      • Impact of Interferon-Based Treatment on Quality of Life and Work Related Productivity from the Korean Cohort in the MOSAIC Study

        Aims: Chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection increases the risk for progressive liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma and negatively impacts the patient’s quality of life. HCV treatment is evolving with direct acting antivirals but IFN based therapy has been the standard of care for many years and remains available in some countries. The MOSAIC study aims to characterize patients with chronic HCV infection and assess the impact of IFN-containing treatment on health-related quality of life, work related productivity and health care utilization. Methods: MOSAIC is an international prospective multicenter observational study that has been conducted in 20 countries. Consecutive patients with chronic HCV infection were enrolled and those who initiated an IFN based regimen were prospectively followed for 48 weeks. We report results from the Korean cohort Results: 100 patients were enrolled: 86 were treatment naïve and 14 were treatment experienced. 33 patients initiated an IFN based regimen: 6 patients started IFN + RBV, 26 patients started Peg-IFN + RBV, none started Peg-IFN + RBV + DAA and 1 patient received other treatment. Among the treated cohort, demographic and disease characteristics were the following: the mean age was 54.5 years; 14 patients were male. 14 had minimal or no fibrosis, 2 portal fibrosis, 3 bridging fibrosis and 6 patients suffered from cirrhosis. HCV Genotype distribution was as follows: genotype 1: 11; genotype 2: 19 and genotype 3: 3. Table 1 describes the results at baseline and changes over 4, 12 and 48 weeks and end-of-treatment (EOT) for the quality of life and work productivity outcome measures (EQ-5D-5L, HCV-PRO and WPAI). Conclusions: Results from the Korean cohort of the MOSAIC study show a moderate trend for deterioration of health-related quality of life and work productivity associated with IFN based treatment for patients with chronic HCV infection during treatment period.         To investigate the conformation of ATP and ATPi- the conformational total energies were calculated using an empirical potential function by varing all the Independent degree of freedom of them backbone. The empirical potential function was composed of electrostatic, polarization, nonbonding, torsion and hydrogen bond potential. For ATP and ATP- state, conformational total energies are -192.03 Kcal/mole and -176.20kca1/mo1e.

        불교의 무아사상의 정신치료적 의의

        This article was conducted to understand the Buddhist doctrine of 'not-self (無我 ; anatta) in respect of psychotherapy. The author reviewed the earliest Buddhist canons (Nikayas) and extracted the thoughts of 'not-self'. The Buddhist self (or ego) is not equal to the recent psycological self (or ego). It is rather the systemic being than the single one, which is composed of 5 aggregates (五蘊). 'Anatta' does not mean 'no self' but 'not-self'. Buddha regards that self or ego is not real but conceptual. The Buddhist doctrine of 'anatta' is based upon the theory of the dependent origination (緣起 ; paticcasamuppada). Buddhism and psychotherapy consent that one could be emancipated from sufferings not by belief, but by introspection. Just as the emotional insight may lead to the change of behavior and personality in psychotherapy, so the true insight to Enlightenment in Buddhism. The psychotherapeutic significance of 'not-self' implies both the recognition and extinction of the conscious and the unconscious adherence. Therefore psychotherapeutic analysis can be introduced into Buddhism and the meditative contemplation of 'paticcasamuppada' can be adopted by psychotherapy.

      • 시스-트란스 스틸벤의 분자내 퍼텐셜 장벽과 구조연구 : DFT-연구

        시스-트란스 스틸벤에 관해 분자구조, 분자내 퍼텐셜 장벽, 및 쌍극자 능률 등을 연구했다. 계산된 분자는 2,4-di(2-히드록시에톡시)-4-니트로스틸벤(3,4-DNS)와 2,5-(2-히드록시에톡시-4-니트로스틸벤(2,5-DNS) 구조이다. 분자 내 퍼텐셜 장벽, 쌍극자능률은 B3LYP/6-31G*와 B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p)로 계산했다. 시스와 트란스스틸벤 유도체와 역학적 함수도 계산했다. 계산된 시스-스틸벤 구조는 평면구조이고, 트란스-스틸벤 구조는 자전거 페달과 같은 운동 구조이다. T1형태에서 계산된 분자내 퍼텐셜장벽은 -0.01㎉/㏖, T2형태에서는 -0.54㎉/㏖이다. 이것은 자전거 페달과 같은 운동이 트란스 구조보다 더 안전함을 의미한다. 시스-스틸벤의 퍼텐셜 장벽은 -16.77㎉/㏖로 시스-2,4DNS에 대응하는 C1형태는 시스-3,4-DNS에 대응하는 C2에 비해 -6.13㎉/㏖이다. 시스-2,5-DNS에 대응하는 C3형태에 대해서 -17.60㎉/㏖이며, 시스형태는 입체적 장애 효과 때문에 더 안정하다. T2의 쌍극자는 10.34 Debye로서 계산된 분자형태 가운데 가장 크다. 반면에 C3의 쌍극자 능률은 4.75 Debye로서 가장 작다.

