free energy, which degrades the contact characteristics. In this study, we investigated the efects of a laminated electrode on the current density at a metal/GeO2/n-Ge structure. Ni, Pt, Al, or Ti layers with thicknesses of 0.5–20 nm were formed, followed by a deposition of 200-nm-thick Al. The J–V curves of these samples showed that the current density of the Al/Ti/GeO2/n-Ge structure was the largest among them and was about 126 times larger than that of the Al/GeO2/n-Ge structure. We also found that the current density depended on the flm thickness of Ti and was the highest at the flm thickness of about 2.5 nm or less. To investigate the efect of the Ti interlayer on the current density, we obtained the depth profles of X-ray photoelectron spectroscope spectra of the Al/Ti/GeO2/n-Ge and Al/ GeO2/n-Ge structures. Analysis showed that the difusion of the oxygen to Al was limited by the 20-nm-thick Ti, and the oxygen was difused to Al when the flm thickness of Ti was about 1 nm. These results demonstrate that laminated oxide structures such as AlOx/TiOx and TiOx/GeO2 can form on the sample with 1-nm-thick Ti, which increases the current density.
Efects of Low‑Temperature GeSn Bufer Layers on Sn Surface Segregation During GeSn Epitaxial Growth
Takahiro Tsukamoto,Nobumitsu Hirose,Akifumi Kasamatsu,Toshiaki Matsui,Yoshiyuki Suda 대한금속·재료학회 2020 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.16 No.1
We investigate the efects of the low-temperature (LT) GeSn bufer layers on Sn surface segregation during the growth of the additional GeSn layers. Sn surface segregation was observed in the GeSn layers formed on Si substrates at the growth temperature of 300 °C. However, there was no Sn surface segregation in the GeSn layers grown at 300 °C on the LT GeSn bufer layers formed at 225 °C. The Sn surface segregation was limited by the efects of the LT bufer layers. Crystallinity of the GeSn layers grown at 300 °C on the LT GeSn bufer layers was investigated by Raman spectroscopy. The full width at half maximum of the Ge–Ge Raman spectrum obtained from the GeSn layers was about 3.1 cm−1, which means that the formed GeSn layers have excellent crystallinity. We have successfully demonstrated that the LT GeSn bufer layers can limit the Sn surface segregation, which increases the growth temperature and improves crystallinity of the GeSn layers.

N-continuous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a precoding method for sidelobe suppression of OFDM signals and seamlessly connects OFDM symbols up to the highorder derivative for sidelobe suppression, which is suitable for suppressing out-of-band radiation. However, it severely degrades the error rate as it increases the continuous derivative order. Two schemes for orthogonal precoding of N-continuous OFDM have been proposed to achieve an ideal error rate while maintaining sidelobe suppression performance; however, the large size of the precoder matrices in both schemes causes very high computational complexity for precoding and decoding. This paper proposes matrix decomposition of precoder matrices with a large size in the orthogonal precoding schemes in order to reduce computational complexity. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method can drastically reduce computational complexity without any performance degradation.

Background/Aims: Decreased trough levels of infliximab (TLI) and antibodies to infliximab (ATI) are associated with loss of response (LOR) in Crohn’s disease. Two prospective studies were conducted to determine whether TLI or ATI better correlates with LOR (Study 1), and whether TLI could become a predictor of mucosal healing (MH) (Study 2). Methods: Study 1 was conducted in 108 patients, including those with LOR and remission to compare ATI and TLI in discriminating the 2 conditions based on receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analyses. Study 2 involved 35 patients who were evaluated endoscopically. Results: In Study 1, there were no differences between the 2 assays in ROC curve analyses; the TLI cutoff value for LOR was 2.6 μg/mL (sensitivity, 70.9%; specificity, 79.2%), and the ATI cutoff value was 4.9 μg/mL (sensitivity, 65.5%; specificity, 67.9%). The AUROC (area under the ROC curve) of TLI was greater than that of ATI. AUROC was useful for discriminating between the 2 conditions. In Study 2, the TLI was significantly higher in the colonic MH group than in the non-MH group (2.7 μg/mL vs. 0.5 μg/mL, P=0.032). Conclusions: TLI is better than ATI for clinically diagnosing LOR, and a correlation was observed between TLI and colonic MH. (Intest Res 2018;16:223-232)
Brown Tumor of the Patella Caused by Primary Hyperparathyroidism: A Case Report
Tomoko Irie,Taro Mawatari,Satoshi Ikemura,Gen Matsui,Takahiro Iguchi,Hiroaki Mitsuyasu 대한영상의학회 2015 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.16 No.3
It has been reported that the common sites of brown tumors are the jaw, pelvis, ribs, femurs and clavicles. We report our experience in a case of brown tumor of the patella caused by primary hyperparathyroidism. An initial radiograph and CT showed an osteolytic lesion and MR images showed a mixed solid and multiloculated cystic tumor in the right patella. One month after the parathyroidectomy, rapid bone formation was observed on both radiographs and CT images.

Purpose: General surgeons at regional hospitals should have the primary trauma care skills necessary to treat critically ill trauma patients to withstand transfer. This study was conducted to identify a consensus on primary trauma care skills for general surgeons. Methods: An initial list of acute care surgical skills was compiled, and revised by six trauma experts (acute care surgeons); 33 skills were nominated for inclusion in the Delphi consensus survey. Participants (councilors of the Japanese Society for Acute Care Surgery) were presented with the list of 33 trauma care skills and were asked (using web-based software) to rate how strongly they agreed or disagreed (using a 5-point Likert scale) with the necessity of each skill for a general surgeon. The reliability of consensus was predefined as Cronbach’s α ≥ 0.8, and trauma care skills were considered as primarily required when rated 4 (agree) or 5 (strongly agree) by ≥ 80% participants. Results: There were 117 trauma care specialists contacted to participate in the Delphi consensus survey panel. In the 1st round, 85 specialists participated (response rate: 72.6%). In the 2nd round, 66 specialists participated (response rate: 77.6%). Consensus was achieved after two rounds, reliability using Cronbach’s α was 0.94, and 34 items were identified as primary trauma care skills needed by general surgeons. Conclusion: A consensus-based list of trauma care skills required by general surgeons was developed. This list can facilitate the development of a new trauma training course which has been optimized for general surgeons.
