        The distributed species and number of viable microorganisms in drinking water were monitored according to water dispenser maintenance. our purpose was to investigate the distribution of bacteria in drinking water dispenser. To analyze possible dispenser contaminations sampling were performed from 14 locations in Namseoul University for 3 months from March to May, 2010. The isolated bacteria were identified by Gram stain and biochemical test using VITEKⅡ systems. The microorganism concentrations around the water discharge areas were measured and the average of total microorganisms was determined. The number of bacteria were measured by McFarland turbidity. The water and water discharge areas were separated and identified. The isolation rates of Gram positive cocci and Gram negative bacilli were 56.5%, 17.4% respectively. The frequently isolated bacteria were Staphylococcus epidermidis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterbacter sakazakii, Alcaligenes faecalis, Acinetobacter baumannii, Staphylococcus hominis, respectively. Further systematic studies are necessary with an emphasis on species identification. Key Words : Microorganisms, Water Discharge Areas, Drinking Water, McFarland

      • 교내 실내 공기에서 부유 미생물의 분포

        The pathogenic and non-pathogenic microorganism have been isolated from the indoor airborne, the closest environment of human beings. Our purpose were to investigate the distribution of fungi and bacteria in indoor airborne sampled from 7 locations in Namseoul University for 2 months from September to October, 2010. The isolated bacteria were identified by Gram stain and biochemical test using VITEKTM system, also The fungus were identified by LPCB. The experiment on microorganism concentration of indoor air carried out and the average of total microorganism was measured. When airborne bacteria were isolated and identified. The isolation rates of Gram positive cocci, Gram positive bacilli, Gram negative bacilli, and Gram negative cocci were 38.3%, 22.4%, 2.7%, 0%, respectively. In Gram positive cocci, the most strains were identified as Micrococcus spp. In Gram positive bacilli, the most strains were identified as Bacillus spp. The frequently isolated fungi were Aspergillus sp, Penicillium sp, Alternaria sp, Rhizopus sp, Mucor sp. respectively.         Fibrin-Reinforced Collagen Matrix Enhances Tissue Regeneration and Angiogenesis

        <P>The goal of this study was to investigate effects of fibrin reinforcement of collagen sponges on fibroblasts-mediated contraction and in vivo tissue regeneration, especially angiogenesis. Human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs)-populated collagen sponges reinforced with or without fibrin were cultivated via the free-floating method in vitro. They were then evaluated using xenogeneic implantation into nude mice. The HDFs-populated collagen sponges reinforced with fibrin exhibited significantly decreased HDFs-mediated contraction in vitro (p<0.05). Microvascular and cellular densities of the collagen sponges were significantly higher with fibrin than without (p<0.01). Cell ingrowths, neovascularization, and deposition of ECM matrix were more evenly distributed in the fibrin-reinforced collagen matrices. The results demonstrated that fibrin reinforcement of porous collagen sponges can reduce cell-mediated contraction in vitro while enhancing functional integration with surrounding tissue in vivo.</P>

      • A Computational Study of Estimating Aero-Optic Boresight Error for a Hypersonic Flight Vehicle

        Aero-optic phenomena cause the image position displacement on an imaging plane of the airborne optical/IR systems. Particularly, the aero-optic boresight error (BSE) is important factor for homing, positioning and aiming applications of hypersonic flight vehicle. In this paper, an estimating method of aero-optic BSE for a hypersonic flight vehicle is studied. A ray tracing method and a transform method of the flow density field and the refractive index are combined with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method.

