( Shiqiang Zhang ),( Yang Cao ),( Zhenhu Ning ),( Fei Xue ),( Dongzhi Cao ),( Yongli Yang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.9
Node identity authentication is an essential means to ensure the security of the Internet of Things. Existing blockchain-based IoT node authentication schemes have many problems. A heterogeneous IoT node authentication scheme based on an improved hybrid blockchain is proposed. Firstly, the hybrid blockchain model is designed to make the blockchain and IoT environment more compatible. Then the proxy node selection mechanism is intended to establish a bridge between the ordinary IoT node and the blockchain, building by calculating the trust value between nodes. Finally, based on the improved hybrid blockchain, the node authentication scheme of the model and proxy node selection mechanism establishes a secure connection for communication between nodes. Safety and performance analysis shows proper safety and performance.
A real-time multiple vehicle tracking method for traffic congestion identification
( Xiaoyu Zhang ),( Shiqiang Hu ),( Huanlong Zhang ),( Xing Hu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.6
Traffic congestion is a severe problem in many modern cities around the world. Real-time and accurate traffic congestion identification can provide the advanced traffic management systems with a reliable basis to take measurements. The most used data sources for traffic congestion are loop detector, GPS data, and video surveillance. Video based traffic monitoring systems have gained much attention due to their enormous advantages, such as low cost, flexibility to redesign the system and providing a rich information source for human understanding. In general, most existing video based systems for monitoring road traffic rely on stationary cameras and multiple vehicle tracking method. However, most commonly used multiple vehicle tracking methods are lack of effective track initiation schemes. Based on the motion of the vehicle usually obeys constant velocity model, a novel vehicle recognition method is proposed. The state of recognized vehicle is sent to the GM-PHD filter as birth target. In this way, we relieve the insensitive of GM-PHD filter for new entering vehicle. Combining with the advanced vehicle detection and data association techniques, this multiple vehicle tracking method is used to identify traffic congestion. It can be implemented in real-time with high accuracy and robustness. The advantages of our proposed method are validated on four real traffic data.

Erosion damage affects the reliability and durability of axial piston pumps. An axial piston pump was tested using endurance life testing method. The phenomenon of erosion damage on the valve plate was observed using a confocal laser scanning microscope, by comparing the surface on the valve plate before and after the endurance life testing. A CFD turbulence model inclusive of the cavitation effects was developed to predict the flow physics. The flow physics in the axial piston pump were presented and analyzed, including the fluid velocities, velocity fields, the total volume fraction fields of gas and vapor, and pressure fields. Two causes of erosion damage were found, the appearances of large amount of vapor, and directly hitting by the jetting flow. The first one is the cause of erosion damage on the surface near the transition region from the inlet port to the outlet port, and the second one is the cause of erosion damage on the surface near the transition region from the outlet port to the inlet port. Besides, the findings show that the fluid velocities closely relate to the area of erosion damage. The study provides insights into the occurrence of erosion damage in axial piston pumps.

This study proposed an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) method ensemble with kriging model for model updating. By introducing genetic algorithm (GA) and grouping strategy together with elite selection into standard particle optimization (PSO), the IPSO is obtained. Kriging metamodel serves for predicting the structural responses to avoid complex computation via finite element model. The combination of IPSO and kriging model shall provide more accurate searching results and obtain global optimal solution for model updating compared with the PSO, Simulate Annealing PSO (SimuAPSO), BreedPSO and PSOGA. A plane truss structure and ASCE Benchmark frame structure are adopted to verify the proposed approach. The results indicated that the hybrid of kriging model and IPSO could serve for model updating effectively and efficiently. The updating results further illustrated that IPSO can provide superior convergent solutions compared with PSO, SimuAPSO, BreedPSO and PSOGA.

Huashan Liu,Yang Zhang,Shiqiang Zhu 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2015 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.13 No.5
In this paper, the inverse kinematics (IK) for robot manipulators with Pieper-Criterion based geometry is investigated from a novel perspective. Different from the traditional inverse transformation method, properties on orthogonal matrix, dot product operation and block matrix are synthetically involved in the proposed schemes to help simplify the IK solving, where the IK matrix equations are transformed into pure algebraic equations without any complex calculations of the inverses for transformation matrices. In the meantime, the linear combinations of related equations in the IK solving ensure the solutions free of extraneous roots, which enhances the computational efficiency further. Moreover, the singularity problem is fully addressed for a specific robot manipulator of such kind. Finally, experimental tests are provided to verify the proposed IK schemes.

