The virtual asthma guideline e-learning program: learning effectiveness and user satisfaction

Background/Aims: Effective educational tools are important for increasing adherence to asthma guidelines and clinical improvement of asthma patients. We developed a computer-based interactive education program for asthma guideline named the Virtual Learning Center for Asthma Management (VLCAM). We evaluated the usefulness of program in terms of its effects on user awareness of asthma guideline and level of satisfaction. Methods: Physicians-in-training at tertiary hospitals in Korea were enrolled in a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The e-learning program on asthma guideline was conducted over a 2-week period. We investigated changes in the awareness of asthma guideline using 35-item self-administered questionnaire aiming at assessing physicians’ knowledge, attitude, and practice. Satisfaction with the program was scored on 4-point Likert scales. Results: A total of 158 physicians-in-training at six tertiary hospitals completed the survey. Compared with baseline, the overall awareness obtained from the scores of knowledge, attitude, and practice was improved significantly. Participants were satisfied with the VLCAM program in the following aspects: helpfulness, convenience, motivation, effectiveness, physicians’ confidence, improvement of asthma management, and willingness to recommend. All items in user satisfaction questionnaires received high scores over 3 points. Moreover, the problem-based learning with a virtual patient received the highest user satisfaction among all parts of the program. Conclusions: Our computer-based e-learning program is useful for improving awareness of asthma management. It could improve adherence to asthma guidelines and enhance the quality of asthma care.

The effects of sonication and vacuum infiltration on transformation efficiency was investigated by using immature embryos of Korean wheat as explants. Two Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains, KYRT1 and EHA105, carrying pCAMBIA 1305.1 were used. Transformation efficiency was demonstrated by the detection of $\beta-glucu-ronidase$ (GUS) activity. GUS expression showed clear difference among Korean wheat cultivars. Geurumil showed higher GUS expression efficiency $79.1\%$ compared with other cultivars. The effects of the duration of vacuum infiltration and sonication treatment showed a tendency high GUS expression efficiency by their combination. In comparison with other Agrobacterium strains, KYRT1 showed high efficiency in most Korean cultivars.

산화제 과잉 예연소기의 연소시험을 통해 예연소기 각 부위에서 압력을 측정하였다. 측정결과는 FFT를 통해 주파수 해석이 이루어 졌으나 정압 센서의 한계로 인하여 250 ㎐ 이상의 주파수에는 자세한 연구가 이루어지지 못하였다. 정압 데이터 분석결과 30 ㎐의 하모닉스가 연소압과 산소입구에서 관측 되었다. 따라서 연소압의 변화는 O/F 변화로 인한 것으로 파악된다. 반면에 동압센서 신호를 살펴보면 정압센서에서 확연히 나타났던 주파수보다 훨씬 더 명확한 주파수가 보다 높은 ㎐에서 관측되는 것을 알 수 있었다. An oxygen rich preburner was tested and the responses from the pressure sensors were studied with FFT analysis. Since the limited capability of the static sensor, less than 250 ㎐ frequency domain was investigated and compared to the results of the dynamic sensors. As a result, 60 ㎐ harmonics were presented dominant in the combustion pressure and oxygen inlet pressure. While similar harmonics were shown with the dynamic sensor, it indicated that harmonics less than 60 ㎐ were very minor and the high frequency is more important.
Kinase Suppressor of Ras 1 Promotes YAP/TAZ-Mediated Tumorigenesis in the Liver

Aims: Liver cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The Hippo signaling pathway is tumor suppressive, as its inactivation leads to tissue overgrowth and tumor formation via YAP- or TAZ-mediated transcriptional activation. YAP is overexpressed in 62% of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and in almost 90% of human cholangiocarcinoma (CCC). Kinase Suppressor of Ras 1 (KSR1) is a scaffold protein for the Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling pathway, promoting activation of MEK and ERK. Pro-tumorigenic roles of KSR1 in Ras-activated cancers have been verified in murine models for lung, skin, and pancreatic cancers. In this study, we have investigated the role of KSR1 in YAP/TAZ-mediated hepatocarcinogenesis. Methods: Transposons were constructed encoding KSR1 and an activated from of TAZ (TAZ<sup>S89A</sup>). Transposons were hydrodynamically delivered to livers of 6-week-old C57BL/6 mice. Mice were monitored at least twice per week and sacrificed when moribund. Tumor-bearing livers were formalin fixed for hematoxylin-eosin staining and immunohistochemistry. Results: Analysis of gene expression levels in human HCC and CCC samples deposited in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) revealed that KSR1 was significantly upregulated both in human HCC and CCC, compared with non-tumoral surrounding livers (P<0.0001 in HCC and P=0.0063 in CCC). Co-expression of KSR1 and an activated form of TAZ (TAZ<sup>S89A</sup>) led to the development of both HCC and CCC in the murine livers, while expression of TAZ<sup>S89A</sup> alone failed to induce hepatic tumors. Conclusions: KSR1 promotes hepatocarcinogenesis, both in HCC and CCC. Suppression of KSR1 might be an attractive therapeutic option for both types of hepatic malignancies.

The Kyuong-Bu high speed railroad construction and operation was successful and the Ho-Nam high speed railroad construction be nearing complete. The Minister of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs was revision to the railroad construction rule in september, 2009, for a standardization of railroad construction technology. Railroad design standard and guideline are being researched for detail explanation and supplement of the railroad construction rule. This paper is research of basic theory on a railroad design standard and guideline of high speed and normal speed for a railroad electric part in proportion to UIC, EN, IEC, other standard etc. This standard and guideline object is for a design of electric railroad part that corresponding to a national condition and a international rule.

본 논문에서는 최근 다양한 분야에 응용되고 있는 Computer -supported Cooperative work(CSCW)를 위한 새로운 구조적 모델을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 구조적 모델은 현재까지 만들어져온 CSCW 시스템 모델들의 특징과 구조를 분석하고서, 분산 환경을 기반 환경으로 해서 보다 객체 지향적으로 설계한 것으로서 완벽한 peer to peer 의 구조를 취한다. DOVE(Distributed Object-oriented Virtual Environment)라는 분산 환경 하에서 설계된 본 시스템은 D OVE가 제공하는 서비스의 하나인 객체 그룹 원격 호출(Object group method invocation)을 이용해서 객체들에 대해서 멀티캐스팅하는 방식을 사용했으며 이를 통해 cooperative work를 위한 최고의 성능을 제공할 수 있도록 설계되었다.
