Ganesh, Mani,Hemalatha, Pushparaj,Peng, Mei Mei,Vinodh, Rajangam,Sakthimanigandan, Kalaimani,Jang, Hyun Tae Asian Journal of Chemistry 2014 Asian Journal of Chemistry Vol.26 No.2

New ion pair colorimetric method has been developed for the estimation of dronedrone in bulk and in tablet formulation using methyl orange dye as an ion paring complexant using pH 4 buffer. The developed method h validated for its sensitivity and specificity. The intensity of ion pair complex Of dronedrone and methyl orange found linear over the range of 2-20 mu g mL(-1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9958. The inter and intraday precision, ace-tiny, stability LOD, LOQ placebo interference, robustness and ruggedness Were evaluated during validation The % RSD found for the recovery of the method resulted with low value of about 0.72-0.99 and with good precision. From the results obtained the developed method was found suit:able and comparable in terms of estimating dronedrone in formulation With that of existing methods.

Abstract

A new type of mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN) was synthesized in fluoride media via sol–gel technique using TritonX 100 and Tween-20. The surface area and pore volume of the MSN particles were modified by varying the concentration of Tween-20. The prepared MSN nanoparticles with large surface area and pore volume (T-2, T-3) were selected to accommodate the model drug duloxetine hydrochloride (DX) for evaluation of their drug-loading and release abilities. Calcined and DX loaded nanoparticles were characterized by Brunauer–Emmett–Teller technique (BET), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric (TG) analysis and UV-diffuse reflectance (UV-DRS). In vitro release studies proved that the particle displays an initial burst release followed by sustained release for up to 140h. From the studies it is evident that the synthesized particle may be useful as a carrier for sustained release of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Solvent free synthesis of coumarin derivative by the use of AlSBA-1 molecular sieves
Mei Mei Peng,장현태,Pushparaj Hemalatha,Mani Ganesh,Muthiahpillai Palanichamy 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.3
AlSBA-1 molecular sieves were synthesized successfully and used for the synthesis of coumarins throughPechmann condensation. The synthesized AlSBA-1 catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, SEM, FTIR,TGA techniques. The synthesized materials possess large surface area with mesopores. Pechmanncondensation of 3-methoxyphenol and ethyl acetoacetate was carried out under solvent free conditionand 7-methoxy-4-methylcoumarin was the main product. The selectivity of the product was found to be74.04%. Among the synthesized catalysts, AlSBA-1(2) showed high activity than others due to highdensity of acid sites. Hence, AlSBA-1 molecular sieves a better choice of catalyst for the synthesis ofcoumarins.

Novel silver nanoparticles-decorated chitosan (CS)-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composite electrospunnanofibers, loaded with sulfanilamide for enhanced wound healing have been developed. Herein, formicacid was used as a reducing agent to produce in situ colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in thecomposite polymeric solution with the active agent sulfanilamide. The prepared electrospun fiberswere characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM),X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet spectroscopy, and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG). Further, in vitrorelease, antimicrobial properties and in vivo wound healing activity were evaluated. The results revealedthat the composite fibers displayed a synergistic antibacterial and wound healing activities.
