New reliability-based topology optimization method is proposed by utilizing single-loop single vector approach, which approximate searching the most probable point in the probabilistic design domain analytically, to reduce the time cost and dealing with several constraints to handle practical design requirements. To examine uncertainties in the topology design of a structure, the modulus of elasticity of the material and applied loadings are considered as probabilistic design variables. The results of design examples show that the proposed method provides efficiency curtailing the time for the optimization process and accuracy satisfying the specified reliability.
용접면적 최소화를 위한 다중물질 차체구조의 위상최적설계

This paper presents a new design optimization method that is applicable to design the vehicle body structure with multi-material. Two different level set functions are employed to express the properties of steel and aluminum in automotive body, and the concept of phase field model is applied to construct the objective function for considering the welding area which causes an increase of the production cost. The optimization problem is formulated to minimize both the mean compliance of body structure under an exciting load and the contact area between two materials. To confirm the usefulness of the proposed method, a structural design example for an automotive underbody is provided.
