<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Graphite has been the most common anode materials in the Li-ion batteries (LIBs). However, it has a limited Coulombic efficiency and cycling stability which are crucial for the practical use of LIBs. Here, we present a lithium (Li)-intercalated graphite (LIG) electrode with a stable passivating layer on the surface for an improved electrochemical performance. The LIG was prepared by thermal treatment of commercial graphite in the presence of Li metal vapor and subsequent exposure to air. Characterization revealed that the surface of LIG was passivated by a thin inorganic compound (Li2CO3). This passivation layer on the graphite surface function as a preformed stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) films and allows the graphite electrode to deliver a high reversible capacity, high Coulombic efficiency, and stable cycle life.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Lithium intercalated graphite (LIG) with a thin passivation layer on the surface was produced. </LI> <LI> A passivation layer consisting of Li2CO3 functions as preformed stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film. </LI> <LI> Lithium ion batteries with LIG shows a high reversible capacity, high Coulombic efficiency, and stable cycle life. </LI> </UL> </P>
오픈 소스 기반의 산업용 터치 패널형 HMI 소프트웨어 모듈 구현
최숙영(Sukyoung Choi),문승진(Seoungj in Moon) 한국정보과학회 2004 한국정보과학회 학술발표논문집 Vol.31 No.2Ⅲ

Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) is one of the most popular ornamental species in the world due to the great diversity of inflorescence form and color. There has been increasing demands for various types of chrysanthemums, such as cut flowers, potted plants and bedding plants. However, the genomic studies of this species have been not extensively conducted relative to other ornamental species due to high levels of polyploidy (2n = 4x =36 or 2n = 6x = 54) and heterozygosity as well as large genome size. In this work, we developed a molecular tool for cultivar identification using simple sequence repeats (SSRs) and investigated genetic diversity in 127 chrysanthemum cultivars. Of the 150 SSR primer pairs tested in this study, 62 primers were obtained from previous studies, while 88 primers were designed using the unigene sequences of C. nankingense and the Expressed Sequence Tag (EST) sequences of C. morifolium in the NCBI database. Thirty SSR primers were selected based on polymorphism and banding patterns in a subset of 8 cultivars and used to amplify the DNA of 127 chrysanthemum cultivars. The UPGMA dendrogram based on these 30 SSR markers showed that most of chrysanthemum cultivars were divided into five clusters. These results will benefit chrysanthemum research community to develop elite cultivars.
Early-type Galaxy Spin Evolution in the Horizon-AGN Simulation
Choi, Hoseung,Yi, Sukyoung K.,Dubois, Yohan,Kimm, Taysun,Devriendt, Julien. E. G.,Pichon, Christophe American Astronomical Society 2018 The Astrophysical journal Vol.856 No.2
<P>Using the Horizon-AGN simulation data, we study the relative role of mergers and environmental effects in shaping the spin of early-type galaxies (ETGs) after z similar or equal to 1. We follow the spin evolution of 10,037 color-selected ETGs more massive than 10(10) M-circle dot that are divided into four groups: cluster centrals (3%), cluster satellites (33%), group centrals (5%), and field ETGs (59%). We find a strong mass dependence of the slow rotator fraction, f(SR), and the mean spin of massive ETGs. Although we do not find a clear environmental dependence of f(SR), a weak trend is seen in the mean value of the spin parameter driven by the satellite ETGs as they gradually lose their spin as their environment becomes denser. Galaxy mergers appear to be the main cause of total spin changes in 94% of the central ETGs of halos with M-vir > 10(12.5) M-circle dot, but only 22% of satellite and field ETGs. We find that non-mergerinduced tidal perturbations better correlate with the galaxy spin down in satellite ETGs than in mergers. Given that the majority of ETGs are not central in dense environments, we conclude that non-merger tidal perturbation effects played a key role in the spin evolution of ETGs observed in the local (z < 1) universe.</P>

On the Evolution of Galaxy Spin in a Cosmological Hydrodynamic Simulation of Galaxy Clusters
Choi, Hoseung,Yi, Sukyoung K. American Astronomical Society 2017 The Astrophysical journal Vol.837 No.1
<P>The traditional view of the morphology-spin connection is being challenged by recent integral field unit observations, as the majority of early-type galaxies are found to have a rotational component that is often as large as a dispersion component. Mergers are often suspected to be critical in galaxy spin evolution, yet the details of their roles are still unclear. We present the first results on the spin evolution of galaxies in cluster environments through a cosmological hydrodynamic simulation. Galaxies spin down globally with cosmic evolution. Major (mass ratios > 1/4) and minor ( 1/4 >= mass ratios > 1/50) mergers are important contributors to the spin-down in particular in massive galaxies. Minor mergers appear to have stronger cumulative effects than major mergers. Surprisingly, the dominant driver of galaxy spin-down seems to be environmental effects rather than mergers. However, since multiple processes act in combination, it is difficult to separate their individual roles. We briefly discuss the caveats and future studies that are called for.</P>
Heat release analysis is a very important method in understanding the combustion phenomena inside an engine cylinder. In this study, one-zone heat release analysis was used with the measured cylinder pressures of a HSDI(high speed direct injection) and IDI(indirect injection) diesel engine. It has benefits of simple equation, fast speed, reliability. The object of the study is to compare the combustion characteristics between a HSDI and an IDI. Result of analysis, the maximum heat release rate of a HSDI is higher than an IDI because of long ignition delay period. The heat release curve of a IDI is more linear than an HSDI, so the combustion characteristics of a IDI is similiar to that of an SI engine. The combustion efficiency of a HSDI is higher than that of an IDI because of the smaller heat transfer loss of an HSDI.
