A Fuel Cell Generation System with a Fuel Cell Simulator
Tae-Won Lee,Su-Jin Jang,Han-Keun Jang,Chung-Yuen Won 전력전자학회 2005 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.5 No.1
A fuel cell (FC) system includes a fuel processor plus subsystems to manage air, water, and thermal energy, and electric power. The overall system is high-priced and needs peripheral devices. In this paper, a FC simulator is designed and constructed with the electrical characteristics of a fuel cell generation (FCG) system, using uses a simple buck convener to overcome these disadvantages. The characteristic voltage and current(V-I) curve for the FC simulator is controlled by a simplified linear function. In addition, to verify FCG system performance and operation, a full-bridge DC/DC converter and a single-phase DC/AC inverter were designed and constructed for FC applications. Close agreement between the simulation and experimental results confirms the validity and usefulness of the proposed FC simulator.

The Eurasian otter, Lutra lutra, is a well known endangered species in South Korea that experienced rapid population decreases through poaching and industrialization until the 1980’s. To evaluate the genetic diversity and the existing number of otters recently found in Daegu City, 81 fecal samples collected from the Gumho River and Shincheon stream were subjected to DNA extraction for sex determination and genetic analysis using nuclear genetic markers. Individual identification and relatedness between individuals were detemined by genotypic data using twelve microsatellite loci, and sex identification was also determined based on sequence variation of the zinc finger protein gene on sex chromosomes. Our results showed that at least seven otter individuals were identified and the kinship relationships of seven individual pairs were determined. It was concluded that otters distributed widely in Daegu City have moderate levels of genetic diversity, and close monitoring of the small-sized otter population is necessary to promote successful settlement of the otters in the area.

There is an increasing demand for efficient high power/weight auxiliary power supplies for use on high speed traction application. Many new conversion techniques have been proposed to reduce the voltage and current stress of switching components, and the switching losses in the traditional pulse width modulation(PWM) converter. Especially, the phase shift full bridge zero voltage switching PWM techniques are thought most desirable for many applications because this topology permits all switching devices to operate under zero voltage switching(ZVS) by using circuit parasitic components such as leakage inductance of high frequency transformer and power device junction capacitance. The proposed topology is found to have higher efficiency than conventional soft-switching converter. Also it is easily applicable to phase shift full bridge converter by applying an energy recovery snubber consisted of fast recovery diodes and capacitors.

There are many increasing demands for efficient high power density of auxiliary power unit(APU) for high speed traction application. Many techniques have been proposed to measure the voltage flicker on the traditional pulse width modulation(PWM) inverter. This paper proposes a novel functionality of the static inverter on the APU to mitigate the voltage flicker and regulate the output voltage. A new control algorithm for the inverter based on the Hilbert transform(HT) is presented. The HT is employed as an effective technique for tracking the voltage flicker levels in APU systems. Simulation results are provided to verify the tracking capabilities of the HT and to evaluate the performance of the proposed DG interface for multi-function operation.

Objectives: HuaTaHyunMunNeJoDo is a medical Literature dealing deeply with the theory of internal organs thought to be the core of theories in Chinese medicine. The aim of this study was to explorer on the formation and the organization of HuaTaHyunMunNeJoDo. Methods: We investigated the process of the formation of HuaTaHyunMunNeJoDo and analyzed the organization of HuaTaHyunMunNeJoDo on the medical-historical points of view. Results: As a result from studies. Main contents include 11 pieces of pictures about the positions of the regions of acupuncture and moxibustion as well as the internal organs, in addition to descriptions in detail regarding each disease in the internal organs, problems occurred among them, obstinate diseases, etc. Conclusions: A published book in Ming Dynasty and another transcribed by someone in Qing Dynasty as the xylographic books of this Literature in China, which turned out to books referred considerably to the contents of YangGae`s JonJinDo, a famous doctor in Northern Song Dynasty in China. Moreover, the main contents of HuaTaHyunMunNeJoDo greatly affected the theories of the internal organs for the following generations as they were quoted in YiCheon`s UiHakYipMun in Ming Dynasty in China.
