Normalizing Analysis on Partial Discharge Signals of CV-Cable
Hong, Kyung-jin,Oh, Soo-hong,Kim, Tae-sung,So, Soon-youl,Choi, Chang-joo,Lee, Jin CHOSUN UNIVERSITY 1997 Basic Science and Engineering Vol.1 No.2
Recently, insulation aging diagnosis based on the pattern of pulse strength of discharge, phase and the frequency number of discharge has been very important. And it has been reported that aging patterns were formed as the pattern transformation of pulse strength of partial discharge(PD), phase angle and frequency number as well as the initiation and the length of electrical tree. This paper is purposed on the life-time prediction of CV-cable, on the decision of risk degree with normalization and real-time measurement of partial discharge signals for aging diagnosis of CV-cable. By normalizing partial discharge signals, the insulation breakdown patterns of electrical tree are as follows. on the incipient discharge state, the normalization of tree type patterns is formed at 80-100℃ phase and 10%[signal number(SN)/discharge number(*DN)] of the maximum discharge quantity. After discharge initiation, tree type patterns are spreading at 50-120℃ phase, 40-50%[DN/SN] number in a phase and low area of the discharge quantities. But, chestnut type patterns are observed at 60-80%[DN/SN] number in a phase, general area of 10-170℃ phase angle. in conclusion, the diagnosis of electrical tree patterns as well as the decision of risk degree are possible as using normalization of PD signals.

Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is a multifunctional protein that catalyzes the catalyzes the conjugation of glutathione with electrophilic compounds. It exists in a variety of isoenzy-matic froms with a wide range of substrate specificity and plays a pivotal role in detoxification of various drugs. In order to elucidate the GST-${\pi}$'s involvement of multidrug resistance (MDR) in drug-resistant tumor cell lines, we determined GST-${\pi}$ content by "1 step sandwich method". Consequently, adriamycin resistant cells of MCF-7 (MCF-7/ADM) have 7-fold increase of GST-${\pi}$ content than that of MCF-7 cells, while its {TEX}$IC_{50}${/TEX} was 116-fold greater than parent cell line. By northrn blotting, we compared whether MCF-7/ADM cells express GST-${\pi}$ mRNA. The GST-${\pi}$ mRNA expression in these cells was not inducible, but constitutive when treated for 24 h with a concentration of 0, 20, 200, and 2000 nM of adriamycin, respectively. Taken together, these results suggest that GST-${\pi}$ may not be directly associated with multidrug resistance in these human cancer cell lines.ell lines.

OBJECTIVES: This study investigated whether Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKis) raise the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), venous thromboembolism (VTE), and cancer in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). METHODS: We conducted a real-world retrospective observational study using data obtained from the Korean National Health Insurance Service database. Two data sets were analyzed: tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi)/JAKi-naive RA patients (set 1) and all RA patients who used TNFis or JAKis (set 2). The incidence rate ratios (IRRs) and hazard ratios (HRs) for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), stroke, cardiovascular (CV)-related mortality, major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), VTE, arterial thromboembolism (ATE), cancer, and all-cause mortality were compared between the JAKi and TNFi groups. RESULTS: Set 1 included 1,596 RA patients (JAKi group: 645; TNFi group: 951), and set 2 included 11,765 RA patients (JAKi group: 2,498; TNFi group: 9,267). No adverse events (AEs) showed significantly higher IRRs in the JAKi groups than in the TNFi groups of sets 1 and 2. The HRs for MACE in the JAKi groups of sets 1 and 2 were 0.59 (95% confidence [CI], 0.35 to 0.99) and 0.80 (95% CI, 0.67 to 0.97), respectively. The JAKi group of set 2 showed a significantly higher risk of all-cause mortality (HR, 1.71; 95% CI, 1.32 to 2.20), but the other AEs did not demonstrate increased risks in the JAKi groups. CONCLUSIONS: In this study, JAKis did not increase the risk of AMI, stroke, CV-related mortality, MACE, VTE, ATE, or cancer in Korean RA patients relative to TNFis.
Antioxidative and Skin-Whitening Effect of an Aqueous Extract of Salicornia herbacea
SUNG, Jong-Hyuk,PARK, So-Hyun,SEO, Dong-Hwan,LEE, Ju-Hee,HONG, Sang-Won,HONG, Soon-Sun Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology, and A 2009 Bioscience, biotechnology, and biochemistry Vol.73 No.3

Salicornia herbacea (SH) is a halophyte that grows in the salt marshes along the coastline of South Korea, and is known to have antioxidative activity. In this study, the antioxidative and skin-whitening effects of SH aqueous extract were investigated in human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) and B16 melanoma cells. The water extract of SH had potent antioxidative capacity and protected HDFs from tert-butyl hydroperoxide (tbOOH)-induced oxidative stress in a dose-dependent manner. In a cell cycle analysis, pretreatment with SH reversed the apoptotic cell death induced by tbOOH in HDFs. Additionally, the incubation of SH in mushroom tyrosinase inhibited the oxidation of l-dopa to o-dopaquinone, which implies that SH is a potent tyrosinase inhibitor. An SH treatment to B16 melanoma cells decreased the synthesis of melanin and inhibited tyrosinase activity. These results collectively indicate that SH had antioxidative and whitening effects on skin and would be a good candidate for skin rejuvenating agent.

Sang-Pil Mun,Chil-Ryong Kim,Jong-Kurl Lee,Hong-Sin Kim,Sang-Hwa Jung,Soon-Kurl Kwon 한국조명·전기설비학회 2008 조명·전기설비학회논문지 Vol.22 No.3
This research presents a new active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter solving the problem of induction heating PWM high frequency inverter circuit which is using widely in the practical application of an induction heating apparatus, the soft switching operation and power control are impossible when the lowest power supply in the active auxiliary resonant snubber with for induction heating PWM high frequency inverter. The inverter circuit which is attempted by the on-off operation of a switch has the effect of reducing the power loss due to soft switching and high frequency switching. This confirms that power regulation is possible on a continuous basis from 0.25[kW] to 2.84[kW] where the duty factor (D) changes from 0.08 to 0.3 under zero current switching which operates by an asymmetrical pulse width modulating control. The power conversion efficiency is 95[%]. Due to these results, the active auxiliary resonant snubber for an induction heating PWM high frequency inverter is considered effective as a source of induction heating.
