This paper proposes a graph neural network-based hierarchical classification and regression model to predict the optimal ground structure layout. A ground structure consists of a set of interconnected bars similar to a graph structure. The number of bars and joints depends on the size and configuration of the target design domains. Conventional neural networks, such as MLP and CNN, cannot handle such variable-dimensional data. Therefore, we adopted a graph neural network using the similarity between ground structure and graph. Only a few of the potential bar candidates remained after ground structure optimization converged. It causes the highly imbalanced distribution of bar areas, which is difficult to predict. Therefore, we construct the model to process a binary classification task to classify the presence or absence of remaining bars among potential bar candidates, and then sequentially process a regression task to predict the detailed value of the cross-sectional areas. To validate the proposed model, three types of ground structure optimization problems were defined: cantilever, simply supported, and L-shape beams. The model was evaluated with three evaluation metrics: classification, regression, and optimality. As a result, it predicts the presence or absence of the optimal ground structure with more than 95% accuracy and predicts the cross-sectional areas of the remaining bars with greater than 95% accuracy.

Vegetable oils can contribute to the goal of energy independence and security owing to their naturally renewable resources. One of the representative vegetable oils is biodiesel, which is being used in domestic and European markets as a blended fuel with automotive diesel. Vegetable oils are promising candidates as base fluids to replace petroleum lubricants because of their excellent lubricity and biodegradability. We prepared biodiesel with a purity of 99.9% via the esterification of waste cooking oil. Blended biodiesel and Petro-lube base oil were mixed to produce five types of mixed lubricating oil. We analyzed the various characteristics of the blended biodiesel with Petro-lube base oil for different blending ratios. The lubricity of the vegetable lubricant improves as the content of biodiesel increases. In addition, since zinc dialkyldithiophosphates (ZnDTPs) are widely used as multifunctional additives in petroleum-based lubricants, we optimized the blending ratio for lubricity, oxidation stability, and shear stability by adding ZnDTP as a performance additive to improve the biodiesel properties, such as oxidation stability and hydrolysis. The optimized lubricants improve by approximately 25% in lubricity and by 20 times in oxidation stability and shear stability after the addition of ZnDTP.

The lubrication properties and wear preventive characteristics of soy bean oil based fatty acid methyl esters(FAMEs) as a lubricating base oil were examined using the four ball tester. The lubrication and wear properties of FAMEs are similar or somewhat better than petroleum base oils. Acid numbers were measured to investigate acidity variation after wear test. Petroleum base oils have shown no change in acid number but there was an increase of acid number for FAMEs after wear test. Particulate formation analysis was performed using membrane filters after wear test. There was no particulate observed for petroleum base oil but black particulate which is thought as soot was observed on the membrane filter of FAMEs.

활성탄은 입자내 공극이 잘 발달된 무정형 탄소로써 흡착성 및 촉매성이 뛰어나 폐유를 연료로 전환하는 과정에 회분, 중금속 및 기타 이물질 제거에 우수한 효과를 나타내며 이러한 연구가 간헐적으로 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 활성탄을 활용하여 이온정제유, 감압정제유, 재생연료유를 대상으로 흡착성 실험을 진행하였으며 물리적 및 화학적 성분 변화를 통해 활성탄이 정제연료유에 미치는 영향 및 분자체 작용에 대한 연구를 진행하였다.

본 논문은 정부의 연구 지원에 의해 폐유를 유화 방법으로 재활용한 유화정제연료유의 저장안정성 측정방법을 마련하고자 실시하였다. 국내외 유화정제연료유 저장안정성 시험방법이 마련되지 않아 ASTM D 3707, 지식경제부 '석유대체연료의 성능평가기준과 품질시험방법 등에 관한 고시' 별표4 유화연료유 저장안정성 평가방법(습식법) 등 유화연료유의 저장안정성 시험방법을 근간으로 하여 40?C에서 30일 동안 저장용기에 저장하면서 매 10일 마다 상 하층 수분함량을 측정하는 방법을 제시하였고, 이에 대한 전반적인 연구 내용을 언급하였다.
