Akio Komori,T. Shimozuma,T. Ido,T. Kobuchi,T. Seki,T. Ozaki,T. Fujita,T. Watari,T. Akiyama,T. Tokuzawa,T. Uda,T. Minami,Y. Nakamura,Y. Torii,Y. Sakamoto,Y. Takeiri,Y. Nagayama,Y. Oka,Y. Narushima,Y. Y 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.49 No.III
In the Large Helical Device (LHD), some reactor-oriented experiments, i.e. high beta, high ion temperature, steady state operation, have produced remarkable progress in recent experimental campaigns. By optimizing the rotational transform, an average beta value of 4.3 %, which is the highest on record for helical devices, was achieved. The ICRF sustained steady-state discharges for more than 30 minutes, these were also successfully performed with the aid of the magnetic axis swing technique for the reduction of the heat load to the plasma-facing component. In the discharge, the total input energy to the plasma reached 1.3 GJ, which also established a new record.1
Constraints on GUT 7-brane topology in F-theory
Hayashi, H.,Kawano, T.,Watari, T. North-Holland Pub. Co 2012 Physics letters: B Vol.708 No.1
We study the relation between phenomenological requirements and the topology of the surfaces that GUT 7-branes wrap in F-theory compactifications. In addition to the exotic matter free condition in the hypercharge flux scenario of SU(5)GUT breaking, we analyze a new condition that comes from a discrete symmetry aligning the contributions to low-energy Yukawa matrices from a number of codimension-three singularity points. We see that the exotic matter free condition excludes Hirzebruch surfaces (except F0) as the GUT surface, correcting an existing proof in the literature. We further find that the discrete symmetry for the alignment of the Yukawa matrices excludes del Pezzo surfaces and a rational elliptic surface as the GUT surface. Therefore, some GUT 7-brane surfaces are good for some phenomenological requirements, but sometimes not for others, and this aspect should be kept in mind in geometry search in F-theory compactifications.
NONLINEAR FORCE-FREE MODELING OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SIGMOID OBSERVED ON THE SUN
Inoue, S.,Magara, T.,Watari, S.,Choe, G. S. IOP Publishing 2012 The Astrophysical journal Vol.747 No.1
<P>In this work, we analyze the characteristics of the three-dimensional magnetic structure of a sigmoid observed over an active region (AR 10930) and followed by X-class flares. This is accomplished by combining a nonlinear force-free field (NLFFF) model of a coronal magnetic field and the high-resolution vector-field measurement of a photospheric magnetic field by Hinode. The key findings of our analysis reveal that the value of the X-ray intensity associated with the sigmoid is more sensitive to the strength of the electric current rather than the twist of the field lines. The strong electric current flows along the magnetic field lines and composes the central part of the sigmoid, even though the twist of the field lines is weak in that region. On the other hand, the outer region (i.e., the elbow part) of the sigmoid is basically occupied by field lines of strong twist and weak current density. Consequently, weak X-ray emission is observed. As the initial Ca II illumination basically occurs from the central part of the sigmoid, this region plays an important role in determining the onset mechanism of the flare despite its weak twisted field-line configuration. We also compare our results with the magnetohydrodynamic simulation for the formation of a sigmoid. Although the estimated values of the twist from the simulation are found to be a little higher than the values obtained from the NLFFF, we find that the field-line configurations generated by the simulation and NLFFF are remarkably analogous as long as we deal with the lower coronal region.</P>
반응용융 침투법에 의한 $Al_2O_3/AL$복합재료의 제조 및 기계적 특성 평가
윤여범,김송희,태원필,T. Watari 한국결정성장학회 1997 韓國結晶成長學會誌 Vol.7 No.4
$Al_2O_3$/Al composite was produced by the infiltration of molten Al Into $Al_2$O$_3$ preform at 900-$1200^{\circ}C$, The process was accelerated by spreading borosilicate glass powder onto the interface between Al powder compact and $Al_2O_3$ preform. Melt infiltration initialed after incubation period, and the growth of infiltration was observed to be linearly propotional with time. The major components of the composite are $Al_2O_3$ and Al with a trace of Si which is remained from borosilicate, the reaction accelerator. Relative density of the composite increased with the particle size of $Al_2O_3$ but decreased with infiltration temperature. As infiltration temperature increases from room to $950^{\circ}C$ higher strength and fracture toughness were obtained.
Effects of Elastic Behaviours of Dies and Servo Press Machine on Deep Drawing Process
A. Watanabe,Y. Kotani,K. Nishimura,H. Watari,T. Yamazaki 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
Various characteristic features of elastic deformation of dies and presses during deep drawing were presented. It was very important to examine the effects of elastic deformation of these units on product accuracy. Strains were measured on the press system including dies, a slide and a bolster of a servo press. A strain magnitude of 63 ×10-6 was obtained when the overall slide position was at the lowest point. Two slide motions of the servo press were selected to determine appropriate manufacturing conditions. An elastic deformation analysis of the die structure was then required by CAD simulation. To find the appropriate die structure model, the vertical displacement of the die structure in the CAD simulation only was compared to the experiment results. It was found that the vertical displacement of the die structure was 0.176 mm at the top surface of the die considering elastic deformation of the die structure as well as the bolster of the servo press.
