Effects of Bt rice on Rice Arthropods

To assess effects of Bt rice expressing a synthetic Cry1Ac1 gene for control Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenee) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), we conducted laboratory tests to evaluate the potential impacts of Bt rice on non-target herbivore, non-target pollen-feeder and non-target predator. Also we investigated the community structure of arthropods in Bt and non-Bt rice fields during the rice-growing season in 2007 and 2008. There were no significant differences in development, survival and emergence of non-target herbivores, non-target pollen-feeder and non-target predators between Bt and non-Bt rice although tibia length of non-target predators with BPH feeding on Bt rice showed significantly longer than in non-Bt rice. In 2-year field study, a total of 43 familes in 10 orders were identified from 64,099 collected insects and a total of 29 species in 23 genera and 9 families were identified from 4,937 collected spiders. Abundance, Shannon’s index and family richness in insects and species richness in spiders were very similar between Bt and non-Bt rice for 2 years and there was no significant difference. The results indicated that the transgenic Cry1Ac rice tested in this study had no adverse effects on the rice insect and spider community structure in field condition and on the development, survival, emergence and adult fitness parameter of non-target arthropods in the laboratory conditions.

중년 남성 관상동맥질환자의 성기능, 자아존중감, 건강행위 간의 관계

Purpose: This study was done to investigate the correlation among sexual function, self-esteem, and health behaviors in middle-aged men with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: Data were collected from 89 middle-aged men at a general hospital in Seoul between May 8^th 2017 and Sep 30^th 2017. A structured questionnaire was used to measure the study variables. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation coefficient using SPSS 23.0 software. Results: Sexual function and self-esteem were positively correlated(r=.44, p<.001), self-esteem and health behaviors were positively correlated(r=.46, p<.001). Health behaviors and sexual function were positively correlated(r = .32, p=.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study Indicate that sexual function and self-esteem are significant variables related to health behaviors in middle-aged men with coronary artery disease. Therefore, nursing interventions should be developed and applied to promote health behaviors in patients with coronary artery disease by considering sexual function and self-esteem.

Biodiversity of Arthropods between GM and non-GM Rice Field

Biodiversity of arthropods in Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) resistant GM rice (CryIAc1) and non-GM rice fields. Sampling was conducted 15 times using sweeping net and electric aspirator. Biodiversity was analyzed with species richness and Shannon diversity index (H’). Total 28,275 arthropod individuals (12,413 in GM rice and 15,862 individuals in non-GM rice) were collected and there were 22 families, 34 genera and 36 species belonging to 8 orders. There were 19 families, 29 genera, 31 species in GM rice and 20 families 32 genera 34 species in non-GM rice fields. There was no significant difference in species richness and species diversity (H’) between GM and non-GM rice. Species diversity was significantly higher in non GM rice in the insect pest group only in middle and late of August .

국내 공간디자인 관련 전시회의 주제 분석을 통한 디자인 트렌드 변화 연구

본 연구의 목적은 1980년대 이후부터 2013년 현재까지 국내의 주요 공간디자인 관련 전시회의 주제 및 내용 분석을 통해 공간디자인 트렌드를 분석하는 것이다. 이와 더불어 시기별로 나타나는 주요한 정치, 경제, 사회문화적 배경과의 관련 속에서 디자인 트렌드의 변화 양상을 파악하고 논의하고자 하였다. 1980년대 후반부터 주거, 실내디자인 및 건축과 관련된 관심이 높아지면서 1986년 경향하우징페어를 필두로 국내에서 공간디자인 관련 전시회가 처음으로 개최되었다. 이후 1990년대는 서울 리빙디자인 페어를 비롯하여 건축, 인테리어 및 디자인 관련분야의 다양한 전시회가 실시되었다. 그러나 1990년대 후반 부실시공과 IMF 사태 등으로 인해 건축업계가 축소되었고 이를 계기로 품질개선의 중요성이 대두되었다. 2000년대는 인터넷 활성화 및 글로벌화가 부각되던 시기로 가구 및 인구구조의 다양화에 따라 주택수요 및 공간디자인에 대한 요구 역시 다양화되는 특성을 보였다. 또한 지속가능 발전 세계정상회의(WSSD)와 G20 정상회담의 개최로 자연, 녹색성장, 저탄소 등 친환경과 관련된 개념이 강조되면서 주거, 건축 및 인테리어 디자인에도 많은 영향을 미쳤다. 2010년 이후에는 특히 소셜 네트워크(SNS), 스마트 기기의 활성화로 인터렉션디자인(interaction design) 분야가 발전하는 동시에 아날로그적 감성을 중시하는 디자인이 관심을 받았다. 본 연구 결과 공간디자인 트렌드는 당시의 시대적인 요구 및 정치적, 사회적, 경제적 배경 등을 종합적으로 반영되어 나타나는 결과 또는 그렇게 변화해가는 과정임을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatial design trend through the analysis of the themes and the contents of the major spatial design exhibition in Korea - Kyung Hyang Housing Fair and Seoul Living Design Fairbased on the periodical issues in political, economic, and socio-cultural background from 1986 to 2013. Content analysis was used as a research method. Periodical information about each exhibition was collected through the online search and supplementary materials such as guidebook were added for content analysis. The major findings were as follows: Since 1980s, there was an increased need and interest for housing and interior design and the 1st Kyung Hyang Housing Fair was opened in 1986. In 1990s, design quality improvement was emphasized based on the issues of IMF and shoddy and fault construction such as collapse of Sam Poong department store. Due to the broad dissemination of internet, globalization, and emergence of diverse household type, demand for housing and interior design was diversified after 2000s. Additionally, the global concepts associated with sustainability, energy saving, and green growth were influenced to spatial design field. Lately, interaction design is rapidly developing due to proliferation of SNS and smart mobile equipment. Meanwhile, there is a continuing trend for emotional design in recent years.

The currently implemented Positive List System, sales manager training, and pesticide sales record systems focus on the safety of determined pesticide use, but the proposed agrochemical pharmacist (AP) system aims accurate diagnosis and reasonable prescription. In this study, 81% of famers claimed expert assistance for purchasing and applying pesticides, and 42~86% of sales managers insisted on the strengthening expertise in diagnosis and prescription. In the institutionalization of AP, a special implementation guideline is essential to embrace the present sales managers with long experience. Sales managers of commercial and agricultural cooperatives recognize the qualifications of agrochemical pharmacists as a strategy to differentiate themselves from competitors, and increase sales through market positioning of "pesticides prescribed by trustworthy agrochemical pharmacists", not sales managers anymore.
