        부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 자녀의 학업 무기력의 관계 : 자녀의 삶의 만족도와 그릿의 순차적 매개효과 검증

        본 연구는 중학교 1학년을 대상으로 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 자녀의 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서, 삶의 만족도, 그릿의 매개효과를 순차적으로 검증하여 중학생의 학업 무기력 극복을 위한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 분석을 위해 한국아동·청소년패널조사 2018의 1차년도 중학교 1학년 자료를 활용하였으며, 총 2,590명을 대상으로 순차적 매개모형을 적용하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 변수간의 상관관계에서 부모의 양육태도는 삶의 만족도, 그릿과 정적 상관을 나타냈고, 학업 무기력과는 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 삶의 만족도는 그릿과 정적 상관을, 학업 무기력과는 부적 상관을 보였으며, 그릿과 학업 무기력은 부적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 학업 무기력의 관계에서 그릿의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 셋째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 학업 무기력 간의 관계에서 삶의 만족도와 그릿의 순차적 매개효과가 유의하였다. 본 연구결과는 학업 무기력을 겪는 학생들에게 부모의 긍정적 양육태도의 중요성을 강조할 수 있으며, 학업 무기력을 감소시키는 데 도움이 되는 자료로 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between positive parenting attitude and student’s academic helplessness by examining the serial mediators effect of life satisfaction and grit, to present implications for overcoming middle school student’s academic helplessness. For the analysis of the data, first wave of data of the 1st grade of middle school in 2018(N=2,590) of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) was used, this study conducts serial mediators effect model for 2,590 1st grade students of middle school. The results were as follow: First. positive parenting attitude had a positive correlation with life satisfaction and grit, and a negative correlation with academic helplessness. Life satisfaction showed a positive correlation with grit and negative correlation with academic helplessness, and a negative correlation between grit and academic helplessness. Second, grit had a significant mediating effect in the relationship between positive parenting attitude and academic helplessness. Third, positive parenting attitude affected academic helplessness by serial mediating life satisfaction and grit. The result of this study are meaningful in that it can be used as a prior study to help reduce academic helplessness by emphasizing the importance of positive parenting attitude to students experiencing academic helplessness.

      • A Critical Review of Research on LTH and LIH

As English education for young students has received more attention compared with Korean education, educators are getting concerned about the unbalanced education between the subjects of English and Korean. Many experts in the field of language education believe that the subjects' first language plays a more important role in acquiring a second language than many expect. It is about time that the importance of first language in learning a second language be investigated. The study thus attempted to synthesize and evaluate studies that dealt with the relationship between L1 and L2 especially in the area of reading. The question whether second language reading is a language problem or a reading problem has captured attention of second/foreign language reading researchers. Researchers tried to answer this question based on two contradicting hypotheses: the linguistic threshold hypothesis (LTH) and the linguistic interdependency hypothesis (LlH). LTH states that the readers have to possess a certain amount of grammatical/linguistic knowledge in order to engage their first language reading skills. On the other hand, LIH states that reading performance in a second language is largely shared with reading ability in a first language. Studies supporting the LTH, LIH, and both LTH and LIH are discussed and evaluated.

      • Fuzzy Power Factor Control Systems

        A method for obtaining the power energy with high quality is to keep the power factor for a load as close to unity as feasible. In this paper, we present a new method to improve the power factor for a load. The proposed method uses fuzzy control techniques in order to determine how many parallel capacitors are to be connected to the load for the correction of the power factor.

        Social Meanings and Functions of Being Global K-pop Fans

        K-pop이 전 세계를 강타한 현재, K-pop의 성공을 견인한 중요한 요인 가운데 하나인 글로벌 K-pop 팬에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 본 논문은 2018년 하반기 사건 중심 관찰 기록과 관련 미디어 자료 조사에 근거해 ‘K-pop 팬이란 무엇인가’를 탐구한다. 팬 공동체 참여문화 양상을 고찰 해 글로벌 K-pop 팬 정체성 형성의 사회적 의미와 기능을 분석하여 한류 관련 문화 연구에서 탐 구된 중요한 질문들에 답한다. 첫째, 서구 중심의 신자유주의와 세계화를 기반으로 한 문화 전파 방식과는 대조적으로, K-pop은 제 3 세계에서 선진국으로 문화를 전파한 역류 사례로 볼 수 있 다. 이 최초의 역방향 문화는 K-pop 팬들의 자발적인 참여를 통해 형성되었다. 글로벌 대기업 중 심의 문화자본이 전파하는 문화산업에 대항해 K-pop은 새로운 문화 생성과 전파를 주체적으로 담당하는 제 3의 공간을 창출하였다. 연구 결과는 아래로부터의 자발적인 온오프라인 참여 문화 를 통해 ‘글로벌 K-pop 팬들’이라는 새로운 사회적 정체성을 지닌 집단 형성의 함의, 이들이 독창적으로 만들어 낸 전대미문의 새롭고 다양한 문화적 놀이의 사회적 기능 및 이를 통한 한국 대중음악의 전 세계적 전파 방식의 이해를 돕는다. 더 나아가 글로벌 K-pop의 독특한 문화 혼종 성을 기반으로 한 한국인의 집단적인 문화적 정체성을 글로벌 팬들이 자신들이 속한 팬 공동체에 서 새로운 방식으로 접목해 문화적 재전유를 모색하는 양상에 대해 고찰할 수 있다. With K-pop hitting the world, a variety of articles on the Korean wave are pouring out, but research on K-pop fans, one of the key factors driving K-pop's success is lacking. This paper explores what are global K-pop fans on the basis of observation notes and media data centered on events in 2018. It analyzes the social meanings and functions of global K-pop fans with a focus on the participatory culture of the fan communities. The findings indicate global K-pop fans have been empowered and diversified into professionals, social activists, and whistle blowers. Moreover, significant questions explored in cultural studies are answered. First, in contrast to the way in which pop culture spreaded based on the Western-centered neo-liberalism, K-pop is seen as an unprecedented cultural contra flow case of the spread of culture from the Third World to the developed world, and the voluntary participation by K-pop fans made it happen. In addition, K-pop created a third space where fan communities create new culture somewhat resistant to cultural industries by cultural capital centered on global conglomerates. The results of the study help us understand a new social identity of ‘global K-pop fans’ and their social functions in relation to a new variety of cultural play that they have creatively constructed to spread K-pop worldwide. Furthermore, this study points out ways in which fans seek cultural appropriation based on K-pop hybridity by incorporating the unique collective Korean cultural identity into their own fan community culture.

