        마이크로 플루이딕 칩을 기반으로 한 크레아티닌 여과장치

        매년마다 신장질환으로 고통 받는 사람들이 증가하는 추세이다. 가장 흔한 치료법 중 하나는 혈액 투석인데, 이 방법은 많은 시간이 걸리고, 비용이 많이 드는 방법이다. 이러한 이유 때문에, 인공신장연구의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 혈액에서 크레아티닌을 여과하는 것은 신장의 주요 기능 중 하나이다. 우리는 이 기능에 초점을 맞춘 새로운 2 채널 마이크로 플루이딕 칩을 고안하였다. 두 개의 PDMS 층을 결합하기 위하여, 아크릴을 가공한 하우징 시스템이 개발하였으며, 이 방법은 여과막을 쉽게 바꿀 수 있다는 이점이 있다. 우리는 알루미늄 양극 산화물(AAO)을 여과막으로 사용하였다. 여과된 용액은 자페반응(Jaffe reation)을 이용하여, 크레아티닌 농도별 흡광도 차이를 분석하였다. 크레아티닌의 양에 대한 표준식을 만들어, 측정한 데이터를 보간하여 여과된 용액의 농도를 확인하였다. 실험을 통하여 유량 및 크레아티닌 농도에 따른 여과율을 얻을 수 있었다. The number of people suffering from renal disease increases every year. One of the most common treatments (clinical care options) for renal diseases is hemodialysis. However it takes a long time and has a high cost. Therefore, the importance of artificial kidney research has risen. Filtering creatinine from blood is one of the prime renal functions. Thus, we designed a novel two channel microfluidic chip focused on that function. In order to bond the individual polydimethylsiloxane layers, we have developed a housing system using acrylic plastic frame. This method has significant advantages in changing filter membranes. We use anodic aluminum oxide for the filter membrane. We analyzed the difference in the absorbance values for various creatinine concentrations using the Jaffe reaction. For the purpose of acquiring a standard equation to quantify the creatinine concentration, we interpolated the measured data and confirmed the concentration of the filtered solution. Through this experiment, we determined how the filtration efficiency depended on the flow rate and creatinine concentration.

        Over-voltage Trigger Device for Marx Generators

        For treatment of plant tissue with pulsed electric fields in large scale, synchronized operation of several Marx generators is required in order to minimize the low-field regions inside the electroporation reactor and to overcome the current limitations of a single pulse circuit. Hence, the Marx generators must be triggered. If long-term operation without service is to be achieved, these generators are triggered by over-volting the first spark gap without the use of an additional electrode for ignition, which would cause increased wear. A trigger device for over-volting the first spark gap of a Marx generator has been designed. It has been tailored to replace the charging coils between the 1s and the 2nd stage of an already existing Marx generator. In order to overcome the requirements for insulation to ground potential, the trigger device is powered by the charging current of the Marx generator. This paper describes some design issues.

        Background: Multiple laboratory tests are used in the diagnosis and management of patients with diabetes mellitus. The quality of the scientific evidence supporting the use of these assays varies substantially. Approach: An expert committee compiled evidencebased recommendations for the use of laboratory analysis in patients with diabetes. A new system was developed to grade the overall quality of the evidence and the strength of the recommendations. A draft of the guidelines was posted on the Internet, and the document was modified in response to comments. The guidelines were reviewed by the joint Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine Committee of the AACC and the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and were accepted after revisions by the Professional Practice Committee and subsequent approval by the Executive Committee of the American Diabetes Association. Content: In addition to the long-standing criteria based on measurement of venous plasma glucose, diabetes can be diagnosed by demonstrating increased hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) concentrations in the blood. Monitoring of glycemic control is performed by the patients measuring their own plasma or blood glucose with meters and by laboratory analysis of Hb A1c. The potential roles of noninvasive glucose monitoring, genetic testing,and measurement of autoantibodies, urine albumin, insulin, proinsulin, C-peptide, and other analytes are addressed. Summary: The guidelines provide specific recommendations based on published data or derived from expert consensus. Several analytes are found to have minimal clinical value at the present time, and measurement of them is not recommended.

