        Researching on X-Band Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Efficiency of MWCNTs Buckypapers Inserted with Mn Nanopowder

        Ultrathin multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) buckypapers inserted with Mn nanopowder were fabricated via vacuum filtration method, at a lower manufacturing cost and easier operation. The buckypapers were characterized structurally using scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometer and X-ray diffraction. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of MWCNTs buckypapers inserted with Mn nanopowder (0–30 wt.%) were tested in X-band (8.2–12.4 GHz). When the blended Mn nanopowder content is 20 wt.%, the buckypaper exhibits much higher EMI SE of average value up to 42 dB with the thickness of only 0.11 mm. Further, this buckypaper is flexible and lightweight, and can be integrated with resin matrix composites. Thus, the results and techniques promise a simple and effective approach to achieve lightweight and ultrathin composite films for a wide application prospect in the field of EMI shielding and microwave absorption.

        Genome‑Wide Identifcation and Functional Prediction of Long Non‑coding RNAs in the Genesis of Populus euphratica Oliv. Heteromorphic Leaves

        Recent extensive studies of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have shown that lncRNAs play an important role in plant development and growth. Populus euphratica Oliv. is the only natural tree species in the Taklimakan desert with leaves that change shapes at diferent growth stages. LncRNAs can afect biological functions in P. euphratica heterophyllous morphogenesis, but there are few reports on this subject in the literature. In this study, chain-specifc transcriptome sequencing and small RNA sequencing were performed using linear, lanceolate, broad-ovate and ovoid leaves of P. euphratica. A total of 442 novel P. euphratica lncRNAs were predicted and the expression profles of 4460 lncRNAs were analyzed. 371 lncRNAs were signifcantly diferent among the varied leaf shapes studied. Using co-expression analysis and according to the principle of competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA), we found that 28 lncRNAs could regulate the expression of 133 mRNAs by antagonizing 17 miRNAs. These mRNAs are involved in 23 biological functions, such as cell growth, developmental processes, metabolic processes and biological regulation, thereby afecting the formation of P. euphratica heteromorphic leaves. These results provide the foundation to study the formation of P. euphratica heteromorphic leaves, revealing the function of lncRNAs in the development of leaves in plants.

        FRP Flexural Strengthened Concrete Member Design Method of Based on Early-Warning Fuses

        The bearing capacity of members strengthened with prestressed carbon fiber reinforced plastic is improved significantly, however, the ductility of the members strengthened are reduced obviously. Moreover, no sign are observed before the failure and the failure process rapidly. The current study proposed a reinforcement method based on early-warning fuses theory to address this issue and took carbon fiber reinforced plastic as an example. First, it's necessary to determine the area of carbon fiber board and the application of prestressed in each part of the member (early-warning fuses part and load-bearing part). This needs to be determined by the basic safety reserve and the additional safety reserve of the carrying capacity, then the calculation formula are derived; second, designing six simulation beams and four test beams. Based on the comparison of the computation of the derived formula with the simulation and test results, the calculated values of the early-warning load agree well with the simulated and experimental values, and the calculated values of the ultimate load are less than the simulated and experimental values. This showed that the theoretical calculation method has high accuracy. In addition, various evaluation index prove that the members strengthened have sufficient reserves.

        Effects of Grouting Defects in a Duct on the Bonding of Prestressing Strands

        Insufficient grouting has a great effect on the bonding performance of pressing stand for a post-tensioned prestressed concrete beam, which leads to a decrease of beam’s bending capacity. This study focused on the influence of defects of local grouting length and grouting fullness on the prestressing strand’s bond performance. The prestressing strand pull-out test was used to evaluate the bonding performance of pressing stand with different defects of local grouting length and grouting fullness. The results indicate that two forms of grouting defects reduce the bonding properties of a prestressing strand, when the slip of the free end of prestressing strand is 0.12 mm (s = 0.12 mm), the bond stress decreases briefly. To analyze the bonding mechanism of the prepressing strand in duct, the bond stresses τ0 and τu at s = 0.12 mm and s = 25 mm were adopted as the characteristic parameters of bond stress to deduce the calculation formula of the bond strength by fitting the test data. A bond-slip constitutive model of prestressing strand in duct under two classes defects was proposed by improving the modified Eligehausen, Popov and Bertero (BPE) model of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) rebars.