      • Advanced Speed Control for a Five-Leg Inverter Driving a Dual-Induction Motor System

        <P>This paper proposes advanced speed control for a five-leg voltage source inverter (FLVSI) that drives the dual three-phase induction motor system used in industrial manufacturing processes. The advanced speed control method consists of two controllers: 1) The first is a slip controller that satisfies the application requirement, i.e., to control the mechanical speed of two motors equally regardless of the load condition. 2) The second is an angle controller that satisfies the FLVSI requirement, i.e., to control the phase angle difference between the two motors for minimizing the common leg current because the common leg current can be twice higher than other leg's current depending on the operation condition of the dual motor. Stability analysis of the two controllers under advanced speed control is implemented, and the whole performance of the advanced speed control for the FLVSI-fed dual-motor drive system is shown to identify its feasibility through the experimental results.</P>

      • Phosphorus Intake is Related with Obesity: Based on 2013 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

        Dietary phosphorus consumption has risen steadily in Korea. Recent study suggest phosphorus intake is associated with obesity. We examined the association between phosphorus intake and obesity. This study included 4,635 adults(≥19) who participated in the Koran National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES), 2013. The intake of dietary phosphorus was obtained estimated by a 24 hour dietary recall method and divided into three categories. We examined the association between dietary phosphorus and obesity(BMI of≥25) and abdominal obesity(Waist circumference: Men ≥ 90 cm, Women ≥ 85 cm) Mean estimated dietary phosphorus intake was 909 mg/d in men and 719 mg/d in women. The prevalence of obesity was 43.3% in men and 33.2% in women. The prevalence of abdominal obesity was 23.3% in men and 20.3% in women. The multivariate-adjusted odds ratio(OR) for abdominal obesity with highest dietary phosphorus intake group compared with the lowest intake group was 3.17(95% confidence interval(CI), 1.65-8.36) in 40-49 years men. But dietary phosphorus intake was inversely associate with abdominal obesity(OR:0.48, CI: 0.25-0.91) in 50-64 years women. Our results indicates that high phosphorus was associated with obesity in relation to age, sex. These associations require confirmation in other studies.

        Enhanced Biological and Mechanical Properties of Artificial Dermis Prepared Using a Perfusion Culture System

        <P>A culture system that is capable of providing even and uniform distribution and deposition of cells and extracellular matrix (ECM) is desired to enhance biological functions of the tissue-engineered artificial dermis (TEADs). For this purpose, we have developed a perfusion culture system that offers uniform exchange of nutrients and gases along the scaffold. Viability and effectiveness of the system were investigated by comparing biological and mechanical properties of TEADs. Results showed that the TEADs constructed by the perfusion culture system revealed significantly increased cell growth, ECM synthesis, and elastic modulus compared to those by the conventional static culture system. In addition, histological findings indicated that cells were more evenly distributed and ECM deposition increased in TEADs with the perfusion culture system. Therefore, it can be suggested that the perfusion culture system can constitute a more promising approach for constructing the TEADs.</P>

      • 초공동 무기체계 현황 및 개발동향

        초공동 현상은 수중운동체의 빠른 주행속도로 몸체 전체가 기포에 싸이게 하는 현상을 말하는데, 이는 수중운동체가 기포에 감싸이므로 몸체에 미치는 항력이 크게 감소되기 때문이다. 이 초공동화 기술을 적용하면 기존 동류의 수중운동체에 비해 그리 크지 않은 에너지로도 큰 속도를 낼 수 있으며, 여러 수중 무기체계에 적용 시 획기적인 성능향상을 가져올 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 세계 각국에서 초공동화 기술을 적용하여 개발하고 있는 다양한 무기체계들에 대해 개략적으로 기술하였다. Supercavitation is an extreme cavitation which can be used to make an underwater vehicle like a torpedo be encompassed by a gas bubble and travel so fast that any enemy object detected can not escape from the chasing vehicle. The gas bubble around the vehicle can greatly reduce the skin friction drag and the supercavitating vehicle can fly in the bubble at surprisingly high speeds compared to any similar conventional vehicle, using not much energy to achieve such high speeds. The supercavitation technologies will enable great advancements to underwater weapon systems. In this study, Overview and development trends of various supercavitating weapon systems in the world are described.