        Shoreline area as part of the coastal zone is a region of transition between the land and the sea. Such major activities as urban development, recreation and fishing are heavily taking place in the shoreline area of Cheju with increasing intensity. They may affect the shoreline area with different consequences for the future course of Cheju development. Similarly, shellfishing, shipping and pollution also may influence the shoreline area's usage. Finally, there are numerous activities within the area itself such as the development of large resort complex, reclamation and the enclosure of private premises along shoreline from access to the general public. The Province of Cheju as an island has to give great attention to the uses of shoreline area and coastal zone in general where many conflicting activities are underway in sporadic manner. In the course of Cheju development, developmental activities including the distribution of population tend to move from inland to shoreline area to take advantages of water resource and easy accessibility to the coastal ring road. Urban expansion like frog- leaping development of Shin Cheju mainly took place in the coastal area. Major urban districts have been designated beyond immediate needs for urban growth, resulting in the alteration and encroachment of most scenic shoreline area which must be great asset for the future development of Cheju. While legal and administrative provisions for the preservation or conservation of shoreline. area are not f·ell prepared to withstand increasing development pressure, over-expanded urban districts or urban planning jurisdictions tend to accelerate urban sprawl and to work deterimental to overall management of shoreline area. The reclassification of urban districts has to be made to induce more intensive land use. A new land use and building control system is urgently needed. Shoreline in the Province of Cheju is becoming less accessible to the public due to land ownership, natural terrain and cliff or other factors. Appropriate measures should be introduced to help to remain open to the public and to guide the location of public accesses. The concept of urban design is also introduced in the shoreline area in urban districts in order to find better solution between the preservation of shoreline area and development pressure. The designation of special district in and around harbor and fishing village is highly recommended to preserve vernacular architecture and scenic beauty. The depletion of shellfishing resources and high-value fish for tourist is posing one of most serious economic problems for the economy of shoreline area. Potentials for aquaculture of abalone, lobster, scallop and hard c·lam is known very high in the shoreline area of Cheju. Considerable research and development will be necessary before aquaculture can be materialized into Cheju economy. However. the preservation of possible site for aquaculture is urgently needed in terms of marine pollution mainly originated from inland domestic sewerage, which is also seriously contaminating water resource tapped in t he shoreline area. The State of Hawaii has accumulated great experience in this regard and can surely give immediate lessons for the future development of Cheju. Further collaboration in terms of technical and practical issues of shoreline area management has to be continued.

      • 차세대 셀룰러 시스템을 위한 선형 예측전력제어 방식

        차세대 셀룰러 CDMA 시스템에 적용하는 것을 목표로 한 새로운 선형예측 전력제어 방식을 제안하고, 예측필터를 기지국 내에 내장하여 역방향 링크의 복소 채널 신호를 직접 예측함으로써 기존 방식에 비해 mean square error를 줄이며 호환성 및 적응성면에서도 우위임을 보여준다. 예측전력제어에 사용되는 기존의 비적응 예측필터인 MMSE 필터보다 LS 필터나 RLS 필터가 mean square error를 줄일 수 있음을 보여준다. 특별히 시변 채널 하에서 적응성면 및 성능면을 고려할 때 RLS 필터가 가장 우위임을 보여준다. 예측전력제어 알고리듬에서는 단일 스텝 방식보다 다중 스텝 방식이 필터 추정에러를 줄여주어 전력제어 루프 성능을 개선함을 보여준다. This paper proposes a new linear predictive power control algorithm, being applicable to the next generation cellular CDMA systems, where the prediction filter that is built-into base station directly predicts the complex channel signal via the reverse link in order to reduce mean square error as well as to improve the system compatibility and adaptability. Compared to the existing non-adaptive predictive filter MMSE, LS filter or RLS filter reduce mean square error. Especially, in time-varying channels, RLS improves further over the other non-adaptive or adaptive schemes with respect to the adatability and the system performance. For the predictive power control algorithm the multi-step power control is superior to the single-step power control.

      • Undoped 및 Er-doped ZnGaInS_4 단결정의 성장과 광학적 Energy Gap

        ZnGaInS_4 and ZnGaInS_4:Er^3+ single crystals crystallized in the rhombohedral (hexagonal) structure, with lattice constants a=3.831A˚, c=46.107A˚for ZnGaInS_4, and a=3.862A˚, c=46.283A˚for ZnGaInS_4:Er^3+. The optical absorption measured near the fundamental band edge showed that the optical energy band structure of these compounds had a direct and indirect band gap, the direct and indirect energy gaps are found to be 3.165 and 3.001 eV for ZnGaInS_4, and 2.956 and 2.752eV for ZnGaInS_4:Ef^3+ at 10 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the optical energy gap was well represented by the Varshni equation. The values of α, βof the direct and the indirect energy gap were found to be 9.56x10^-4eV/K, 11.6x10-4eV/K and 353K, 455K for the ZnGaInS_4, and the values of α, βof the direct and the indirect energy gap in the ZnGaInS_4:Er^3+ were given by 9.71x10^-4eV/K, 4.93x10^-4eV/K and 266K, 299K.
