Nano-sized Yttrium iron garnet (YIG;Y₃Fe?O12) particles have been synthesized by using coprecipitation and a heat treatment process. The YIG particles were made using a nitrate or a chloride salt solution. The pH concentration of the solution was fixed at 12. Spherical shaped YIG particles were made with a size of about 20 ㎚. The magnetization value of the particles was smaller than the bulk value but their coercive field showed a high value.

Security has become one of the most important requirements for various devices for multisensor based embedded systems. The AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm is widely used for security, however, it requires high computing power. In order to reduce the CPU power for the data encryption of images, we propose a new image encryption module using hardware memoization, which can reuse previously generated data. However, as image pixel data are slightly different each other, the reuse rate of the simple memoization system is low. Therefore, we further apply an approximate concept to the memoization system to have a higher reuse rate by sacrificing quality. With the novel technique, the throughput can be highly improved by 23.98% with 14.88% energy savings with image quality loss minimization.

The magnetic and structural properties of FINEMET (the Hitachi product name of the Fe-Si-B-Nb-Cu alloy) nanopowder with a composition of Fe73.5Si13.5B?Nb₃Cu₁ atomic percent were investigated after annealing, chemical etching, and mechanical milling. The primary and secondary crystallization temperatures were 523 and 550 ℃, respectively. The grain size of the particles was adjusted by annealing time. Optimally annealed particles exhibited a homogenous microstructure composed of nanometer-sized crystalline grains. The grain boundary of the annealed particles was etched preferentially by chemical etching. Chemically etched particles were broken at the grain boundary by high-energy ball milling. As a result, a nanometer-sized FINEMET powder with a uniform size of crystalline grains was fabricated.

Habitus and Power: Bourdieu and Foucault
SeongMin Hong 한국비평이론학회 2012 비평과이론 Vol.17 No.2
The aim of this article is to compare the concept of power between Foucault and Bourdieu. Although the notion of power is as central to Bourdieu as it is to Foucault, both of them criticizing previous formulations of power, few of Bourdieu’s commentators have actually been interested in substantiating this connection. This is all the more surprising in that the two authors’ position against Marxism helped them establish a new dimension of power, the former with the concept of ‘symbolic violence,’ the latter with that of ‘biopower.’ Much as studies devoted to Foucault’s notion of biopower powerfully reinforced the crisis of Marxism in the 1980s, the new concept of ‘symbolic violence’ elaborated by Bourdieu deserves our attention today, for the construction of this notion can only be properly understood, according to Bourdieu, through a critique of Foucault’s conception. Foucault’s micro-power, unlike the Bourdieuian micro-sociology of power, is not simply the miniaturization of forms of domination. When Foucault writes of a new micro-physics’ of power, it is a matter of two different levels at once, the microscopic and the macroscopic. In reality they are always linked to one another. By contrast, because the fold of the subject only comes into play in the symbolic conflict of society for Bourdieu, a change in the construction of the self is only possible by considering relations of domination and non-domination. This is why I have judged that the Bourdieuian mode of domination is inscribed in the Marxist tradition.