        펜싱 선수들의 자율성 욕구 만족에 대한 내러티브 연구

        This study was executed to investigate need satisfaction and need dissatisfaction experiences of fencing players. This study targeted 9 elite fencing players from high schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Daegu areas, a university and a business-sponsored sport team, who belong to the Korea Amateur Fencing Association and consistently enter competitions every year. Consensual qualitative analysis of data was carried out to explore the subjects’ experiences. The consensus team consisted of a professor in sport sociology and a two PhD in sport sociology. The study findings are as follows. First, in relation to the opportunity for participation in fencing, fencing players were satisfied with their autonomy needs. Second, fencing players’ positive autonomy perceptions led to positive experiences during competition and training. In other words, fencing players perceived that they had the rights to select and were responsible for that during competitions and training and this awakened them to autonomy. Third, with regard to fencing players’ negative perceptions, they were experiencing both satisfaction and dissatisfaction. In particular, fencing players endeavored to resolve issues regarding difficult relationships with coach by communicating, or using personal ways.

        선택의 역설 이론을 적용한 AI 신체활동 콘텐츠 제공 빈도와 참여 의사 관계 연구

        This study conducted frequency analysis, descriptive statistic analysis and cross analysis of data collected from 530 normal adults to investigate the intent to participate depending on the levels of AI physical activity contents applying Barry Schwartz’s Paradox of Choice. The study results are as follows. First, 2 to 3 physical activity contents showed a high frequency and there were significant differences in the number of AI physical activity information depending on age and the status of marriage. Second, in terms of the intent to participate depending on physical activity information, there were significant differences in 1 physical activity information, 2 to 3 physical activity information and 4 to 5 physical activity information depending on age. Lastly, there were significant differences in 1 physical activity information, 2 to 3 physical activity information and 5 physical activity information depending on the status of marriage. These results imply that providing 2 to 3 physical activity contents using AI considering levels of individuals, who do not physical activities normally and participate in physical activities that suit themselves would be helpful in participating in physical activities by making them accept relevant information without feeling uncomfortable with information.

        Targeting Three Brain Regions (Bilateral SMA, Left and Right DLPFC) Sequentially in One Session Using Combined Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Intermittent Theta-burst Stimulation in Treatment-refractory Obsessive-compulsive Disorder: A

        Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been widely used as a therapy for refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). However, it remains unclear which exact target and stimulation sequence of rTMS is most effective for OCD. Here, we report the case of an 18-year-old female with treatment-refractory OCD whose symptoms markedly improved after combined rTMS and intermittent theta-burst stimulation over the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and supplementary motor area. Our report indicates that combining treatment sequences that stimulate different brain regions sequentially is feasible and may clinically benefit patients suffering from OCD.

        다면체간의 강건한 민코스키합경계면 계산

        기하학에서 민코스키합은 두 집합에 들어 있는 모든 점들간의 합으로 이루어지는 집합을 구하는 연산으로 정의되는데, 로보틱스, NC 가공, 솔리드 모델링 등의 다양한 분야의 기하학적 문제를 다루는 매우 유용한 이론적 도구로 사용되고 있다. 하지만, 단순한 정의에도 불구하고 수치연산의 반올림 오차로 인하여 다면체간의 민코스키합을 정밀하고 강건하게 계산하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 컨볼루션 계산방법을 이용하여 다면체간의 민코스키합 경계를 계산하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 알고리즘의 강건성을 보장하기 위한 방법으로 CLP(controlled linear perturbation) 기법을 처음으로 적용하였다. CLP는 인위적 교란방법의 하나로 알고리즘의 강건성을 해치는 반올림 오차에 의한 논리적 오류발생을 막는다. 본 논문의 알고리즘은 실험 예제들에서 민코스키합의 경계면을 구성하는 완전한 2차원 다양체 구조메시를 10⁻¹⁴의 정밀도로 출력하고, 이때 입력 다면체의 꼭지점 좌표는 10⁻¹⁰까지 교란되는 결과를 얻었다 Minkowski sum of two polyedra is an operation to compute the sum of all pairs of points contained in the polyhedra. It has been a very useful tool to solve many geometric problems arising in the areas of robotics, NC machining, solid modeling, and so on. However, very few algorithms have been proposed to compute Minkowski sum of polyhedra, because computing Minkowski sum boundaries is susceptible to roundoff errors. We propose an algorithm to robustly compute the Minkowski sum boundaries by employing the controlled linear perturbation scheme to prevent numerically ambiguous and degenerate cases from occurring. According to our experiments, our algorithm computes the Minkowski sum boundaries with the precision of 10⁻¹⁴ by perturbing the vertices of the input polyhedra up to 10⁻¹⁰.
