Risk assessment for clinical attachment loss of periodontal tissue in Korean adults

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence and extent of clinical attachment loss of periodontal tissue and to find out variables related to clinical attachment loss (CAL) in Korean adults older than 40 years of age. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Data were collected from 2,519 subjects who were part of a cohort study conducted in Ansan city by Korea University Medical School for Korean Genome project. Age, sex, smoking, drinking, fast glucose, blood pressure, obesity and total cholesterol levels were examined. The oral examination included probing pocket depth, gingival recession and CAL of Ramford's teeth. The severity of periodontitis was classified based on the mean value of CAL. The relationship between each risk factor and the severity of CAL was independently estimated using the chi-square test, the test or one-way ANOVA. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the significance of each factor in the periodontal disease. RESULTS. The prevalences of clinical attachment between 1 and 3 mm, between 3 and < 5 mm, and ${\geq}$ 5 mm were 80.27%, 16.75% and < 1%, respectively. Although the univariate analysis showed age, gender, smoking, fasting glucose, blood pressure and total cholesterol levels were significantly related to the severity of CAL, multiple regression analysis indicated that age (P < .0001), gender (P < .0001) and smoking (P < .05) were only significantly related. CONCLUSION. Older age, male gender and smoking were significant risk factor for the increase of CAL, and these may be useful indicators of periodontitis high-risk groups.

The present study compared the effectiveness of virtual influencers (VIs) to human influencers through the theoretical lens of the uncanny valley and parasocial relationship using an online experiment. Specifically, we posited that highly humanlike VIs may evoke the feeling of the uncanny valley, as compared to human influencers or cartoonlike influencers, which, in turn, would act as a psychological barrier to building a parasocial relationship with the specific type of virtual influencer and decrease advertising attitude. The results indicated that people do feel the uncanniness from both highly humanlike and cartoonish influencers as compared to human influencers. This particular psychological experience negatively influenced the parasocial relationship, which, in turn, negatively affected the attitude toward a social media advertisement featuring the VIs. However, importantly, this effect was moderated by individual differences in anthropomorphism. This is one of the first studies that directly compared the effectiveness of different types of social media influencers in a rigorously designed experimental setting and expands the previous research on Vis, uncanny valley, and parasocial relationship. Both theoretical and managerial contributions of the study were discussed.

본 논문은 도로상에서 끼어들기 위반 차량을 자동으로 추적하는 효과적인 방법을 설명한다. 이 방법은 이미지 시퀀스를 역방향으로 재생하면서 광류추정을 기본으로 하는 KLT 추적 알고리즘을 적용한다. 어떤 기준이 되는 순간부터 시간의 역방향으로 재생하는 이미지 시퀀스를 사용하여 추적의 정확성을 높이는 것이 본 논문의 중요한 아이디어이다. 기준이 되는 순간은 일반적으로 인식카메라가 번호판을 잘 읽을 수 있는 순간이다. 또한 추적 물체의 가장 큰 이미지를 얻는 시점이기도 하다. 추적하려는 물체의 이미지가 클수록 광류 추정을 위한 추적의 특징점을 더 많이 찾을 수 있으며 특징점이 많으면 추적의 결과도 좋다. 인식카메라로 차량의 번호판을 읽은 다음 끼어들기 위반이 의심되면, 광역을 촬영하는 추적카메라의 동영상에서 이 차량의 역방향 이미지 시퀀스를 추출한다. 본 논문은 추적에 이용하는 일반적인 방법인 정방향 이미지 시퀀스와 본 논문이 제안하는 역방향 영상이미지를 이용한 추적 실험의 결과를 비교하였다. 또한 역방향 이미지 시퀀스를 이용한 본 추적의 알고리즘을 자동단속장비에 적용할 수 있다는 결과를 보여준다. This paper explains effective tracking method for a vehicle cutting in a line on the road automatically. The method employs KLT based on optical flow using play-back image sequence. Main contribution of this paper is play-back image sequence that is in order image frames for rewind direction from a reference point in time. The moment when recognizing camera can read a license plate very well can usually be the reference point in time. The biggest images of object traced can usually be obtained at this moment also. When optic flow is applied, the bigger image of the object traced can be obtained, the more feature points can be obtained. More many feature points bring good result of tracking object. After the recognizing cameras read a license plate on the vehicle suspected of cut-in-line violation, and then the system extracts the play-back image sequence from the tracking cameras for watching wide range. This paper compares using play-back image sequence as normal method for tracking to using play-forward image sequence as suggested method on the results of the experiment and also shows the suggested algorithm has a good performance that can be applied to the unmanned system for watching cut-in-line violation
