한강수계 팔당댐 유입 하천수를 대상으로, 다환방향족 탄화수소를 선택적으로 유리하게 흡착하는 blue-rayon을 이용하는 현수법 및 column법으로 유기물을 흡착 추출하여, Salmonella typhimurium TA 98 및 TA 100에서의 돌연변이원성을 검색한 결과 다음과 같았다. 1. 흡착 유기물량은 8월이 11월에 비하여 약 1.7배 높았고, 현수법과 column법에서의 차는 없었다. 2. TA 100 균주에서 돌연변이원성은 나타나지 않았다. 3. TA 98균주에서의 돌연변이원성은, S-9mix 첨가의 계가 S-9mix비첨가의 계보다 높았고, 11월이 8월보다 높게 나타났다. Column법이 현수법에 비하여 돌연변이원성은 예민하게 검출되었다. In order to evaluate the toxic effect of organic pollutants in aquatic environments, organic substances extracted from blue-rayon adsorbates in Kyimgan River with the hanging and column methods were assayed by the Ames Salmonella mutagenicity test. Amounts of organic extracts adsorbed with the blue-rayon hanging method and the blue-rayon column method were similar. The mutagenicity toward TA 100 strain was not shown. The mutagenicity toward TA 98 with S-9mix was higher than that without S-9mix. For the quantitative concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water, it was shown that the blue-rayon column method was more efficient than the blue-rayon hanging method.
n-CdS_(0.46)Se_(0.54)/p-Cu_92-x)S_(0.46)Se_(0.54) 이종접합 태양전지의 제작과 그 특성에 관한 연구

승화방법에 의해 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 성장하여 결정구조를 조사하고, Van der Pauw 방법으로 Hall effect를 측정하여 carrier density의 온도 의존성과 mobility의 온도 의존성을 조사하였다. 성장된 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 치환반응하여 n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 이종접합 태양전지를 제작하였다. Spectral response, 전류-전압특성 및 전력변환 효율을 조사하여 그 결과로부터 개방전압은 0.48V, 단락 전류 밀도는 21mA/㎠, fill factor와 전력변환효율은 각각 0.75와 9.5%를 얻었다. CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal was grown by a sublimation method. The crystal structure and the temperature dependence of carrier density and mobility of CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal were studied. Heterojunction solar cells on n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 were fabricated by the substitution reaction. The spectral response, the J-U characteristics and the conversion efficiency of the n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells were studied. The open-cricuit voltage, short-circuit density, fill factor and conversion efficiency of n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells under 80mW/㎠ illumination were found to be 0.48V, 21mA/㎠, 0.75 and 9.5%, respectively.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study presents the fabrication and characterization of imine-functionalized Au nanoparticle (Au NP) film using Poly (ethyleneimine) (PEI) as a reducing and surface stabilizing reagent. The PEI-capped Au NPs can be self-assembled at the water-hexane interface by adding alcohol containing alkanethiol. Furthermore, large-area film made from PEI and alkanethiol-capped Au NPs is produced on a glass substrate with varying interparticle distances that can be controlled by the alkyl chain lengths, ranging from C2 (ethanethiol), C4 (1-butnaethiol), C6 (1-hexanethiol), C8 (1-octanethiol), to C10 (1-decanethiol) at the water-hexane interface. These 2D films show strong collective localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) extinction bands that are tunable via near-field coupling of adjacent Au NPs. Pronounced chain-length-dependent red shifts of the SPR bands have been observed for the PEI-capped Au films. PC-based Hand-Geometry Verification System

Biometrics are getting more and more attention in recent years for security and other concerns. So far, only fingerprint recognition has seen limited success for on-line security check, since other biometrics verification and identification systems require more complicated and expensive acquisition interfaces and recognition processes. Hand-Geometry can be used for biometric verification and identification because of its acquisition convenience and good performance for verification and identification performance. It could also be a good candidate for online checks. Therefore, this paper proposes a Hand-Geometry recognition system based on geometrical features of hand. From anatomical point of view, human hand can be characterized by its length, width, thickness, geometrical composition, shapes of the palm, and shape and geometry of the fingers. This paper proposes thirty relevant features for a Hand-Geometry recognition system. This system presents verification results based on hand measurements of 20 individuals. The verification process has been tested on a size of $320{\times}240$ image, and result of the verification process have hit rate of 95% and FAR of 0.020.

Flow and Pressure Drop Characteristics of R22 in Adiabatic Capillary Tubes

The objective of this study is to present flow and pressure drop characteristics of R22 in adiabatic capillary tubes of inner diameters of 1.2 to 2.0mm, and tube lengths of 500 to 2000mm. Distributions of temperature and pressure along capillary tubes and the refrigerant flow rates through the tubes were measured for several condensing temperatures and various degrees of subcooling at the capillary tube inlet. Condensing temperatures of R22 were selected as 40, 45, and 50$^{\circ}C$ at the capillary tube inlet, and the degree of subcooling was adjusted to 1 to 18$^{\circ}C$. Experimental results including mass flow rates and pressure drops of R22 in capillary tubes were provided. A new correlation based on Buckingham II theorem to predict the mass flow rate through the capillary tube was presented considering major parameters which affect the flow and pressure drop characteristcis.
