Choi,Seong-Kyu,Yun,Kyeong-won,Chon,Sang-Uk,Lee,Jong-Ill,Seo,Young-Nam,Seo,Kyoung-Sun,Choi,Kyeong-Ju 한국자원식물학회 2004 Plant Resources Vol.7 No.3
This study was conducted to develop effective production system in greenhouse for leaves and stems of Angelica acutiloba by using connect pots in 2003 and 2004. Seed germination rate and plant biomass of Angelica acutiloba collected in 2004 were higher than those harvested in 2003. Germination rate of Angelica acutiloba seeds collected in 2003 was 10%, while germination rate of seeds collected in 2004 was above 90%. Especially, plant growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba grown in connect pots sized with 4×4×5cm(length×width×height) were the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Angelica acutiloba can be improved by using connect pots and optimizing seed collecting time in greenhouse.
Effect of Storage Condition on Yield and Quality of Angelica acutiloba Radix
Choi,Seong-kyu,Yun,Kyeong-Won,Chon,Sang-Uk,Seo,Young-nam 한국자원식물학회 2002 Plant Resources Vol.5 No.1
To develop an optimal storage method of root of Angelica acutiloba Radix, which has been grown as major herbal medicine material to be cultivated, root of Angelica acutiloba Radix, was stored for 10 months with different packing materials and sealing methods. The loss in dry weight as influenced by packing materials and sealing methods was the lowest at vacuum packing and followed by complete sealing methods with transparent polyethylene film. The ratio of root rot during the storage period was not significantly different between packing materials but was significantly different between sealing conditions. In conclusion, vacuum packing and complete sealing with polyethylene film appears to be most optimal for storage of Angelica acutiloba Radix.
Study on Leaf Production of Angelica acutiloba by Mulching with Polyethylene Film
Choi,Seong-Kyu,Yun,Kyeong-Won,Chon,Sang-Uk,Seo,Young-Nam,Seo,Kyoung-sun,Kwon,Byung-Sun 한국자원식물학회 2003 Plant Resources Vol.6 No.3
This study was conducted to produce effectively more leaves of Angelica acutiloba through year-round production system by using various mulching materials and polyethylene(PE) tunnel. Soil temperature by covering treatment was higher in PE mulching and PE tunnel than in rice straw mulching, especially showing the highest temperature in PE tunnel from April through May. Water content of soil was higher in PE mulching than in non-mulching. Leaf production of Angelica acutiloba through year-round production showed the highest in PE tunnel and root production in PE mulching. These results suggest that leaf production of Angelica acutiloba can be maximized through PE tunnel cultivation system.

<P> Mepivacaine is an aminoamide-linked local anesthetic with an intermediate duration that intrinsically produces vasoconstriction both in vivo and in vitro. The aims of this in-vitro study were to examine the direct effect of mepivacaine in isolated rat aortic rings and to determine the associated cellular mechanism with a particular focus on endothelium-derived vasodilators, which modulate vascular tone. In the aortic rings with or without endothelium, cumulative mepivacaine concentration-response curves were generated in the presence or absence of the following antagonists: Nω-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester [l-NAME], indomethacin, fluconazole, methylene blue, 1H-[1,2,4]oxadiazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalin-1-one [ODQ], verapamil, and calcium-free Krebs solution. Mepivacaine produced vasoconstriction at low concentrations (1 × 10−3 and 3 × 10−3 mol/L) followed by vasodilation at a high concentration (1 × 10−2 mol/L). The mepivacaine-induced contraction was higher in endothelium-denuded aortae than in endothelium-intact aortae. Pretreatment with l-NAME, ODQ, and methylene blue enhanced mepivacaine-induced contraction in the endothelium-intact rings, whereas fluconazole had no effect. Indomethacin slightly attenuated mepivacaine-induced contraction, whereas verapamil and calcium-free Krebs solution more strongly attenuated this contraction. The vasoconstriction induced by mepivacaine is attenuated mainly by the endothelial nitric oxide - cyclic guanosine monophosphate pathway. In addition, mepivacaine-induced contraction involves cyclooxygenase pathway activation and extracellular calcium influx via voltage-operated calcium channels. </P>

Kyeong-Deok Kim,Zisun Kim,Jung Cheol Kuk,Jaehong Jeong,Kyu Sung Choi,Sung Mo Hur,Gui Ae Jeong,Jun Chul Chung,Gyu Seok Cho,Eung Jin Shin,Hyung Chul Kim,Sang-Gue Kang,Min Hyuk Lee,Cheol Wan Lim 대한외과학회 2016 Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research(ASRT) Vol.90 No.3
Purpose: The goal of oncoplastic breast surgery is to restore the appearance of the breast and improve patient satisfaction. Thus, the assessment of cosmetic results and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) using appropriately constructed and validated instruments is essential. The aim of the present study was to assess the long-term objective cosmetic results and corresponding PROs after oncoplastic breast surgery. Methods: Cosmetic results were assessed by the patients, a medical panel, and a computer program (BCCT.core). PROs were assessed using BREAST-Q, a questionnaire that measures the perception of patients having breast surgery. The cosmetic results and PROs were analyzed in patients who underwent quadrantectomy and partial breast reconstruction utilizing the latissimus dorsi flap. Results: The mean duration of the follow-up period was 91.6 months (range, 33.3–171.0 months), and mean age of the patients was 51 years old (range, 33–72 years). The mean tumor size was 2.1 cm (range, 0.9–5.5 cm). There was fair agreement between the medical panel and BCCT.core score (K = 0.32, P < 0.001), and a statistically significant correlation between the BCCT.core score and medical panel cosmetic results was identified (r = 0.606, P < 0.001). A better BCCT.core result was related to a higher PRO of each BREAST-Q domain—satisfaction with breasts (R2 = 0.070, P = 0.039), satisfaction with outcome (R2 = 0.087, P = 0.021), psychosocial well-being (R2 = 0.085, P = 0.023), sexual well-being (R2 = 0.082, P = 0.029), and satisfaction with information (R2 = 0.064, P = 0.049). Conclusion: Our long-term results of oncoplastic surgery achieved a high level of patient satisfaction with good cosmetic results. The medical panel and BCCT.core results correlated well with the PROs of the patients using valid, reliable, and procedure-specific measures.
