경희대학교는 과학임무를 위해 Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (TEPC)와 fluxgate MAGnetometer (MAG)를 탑재한 초소형인공위성 Scientific cubesat with Instruments for Global magnetic field and rAidation (SIGMA)를 개발하였다. Kyung Hee University (KHU) has been develop a CubeSat for the space science mission called Scientific cubesat with Instrument for Global Magnetic field and rAdiation (SIGMA), which installed Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (TEPC) and a magnetometer. SIGMA has a 3U CubeSat, and the weight is about 2.9 ㎏. The primary payload, TEPC, measure the Linear Energy Transfer (LET) spectrum and calculate the equivalent dose for the complicated radiation field in the space. The secondary payload, magnetometer, measures the global magnetic fields. It has 0.1 nT resolution in the dynamic range of ±52000 nT. In this paper, we introduce the system design and the environment test of the SIGMA CubeSat mission.
Robust Unscented Kalman Filter for Nanosat Attitude Estimation
Daero Lee,George Vukovich,Regina Lee 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2017 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.15 No.5
A robust unscented Kalman filter based on a multiplicative quaternion-error approach is proposed fornanosat estimation in the presence of measurement faults. The global attitude parameterization is given by a quaternion, while the local attitude error is defined using a generalized three-dimensional attitude representation. Theproposed algorithm uses a statistical function including measurement residuals to detect measurement faults andthen uses an adaptation scheme based on multiple measurement scale factor for filter robustness against faultymeasurements. The proposed algorithm is demonstrated for the attitude estimation of a nanosat with an on-boardthree-axis magnetometer and rate-integrating gyros in the presence of measurement faults as well as satellite orbiterrors. To compare the estimation performance of the proposed algorithm, the robust unscented Kalman filter withsingle measurement noise scale factor, the standard extended Kalman filter and the unscented Kalman filter are alsoimplemented under the same simulation conditions.

This article examines the values of the humanistic approach to the Arts Integration program for the elderly based on Storytelling. In this age that acknowledges the life span of 100 years, ‘becoming elderly successfully’ and ‘being elderly creatively’ are key words for addressing many problems of the quality of life. ‘Becoming elderly successfully’ can be realized through physical, cognitive and emotional health as well as active social involvement. ‘Being elderly creatively’ can be achieved through practicing self-initiative and self-organization. The characteristics of the Arts Integration based Storytelling are ‘keeping existing’ and ‘peculiarity’ that make an individual more confident. At the same time, ‘meaningfulness’ and ‘communicativeness’ that can make one reorganize his or her life are important qualities in the Arts Integration based on Storytelling. The Arts Integration program for the elderly based on Storytelling pursues the artistic lives in which various artistic experiences meet lives with personal stories. In this process, the artistic experiences lead lives to changes and make individuals more able to redesign their lives. Such design of the lives for the elderly has significances as follows. First, it makes one’s existence being present through the narrative of life. Second, it makes one achieve life with self-initiative. Third, it makes one find his or her own ways to express peculiarity. Fourth, it realizes creative aging in which life and arts are combined. The Arts Integration program for the elderly based on Storytelling can offer a new solution for the physical, psychological, sociological problems of the elderly. With its new point of view and various artistic experiences for the problems of the elderly, the Arts Integration program for the elderly based on Storytelling can make the elderly reborn as existences with newly developed aesthetic sensibility.
Lifestyle-dependent brain change: a longitudinal cohort MRI study
Kim, Regina EY.,Yun, Chang-Ho,Thomas, Robert J.,Oh, Jang-Hoon,Johnson, Hans J.,Kim, Soriul,Lee, Seungku,Seo, Hyung Suk,Shin, Chol Elsevier 2018 Neurobiology of aging Vol.69 No.-
<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We investigated both independent and interconnected effects of 3 lifestyle factors on brain volume, measuring yearly changes using large-scale longitudinal magnetic resonance imaging, in middle-aged to older adults. We measured brain volumes in a cohort (<I>n</I> = 984, 49–79 years) from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study group, using baseline and follow-up estimates after 4 years. In our analysis, the accelerated brain atrophy in normal aging was observed across regions (e.g., brain tissue: -0.098 ± 0.01 mL/y, <I>p</I> < 0.001). An independent lifestyle-specific trend of brain atrophy across time was also evident in men, where smoking (<I>p</I> = 0.012) and physical activity (<I>p</I> = 0.014) showed the strongest association with the atrophy rate. Linear regression analysis of the interconnected effect revealed that brain atrophy is mitigated by intense physical activity in smoking males. Lifestyle factors did not show any significant effect on brain volume in women. These results provide important information regarding lifestyle factors that affect brain aging in mid-to-late adulthood. Our findings may aid in the identification of preventive measures against dementia.</P>
