최재영 ( Jae Young Choi1 ),차재빈 ( Jae Bin Cha1 ),김상만 ( Sang Man Kim ) 경희대학교 경영연구원 2013 의료경영학연구 Vol.7 No.1
This study examined the influence of various factors of RFID use in mobile RFID environment, focusing on pharmacies` RFID systems. The purpose of the study was to verify the possibility of a more widespread use of RFID and mobile RFID in medical industry by exploring what impact RIFD use factors have on the intention to use in RFID environment. The subjects were pharmacists who have their own pharmacies in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Of 400 questionnaires distributed to the respondents, 392 were used in the final analysis except 8 with insufficient answers. The empirical analysis results showed that perceived security, perceived cost, and social influence had significant impacts on trust, while social influence and perceived cost had significant impacts on perceived risk. Among RFID use factors, social influence, perceived security, and perceived risk had significant impacts on intention to use in mobile RFID environment. Trust and perceived cost did not have a significant impact. The summary of analysis results, implications, and limitations are presented in the conclusion.

<P>Herein, gas-phase polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) as nonpolar compounds were ionized to protonated molecular ions [M + H]+ without radical cations and simultaneously analyzed using gas chromatography (GC)/electrospray ionization (ESI)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). The ionization profile, dissociation, and sensitivity were first investigated to understand the significant behavior of gas-phase PAHs under ESI. The formation of protonated molecular ions of PAHs was distinguished according to the analyte phase and ESI spray solvents. The protonated PAHs exhibited characteristic dissociations, such as H-loss, H2-loss, and acetylene-loss, via competition of internal energy. In addition, GC/ESI-MS/MS resulted in relatively lower concentration levels (better sensitivity) for the limits-of-detection (LODs) of PAHs than liquid chromatography (LC)/ESI-MS/MS, and it seems to result from the characteristic ionization mechanism of the gas-phase analyte under ESI. Furthermore, the LODs of gas-phase PAHs depended on molecular weight and proton affinity (PA). Consequently, we demonstrated the relationship among the analyte phases, sensitivities, and structural characteristics (molecular weight and PA) under ESI. The gas-phase PAHs provided enhanced protonation efficiency and sensitivity using GC/ESI-MS/MS, as their molecular weight and PA increased. Based on these results, we offered important information regarding the behavior of gas-phase analytes under ESI. Therefore, the present GC/ESI-MS/MS method has potential as an alternative method for simultaneous analysis of PAHs.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Mycobacterium bovis Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) and BCG-based Vaccines Against Tuberculosis
Cha, Seung Bin,Shin, Sung Jae 대한미생물학회 2014 Journal of Bacteriology and Virology Vol.44 No.3
Tuberculosis (TB) is the second leading infectious cause of mortality worldwide with about two million deaths per year. The only licensed TB vaccine, Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) shows limited protection efficacy suggesting an improved vaccination strategy is required. Recently, several TB vaccine candidates have entered clinical trials. These vaccine candidates are live mycobacterial vaccines designed to replace BCG or subunit vaccines designed to boost immunity induced by BCG. Vaccines with different strategy such as therapeutic vaccines, which can also be used in combination with drug therapy, are in the early stages of development to resolve latent TB or reactivation from the latent state. In this review, we discuss about development of BCG and BCG-based vaccines and further studies necessary for novel TB vaccine development to sterilize tuberculosis.

The antioxidative activities of water-soluble extracts from leaves of Morus alba (MA) and Cudrania tricuspidata (CT) on the lipid peroxidation of rat tissues were studied in vivo system by measuring the formation of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Male Sprague-Dawley rats received either a control diet (hypercholesterolemic diet) or hypercholesterolemic diets supplemented with 1% MA or CT for 2 wk. Body weight gain, food intakes, and relative weights of heart and spleen in rats were not significantly different among dietary groups. Relative weights of brain and liver in rats were higher in the MA diet than that in the CT and the control diets. The concentration of TBARS in kidney homogenates was significantly lower in the MA diet than that in the control diet, while this effect was not observed between the CT diet and the control diet. The concentrations of TBARS in brain and heart homogenates were significantly higher in the CT diet than that in the control and the MA diets. The concentrations of TBARS in liver microsomes induced with Fe^(2+)/ascorbate for 1 hr at 37℃ was effectively suppressed in the MA and CT diets compared with the control diet. These results suggest that the water-soluble extract from leaves of Morus alba inhibited lipid peroxidative formation in kidney and hepatic microsomes of cholesterol-fed rat.

Cha, Hyun Ji,Kim, Beom Seok,Lee, Ye Ji,Kim, Hyo Bin,Sung, Ki Jung,Lee, Young Rok,Kim, Jin Youp,Kim, Eun Seok,Jeon, Ju Hyun,Kim, Young Il Korean AcupunctureMoxibustion Medicine Society 2021 대한침구의학회지 Vol.38 No.2
A patient diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) suffering from numbness in the toes and fingers, paralysis in the face, and back pain received intravenous immunoglobulin on December 28, 2019. Without an improvement in symptoms the patient was admitted to a Korean medicine hospital on January 1, 2020 to receive combined Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine (Sipjeondaebo-tanggami and Hyangbujasunkipalmul-tang), acupuncture treatment, moxibustion, cupping treatment, and physical therapy. Treatment was administered over 51 days, of which 17 days were during hospitalization. Paralysis of facial muscle, and numbness in fingers and toes were evaluated using the Yanagihara score and numeric rating scale (NRS) score, respectively. Facial paralysis improved (21 to 40 based on Yanagihara score) and paresthesia of the hands and feet disappeared (NRS score 6-7 to NRS score 0). There were no side effects or sequela. This study suggested combined Korean medicine treatment may be effective for the treatment of GBS.
Characterization of Echinostoma cinetorchis endoribonuclease, RNase H
Sung-Bin Lim,Seok Ho Cha,Seung Jegal,Hojong Jun,Seo Hye Park,Bo-Young Jeon,Jhang Ho Pak,Young Yil Bakh,Tong-Soo Kim,Hyeong-Woo Lee 대한기생충학열대의학회 2017 The Korean Journal of Parasitology Vol.55 No.4
Echinostoma cinetorchis is an oriental intestinal fluke causing significant pathological damage to the small intestine. The aim of this study was to determine a full-length cDNA sequence of E. cinetorchis endoribonuclease (RNase H; EcRNH) and to elucidate its molecular biological characters. EcRNH consisted of 308 amino acids and showed low similarity to endoribonucleases of other parasites (<40%). EcRNH had an active site centered on a putative DDEED motif instead of DEDD conserved in other species. A recombinant EcRNH produced as a soluble form in Escherichia coli showed enzymatic activity to cleave the 3-O-P bond of RNA in a DNA-RNA duplex, producing 3-hydroxyl and 5-phosphate. These findings may contribute to develop antisense oligonucleotides which could damage echinostomes and other flukes.