      • IMU-integrated Optical Navigation System for Tracking Multi-agent

        In this paper, an IMU-integrated optical navigation system is presented. In the existing motion capture system, it was necessary to use the geometry of the recognized multiple markers to obtain the attitude of the object. On the other hand, in the proposed system, with only a small number of cameras, real-time output of 6-DOF including position and attitude was enabled by compactly implementing a single infrared marker with embedded IMU and computing board as an agent module. As a result of the development, it was possible to dramatically improve the problem of the existing rigid body-based attitude estimation method in which the attitude estimation error changes according to the distance from the cameras. In addition, according to the wireless time synchronization implementation of the camera and the agent, unique identification and tracking for each of the multiple agents operating in the same system was enabled. Therefore, this system is expected to have a very high potential for use in factory automation (FA) and robotics. In this paper, the principle of this system and each system component are explained.

      • A Study on the Characteristics of Incineration Bottom Ash from MSW in Urban-Rural Complex City

        Along the increases of incineration bottom ashes emitted from the municipal solid waste incinerator, the issues, such as increased treatment costs, environmental problems and lack of land area for incineration treatment facility have raised. Therefore, this study was performed to analyze the incineration bottom ash to seek how to recycle the resources. The particles of bottom ash discharged as municipal solid wastes are not even and composed of inorganic substances such as iron and non-metals; in this study, therefore, the bottom ash are used as the basic data for the purpose of resource recycle. In this study, the waste incineration bottom ash emitted from the incineration treatment facility located in city C were analyzed. About 100 tons of municipal solid waste are incinerated in this facility on a daily basis. The particle size, XRF, TGA and ICP were analyzed for bottom ash. A LA-950(Laser Scattering Particle Size Analyzer) was used to perform a particle size analysis and as a result, the particle diameter of a large range was distributed and the particle diameter was shown to be wide so not evenly distributed. The distribution of particle diameter for each sample was shown to be inconsistent. XRF used an EDX-750 (Shimazu) to analyze the chemical components and as a result, the key components contained in the bottom ash included CO2, CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, B2O3, etc. The analysis revealed that CaO contained to be lower than other area. TGA / DSC 1 / 1600 LF(Mettler-Toledo AG) were used to analyze TGA and the heating rate of 10℃/min was applied up to the maximum temperature 1200℃. As a result, the sample of incineration bottom ash showed its significant reaction at around 700℃. In general, when temperature of bottom ash starts raising, the moisture started to evaporate at around 100℃ while a significant decline is observed in weight. However in this study, no significant change was observed around 100℃ followed by the pre-processed and bottom ash. ICP used 820 ICP-MS (Bruker, Germany) to analyze the heavy metal - As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg and Pb. 3 different bottom ash were divided into 3 samples and as a result, the average concentration of each substance was analyzed as As 0.0049ppm and Cu 0.006ppm, whereas the concentrations of Cd, Cr, Hg and Pb were observed to be less than the quantization limit; therefore, the concentrations of all 6 items were shown to be less than the hazardous level of the specified wastes.

        Iris Recognition Based on a Shift-Invariant Wavelet Transform

        This paper describes a new iris recognition method based on a shift-invariant wavelet sub-images. For the feature representation, we first preprocess an iris image for the compensation of the variation of the iris and for the easy implementation of the wavelet transform. Then, we decompose the preprocessed iris image into multiple subband images using a shift-invariant wavelet transform. For feature representation, we select a set of subband images, which have rich information for the classification of various iris patterns and robust to noises. In order to reduce the size of the feature vector, we quantize.each pixel of subband images using the Lloyd-Max quantization method Each feature element is represented by one of quantization levels, and a set of these feature element is the feature vector. When the quantization is very coarse, the quantized level does not have much information about the image pixel value. Therefore, we define a new similarity measure based on mutual information between two features. With this similarity measure, the size of the feature vector can be reduced without much degradation of performance. Experimentally, we show that the proposed method produced superb performance in iris recognition.
