Among the used vehicles, the number of heavy duty vehicles isnot so big, but the effect to environment is so high. So, it is very important to regulate emission and measure precisely in heavy duty vehicles. Chassis dynamometer for heavy duty vehicles which was introduced to the domestic research center in this year can measure exhaust emission of heavy duty vehicles(more than 3.5tons) at real road condition. Beside this measuring system has advantage forsaving time and cost. In spite of these advantages, it is impossible to adjust almost every(0.57million) used vehicles to the system. Therefore, research for measuring emission with PEMS(Portable On-board Emission Measurement System) which is portable and easy to equip, is on process. In this paper, we calculated Dilution Factor as well as analyzed density and total amount of emission to compare CVS(Constant volume sampler) system and PEMS through measured data from a same vehicle at the same time.
A Fuel Cell Simulator for Control Logic Verification and Operator Training

This research presents a fuel cell simulator for control logic verification and operator training. Nowadays, power industries are focusing on clean energy as a response to new policy. The fuel cell can be the solution for clean energy, but operating technology is not well developed compared to other conventional power plans because of its short history. Therefore we need a simulator to verify the new control strategy and train operators, because the price of a real fuel cell system is too high and mechanically weak to be used for these kind of purposes. To develop the simulator, a 300 KW MCFC(Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell) system was modeled with stack, BOPs(pre-reformer, steam generator, etc) and mechanical components(valves, pipes, pumps, blowers, etc). The process model was integrated to emulated control system and HMI(Human Machine Interface). A static load and open loop tests were conducted for verifying the accuracy of the process model, since it is the most important part in the simulation. After verifying the process model, an automatic load change and start-up tests were conducted to verify the performance of a new control strategy(logic and functional loops).

<P> The present study was to evaluate the protective effects of bromocriptine, which is known as D<SUB>2</SUB> dopamine receptor agonist and used for the treatment of patients with Parkinson s disease (PD), on 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced neurotoxicity <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. Lipid peroxidation product (malondialdehyde; MDA) produced by the administration of 6-OHDA was profoundly reduced following the treatment of bromocriptine in a dose-dependent manner in rabbit brain homogenate. Quinone formation by 6-OHDA autoxidation was also attenuated, and its effect was as potent as other antioxidants. Pretreatment of bromocriptine reduced the cytotoxicity of 6-OHDA on SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cell lines dose-dependently. The loss of striatal dopamine and its metabolite, DOPAC (dihydroxyphenylacetic acid) as well as increase of MDA production caused by intrastriatal injection of 6-OHDA was significantly recovered following the treatment of bromocriptine. The present study clearly showed that bromocriptine had a protective action against 6-OHDA-induced neurotoxicity. These results suggest that bromocriptine has the antioxidant properties, which could be another advantage for delaying the progress of Parkinson s disease.

The automatic transmission is composed by many rotating parts transmitting a driving force. Heat is generated by the friction between the rotating parts, and the function of the parts can be degraded due to the heat. Therefore, adequate lubricating oil (oversupply= power losses, undersupply= lack of lubrication) is needed for the friction parts. The amount of lubricating oil is decided by the shape of lubrication flow and lubricant properties and quantity of lubricating oil. For the adequate amount of the lubricating oil without trial and error, lubrication design method should be developed that can consider the above factors. In this study, CFD is used for the lubrication design method to analyze and reflect the above factors, and the result is equivalent to the experiment. In the future, it is expected to be optimization of the lubrication flow design by using this method.

This study was to investigate the role of complementary and alternative medicine in the prevention and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. For this purpose, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was performed over 12 months on 47 benign prostatic hyperplasia patients with average age of 53.3 years and international prostate symptom score over 8. Subjects received either sweet potato starch (group A, placebo, 320 ㎎/day), pumpkin seed oil (group B, 320 ㎎/day), saw palmetto oil (group C, 320 ㎎/day) or pumpkin seed oil plus saw palmetto oil (group D, each 320 ㎎/day). International prostate symptom score, quality of life, serum prostate specific antigen, prostate volume and maximal urinary flow rate were measured. In groups B, C and D, the international prostate symptom score were reduced by 3 months. Quality of life score was improved after 6 months in group D, while those of groups B and C were improved after 3 months, compared to the baseline value. Serum prostate specific antigen was reduced only in group D after 3 months, but no difference was observed in prostate volume in all treatment groups. Maximal urinary flow rate were gradually improved in groups B and C, with statistical significance after 6 months in group B and after 12 months in group C. None of the parameters were significantly improved by combined treatment with pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto oil. From these results, it is suggested that administrations of pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto oil are clinically safe and may be effective as complementary and alternative medicine treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
수중 내 발포성 정제로부터 생성된 미세기포 특성에 관한 실험적 연구

Effervescent tablets generate gas bubbles when chemical reaction occurs between water and tablets. Most of previous studies have been focused on pharmaceutical characteristics of tablets. However, for their applications in disinfectants, cleaners, and pesticides, physical characteristics of bubbles released from the effervescent tablets when they are in water are important. In this study, we experimentally investigated the characteristics of microbubbles generated by an effervescent tablet made of sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid using PDPA and high-speed camera. Microbubbles were generated using different weights of effervescent tablet as well as in different water temperature. The experimental study shows increase in reaction time, bubble concentration and rise velocity as the weight of effervescent tablet increases from 1 to 20 g. The decrease in average bubble diameter was observed when the temperature of water increased from 25 to 45 ℃. Further, reaction time varies inversely with increase in water temperature, while bubble rise velocity is directly proportional to increase in water temperature. Effervescent table continuously generates the bubble with approximately constant diameter (235 μm) in the water. However, bubble concentration and bubble rise velocity decreased over time.
