Accessions of pepper germplasm were planted in the field and their characteristics were recorded. Lines introduced from Hungary were very susceptible to virus diseases and as a result poor in adaptability in domestic field condition. KC350 and KC351 which were introduced from Brazil were growing errectly and tolerant to both bacterial spot and virus diseases. KC376, an introduction from China, was bearing large fruits with tolerance to virus. Introductions from Thailand were grown and evaluated in Andong Universiy, and major characters of them were recorded.

Lee, Byoung-Sun,Jung, Won-Chan,Lee, Sang-Uk,Lee, Jeom-Hun,Kim, Jae-Hoon 통신위성우주산업연구회 2006 Joint Conference on Satellite Communications Vol.2006 No.-
As a multi-mission GEO satellite, COMS system is being developed jointly by KARl, ETRI, KORDI, KMA, and industries from both abroad and domestic. EADS ASTRIUM is the prime contractor for manufacturing the COMS. ETRI is developing the COMS Ka-band payload and SGCS with the fund from MIC. COMS Satellite Ground Control System (SGCS) will be the only system for monitor and control of the satellite in orbit. In order to fulfill the mission operations of the three payloads and spacecraft bus, COMS SGCS performs telemetry reception and processing, satellite tracking and ranging, command generation and transmission, satellite mission planning, flight dynamics operations, and satellite simulation. By the proper functional allocations, COMS SGCS is divided into five subsystems such as TTC, ROS, MPS, FDS, and CSS. In this paper, functional design of the COMS SGCS is described as five subsystems and the interfaces among the subsystems.
Evaluation of Iron and Zinc Content in Rice Germplasms
Jeom-Ho Lee,Kyu-Seong Lee,Hung-Goo Hwang,Chang-Ihn Yang,Sang-Bok Lee,Young-Hwan Choi,O-Young Jeong,Parminder Virk 한국육종학회 2008 한국육종학회지 Vol.40 No.2
The germplasm of 246 rice cultivars was analysed for iron and zinc contents using a Inductively Coupled Argon Plasma (ICP) at International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Philippines. Iron contents ranged from 2.0 to 12.0, and zinc ranged from 10.0 to 33.0 (mg/kg), showing with the mean values of 4.3 and 22.8 (mg/kg), respectively. In genotypes tested, there was approximately a two-fold difference in iron and zinc concentrations, suggesting a genetic potential to increase these micronutrients in rice grain. A highly significant positive correlation (r2=0.503) was found between iron and zinc contents. Iron contents decreased drastically as polishing time increased, whereas zinc decreased only slightly. In the interaction between genotype and environment on iron contents, genotype (G), environment (E), and the G × E interactions accounted for 69%, 5% and 26% of the sums of squares, respectively. Indicating that genotype is would be the most significant factor for the to improve iron contents of rice in rice breeding, suggesting that therefore identifying genotypes with relatively stable performance across various environments is important as staple food crops.
Transcriptional regulation of cathelicidin genes in chicken bone marrow cells
Lee, Sang In,Jang, Hyun June,Jeon, Mi-hyang,Lee, Mi Ock,Kim, Jeom Sun,Jeon, Ik-Soo,Byun, Sung June Elsevier 2016 Poultry science Vol.95 No.4

Cathelicidins form a family of vertebratespecific immune molecules with an evolutionarily conserved gene structure. We analyzed the expression patterns of cathelicidin genes (CAMP, CATH3, and CATHB1) in chicken bone marrow cells (BMCs) and chicken embryonic fibroblasts (CEFs). We found that CAMP and CATHB1 were significantly up-regulated in BMCs, whereas the expression of CATH3 did not differ significantly between BMCs and CEFs. To study the mechanism underlying the up-regulation of cathelicidin genes in BMCs, we predicted the transcription factors (TFs) that bind to the 5'-flanking regions of cathelicidin genes. CEBPA, EBF1, HES1, MSX1, and ZIC3 were up-regulated in BMCs compared to CEFs. Subsequently, when a siRNA-mediated knockdown assay was performed for MSX1, the expression of CAMP and CATHB1 was decreased in BMCs. We also showed that the transcriptional activity of the CAMP promoter was decreased by mutation of the MSX1-binding sites present within the 5'-flanking region of CAMP. These results increase our understanding of the regulatory mechanisms controlling cathelicidin genes in BMCs.
