Thday's firms exist and run business in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment in terms of industry, market, technology, ecnomic conditions, and culture. To be competitive, at least to survive, firms must cope with and manage uncertainty effectively. In other words, firms shoule be equipped with powerful weapons to capture competitive advantage over their competitors. This paper introduced a relatively new concept "Information Warehouse" as a competitive weapon. The following issues are discussed: ·The concept and definition of information warehouse. ·The necessity of information warehouse. ·The architenture of information wareghouse. ·The benefits and limitations of information warehouse. ·The relationship with the DSS. ·Further research areas related to information warehouse.
Photothermal Inhibition of Neural Activity with Near-Infrared-Sensitive Nanotransducers

<P>A neural stimulation technique that can inhibit neural activity reversibly and directly without genetic modification is valuable for understating complex brain functions and treating brain diseases. Here, we propose a near-infrared (NIR)-activatable nanoplasmonic technique that can inhibit the electrical activity of neurons by utilizing gold nanorods (GNRs) as photothermal transducers on cellular membranes. The GNRs were bound onto the plasma membrane of neurons and irradiated with NIR light to induce GNR-mediated photothermal heating near the membrane. The electrical activity from the cultured neuronal networks pretreated with GNRs was immediately inhibited upon NIR irradiation, and fully restored when NIR light was removed. The degree of inhibition could be precisely modulated by tuning the laser intensity, thereby enabling restoration of firing of a hyperactive neuronal network with epileptiform activity. This nanotechnological approach to inhibit neural activity provides a powerful therapeutic platform to control cellular functions associated with disordered neural circuits.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/ancac3/2014/ancac3.2014.8.issue-8/nn5020775/production/images/medium/nn-2014-020775_0006.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/nn5020775'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
Electro-optical Neural Platform Integrated with Nanoplasmonic Inhibition Interface
Yoo, Sangjin,Kim, Raeyoung,Park, Ji-Ho,Nam, Yoonkey American Chemical Society 2016 ACS NANO Vol.10 No.4
<P>Engineering of neural interfaces with rianomaterials for remote manipulation facilitates the development of platforms for the study and treatment of brain disorders, yet extending their capability to inhibiting the electrical activities of unmodified neurons has been difficult. Here we report the development of an electro-optical neural platform integrated with gold nanorods for simultaneous electrical excitation and readout, and photothermal inhibition of neural activities. A monolayer of gold nanorods was placed at the electrode neuron interfaces of a microelectrode array for photothermal stimulation of neural activities. This nanoplasmonic interface interacted well with neurons and metal electrodes without affecting the biological and electrical properties. We demonstrated that spontaneous firing of neurons and their signal propagation along the neurites evoked by electrical stimulation were optically inhibited on this neural platform. We believe that our platform could be an alternative to the optogenetic approach and may ultimately be applied to prosthetic devices based on optical neuromodulation.</P>
The People Navigator : 새로운 협동 Chatting 애플리케이션 A New Collaboration Chatting Application

We often feel the necessity to communicate with members involved in a project to remote discuss business activities, needs for the fast file transfer, and check the existence of members to talk with. There are some commercial applications in these problems. However, in addition to those existing functions, this study focuses especially on adding couple of functions such as automatic responding function, in which a sender of a message automatically knows if a receiver checks the message. Its application is that a project leader sends an important message and later on can check at his desk the fact that who have checked their messages. The prototype application, build in this study, will check the correctness of every sub-function, and then the interface of inter-sub-functions, finally the integrity of the entire system, so that important information will not be lost among members of a project in the real world situation.