<P>Rapid advances in genetics are linking mutations on genes to diseases at an exponential rate, yet characterizing the gene mutation-cell behavior relationships essential for precision medicine remains a daunting task. More than 350 mutations on small GTPase BRaf are associated with various tumors, and similar to 40 mutations are associated with the neurodevelopmental disorder cardio-facio-cutaneous syndrome (CFC). Wedeveloped a fast cost-effective lentivirus-based rapid gene replacement method to interrogate the physiopathology of BRaf and similar to 50 disease-linked BRaf mutants, including all CFC-linked mutants. Analysis of simultaneous multiple patch-clamp recordings from 6068 pairs of rat neurons with validation in additional mouse and human neurons and multiple learning tests from 1486 rats identified BRaf as the key missing signaling effector in the common synaptic NMDA-R-CaMKII-SynGap-Ras-BRaf-MEK-ERK transduction cascade. Moreover, the analysis creates the original big data unveiling three general features of BRaf signaling. This study establishes the first efficient procedure that permits large-scale functional analysis of human disease-linked mutations essential for precision medicine.</P>

In this paper, the impact on seismic performance of an economical effective technique for retrofitting reinforced concrete (RC) columns using high-strength steel strips under high axial compression ratios was presented. The experimental program included a series of cyclic loading tests on one nonretrofitted control specimen and three retrofitted specimens. The effects of the axial compression ratio and spacing of the steel strips on the cyclic behavior of the specimens were studied. Based on the test results, the failure modes, hysteretic characteristics, strength and stiffness degradation, displacement ductility, and energy dissipation capacity of the specimens were analyzed in-depth. The analysis showed that the transverse confinement provided by the high-strength steel strips could effectively delay and restrain diagonal crack development and improve the failure mode, which was flexural-shear failure controlled by flexural failure with better ductility. The specimens retrofitted using high-strength steel strips showed more satisfactory seismic performance than the control specimen. The seismic performance and deformation capacity of the retrofitted RC columns increased with decreasing axial compression ratio and steel strip spacing. Based on the test results, a hysteretic model for RC columns that considers the transverse confinement of high-strength steel strips was then established. The hysteretic model showed good agreement with the experimental results, which verified the effectiveness of the proposed hysteretic model. Therefore, the aforementioned analysis can be used for the design of retrofitted RC columns.
Stability-based On-demand Multi-path Distance Vector Protocol for Edge Internet of Things
Dongzhi Cao,Peng Liang,Tongjuan Wu,Shiqiang Zhang,Zhenhu Ning 한국인터넷정보학회 2023 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.17 No.10
In edge computing scenarios, IoT end devices play a crucial role in relaying and forwarding data to significantly improve IoT network performance. However, traditional routing mechanisms are not applicable to this scenario due to differences in network size and environment. Therefore, it becomes crucial to establish an effective and reliable data transmission path to ensure secure communication between devices. In this paper, we propose a trusted path selection strategy that comprehensively considers multiple attributes, such as link stability and edge cooperation, and selects a stable and secure data transmission path based on the link life cycle, energy level, trust level, and authentication status. In addition, we propose the Stability-based On-demand Multipath Distance Vector (STAOMDV) protocol based on the Ad hoc AOMDV protocol. The STAOMDV protocol implements the collection and updating of link stability attributes during the route discovery and maintenance process. By integrating the STAOMDV protocol with the proposed path selection strategy, a dependable and efficient routing mechanism is established for IoT networks in edge computing scenarios. Simulation results validate that the proposed STAOMDV model achieves a balance in network energy consumption and extends the overall network lifespan.

The meniscus is vital for maintaining knee homeostasis and function. Meniscal calcification is one of the earliest radiological indicators of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and meniscal calcification is associated with alterations in biomechanical properties. Meniscal calcification originates from a biochemical process similar to vascular calcification. Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and their receptors (RAGEs) reportedly play critical roles in vascular calcification. Herein, we investigated whether targeting AGE-RAGE is a potential treatment for meniscal calcification. In our study, we demonstrated that AGE-RAGE promotes the osteogenesis of meniscal cells and exacerbates meniscal calcification. Mechanistically, AGE-RAGE activates mTOR and simultaneously promotes ATF4 accumulation, thereby facilitating the ATF4-mTOR positive feedback loop that enhances the osteogenic capacity of meniscal cells. In this regard, mTOR inhibits ATF4 degradation by reducing its ubiquitination, while ATF4 activates mTOR by increasing arginine uptake. Our findings substantiate the unique role of AGE-RAGE in the meniscus and reveal the role of the ATF4-mTOR positive feedback loop during the osteogenesis of meniscal cells; these results provide potential therapeutic targets for KOA.
