The complex problem of determining the partition coefficient of the guanidine hydrochloride in aqueoustwo-phase systems has been less studied. For this reason, an artificial neural network was developed topredict the partition coefficients of guanidine hydrochloride in poly (ethylene glycol) 4000/phosphate/guanidine hydrochloride/water system. The neural model (topology and internal structure) wasdetermined using a neuro-evolutionary technique based on differential evolution algorithm, designed indifferent variants. This model was able to predict the guanidine hydrochloride concentrations in eachphase with a mean relative error of 1.4%, which closely matched the experimental data.

The current study employed response surface methodology (RSM) with a face-centered central composite design (CCD) to indicate the essential variables on the partition coefficient of guanidine hydrochloride (GuHCl) in the poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG)-phosphate aqueous two-phase system (ATPS). To evaluate the partition coefficients of GuHCl in the mentioned ATPS, the pH (7.0, 8.5 and 10.0), GuHCl concentration (1.0, 3.5 and 6.0% w/w), PEG molecular weight (2,000, 4,000 and 6,000 gmol−1) and PEG/potassium phosphate concentrations ratio were selected as independent variables. A quadratic model is suggested to find the impact of these variables. The suggested model has a strong harmony with the experimental data. The results of the model display that the GuHCl concentration and weight percent of the salt in feed have a large and small influence on the GuHCl partitioning.

The new experimental data of liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) of aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) consisting of poly(ethylene glycol) 3000 + tri-potassium citrate at different pH were presented. It was found that an increase in pH resulted in the expansion of the two-phase region. The TLL and STL increased with increasing the pH values. The Merchuk equation can be appropriately employed to correlate the binodal curves and also the tie-line compositions were adjusted to both the Othmer-Tobias and Bancroft equations. In order to calculate the compositions of the phase and the ends of the tie-lines, density and refractive indices as two physical properties were used. Finally, the extended UNIQUAC, UNIFAC, Virial-(Mobalegholeslam & Bakhshi) and modified UNIQUAC-FV were used to measure the phase equilibria at different pH. The results of the models suggested that it can be used quite well to correlate the LLE in an aqueous solution of polymer-salt.

This paper is focused on finding an optimal strategy for enhancing the consensus on negotiations over the legal status and regime problems of the Caspian Sea, which has caused a lot of abortive strives since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The strategic planning process begins with finding a set of major closed sea that has similar geographical features alike Caspian Sea. Then based on expert ideas and background review, it generates a series of fundamental criteria that have influenced the closed sea delimitation. Through a committee of practical experts with diversified professional backgrounds, these criteria were evaluated and classified into internal strengths and weaknesses of the alternative closed sea, as well as external opportunities and threats to them. The Delphi technique also was used to establish expert consensus on key strategies that are important for delimitating the Caspian Sea. In the next section, the decision makers (DMs) determined the factors weight based on the vast amount of information concerning the closed sea delimitation conditions. Then these factors have been weighted based on the Caspian Sea coastal countries' conditions. Finally, this paper assesses the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat (SWOT) of these criteria, and develops an optimal strategic plan for the Caspian Sea delimitation that can enhance the consensus on Caspian Sea legal regime in future negotiations.

Liquid-liquid equilibrium data for poly vinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) K30+K2HPO4+H2O system were measured at 298.15 K and different pH values (7.54, 8.05, and 9.47). A binodal curve was fitted to the Merchuk equation and the tie line compositions were fitted to both the Othmer-Tobias and Bancroft equations. The refractive indices and densities of several homogeneous binary and ternary solutions used for calibration were also measured within a range of 0-30 mass% of PVP and 0-50 mass% of K2HPO4. Then, the viscosities, densities, electrical conductivities, and refractive indices of binary (PVP K30+water; potassium phosphate+water) and ternary (PVP K30+potassium phosphate+ water) systems were measured and correlated at different pH values. The density data showed a linear variation of the polymer and salt mass fractions. The viscosity data of PVP K30 solutions were correlated as a function of the mass fractions by using a nonlinear equation. The effects of the tie line lengths on the densities and viscosities of the aqueous two-phase systems were represented. Also, the modified UNIFAC-NRF is used to calculate the phase equilibria of the mention system. The fitted binary interaction parameters of the model were reported.
