      • Research on Peak-detection Algorithm for High-precision Demodulation System of Fiber Bragg Grating

        In order to improve the detection accuracy of wavelength, the filtering and curve fitting technologies were applied in the FBG wavelength demodulation system based on tunable F-P filter. These methods could realize the accurate peak-location of output signals of the photo detector. According to the characteristics of noise, the FIR low-pass filter was designed to filter the obtained light power signals so as to provide the input signals with high SNR for the peak-detection algorithms. By analyzing and comparing several typical peak-searching algorithms, the algorithm of Gauss formula nonlinear curve fitting (L-M) was chosen to fit the digitized light power signals. The experimental results show that L-M fitting algorithm reduces the mean square error by 7.5% compared with the Gauss fitting algorithm. For the Gauss signal in the wavelength demodulation system designed in the paper, the L-M algorithm has lower mean square error than other peak-searching algorithms. This algorithm is suitable for FBG wavelength demodulation system based on tunable F-P filter. It can efficiently raise the accuracy of wavelength demodulation system.

        A Unified Framework for Joint Mobility Prediction and Object Profiling of Drones in UAV Networks

        In recent years, using a network of autonomous and cooperativeunmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) without command andcommunication from the ground station has become more imperative,particularly in search-and-rescue operations, disaster management,and other applications where human intervention is limited. In such scenarios, UAVs can make more efficient decisions ifthey acquire more information about the mobility, sensing and actuationcapabilities of their neighbor nodes. In this study, we developan unsupervised online learning algorithm for joint mobilityprediction and object profiling of UAVs, to facilitate control andcommunication protocols. The proposed method not only predictsthe future locations of the surrounding flying objects, but also classifiesthem into different groups with similar levels of maneuverability(e.g., rotatory and fixed-wing UAVs) without prior knowledgeregarding these classes. This method is flexible in admittingnew object types with unknown mobility profiles, and is therebyapplicable to emerging flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs) with heterogeneous nodes.

        Enhancing Tensile Properties of Wire-Arc Additively Manufactured Ti-6Al-4 V Deposits Via Cryogenic Vaporised Ar Shielding/Cooling

        The high-entropy alloy particles reinforced 6061Al composite was prepared by cold spray (CS) and then modified by frictionstir processing (FSP). The microstructure evolutions, corrosion, and wear behaviors of the composites were investigated. Results showed that numerous micro-pores and cracks were distributed in the Al matrix due to adiabatic shear instability andinsufficient deformation of the deposited particles for CSed samples. The average size of uniformly distributed HEA particleswas ~ 24 μm, and the geometric necessary dislocation (GND) density reached 17.1 × 1015m−2 due to large plastic deformationduring CS. Comparatively, the micro-pores and cracks were eliminated, and many fragmented HEA particles dispersed inthe Al matrix with an average size of ~ 4 μm for FSPed sample. Note that the GND density reduced to 9.8 × 1015m−2 due todynamic recrystallization during FSP. The formation rate of the oxide film was gradually greater than that of the dissolutionrate with the samples immersion in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution from 12 to 36 h, and the main corrosion mechanism was particledissolution around micro-pores and pitting for CSed and FSPed samples, respectively. In the polarization process, the FSPedsamples exhibited low corrosion tendency and high corrosion rate due to the dense and uniform microstructure, low GNDdensity, and dispersed HEA particles. The FSPed samples had better wear resistance than the CSed samples at 25 °C and200 °C. The dominant wear mechanisms of CSed and FSPed samples were abrasion at 25 °C, while the wear mechanismsof these samples were adhesion accompanied by abrasion at 200 °C.

        LTS Semantics Model of Event-B Synchronization Control Flow Design Patterns

        The Event-B design pattern is an excellent way to quickly develop a formal model of the system. Researchers have proposed a number of Event-B design patterns, but they all lack formal behavior semantics. This makes the analysis, verification, and simulation of the behavior of the Event-B model very difficult, especially for the control-intensive systems. In this paper, we propose a novel method to transform the Event-B synchronous control flow design pattern into the labeled transition system (LTS) behavior model. Then we map the design pattern instantiation process of Event-B to the instantiation process of LTS model and get the LTS behavior semantic model of Event-B model of a multi-level complex control system. Finally, we verify the linear temporal logic behavior properties of the LTS model. The experimental results show that the analysis and simulation of system behavior become easier and the verification of the behavior properties of the system become convenient after the Event-B model is converted to the LTS model.

        Rubrofusarin-6-β-gentiobioside inhibits lipid accumulation and weight gain by regulating AMPK/mTOR signaling

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>Although rubrofusarin-6-β-gentiobioside (RFG), which is a component of <I>Cassiae tora</I> seed, could likely regulate hyperlipidemia, its anti-obesity effect and related mechanism have not been elucidated.</P> <P><B>Purpose</B></P> <P>The aim of this study was to examine whether RFG can ameliorate obesity and the mechanism of lipid accumulation regulated by RFG.</P> <P><B>Study design</B></P> <P>In <I>in vitro</I> experiments, we confirmed the anti-adipogenic effect of RFG using 3T3-L1 cells and human adipose mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSCs). To confirm the anti-obesity effect, High-Fat Diet (HFD)-induced obese mice were selected as a model.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>We investigated anti-adipogenic effects of RFG using MTS assay, Oil Red O Staining, real-time RT-PCR, western blot analysis, and immunofluorescence staining. The anti-obesity effect of RFG was confirmed in HFD-induced mice model using hematoxylin and eosin staining and serum analysis.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>RFG inhibited lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 cells and hAMSCs by reducing expression of mammalian targets of rapamycin (mTOR), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)γ, and CCAAT-enhancer binding protein (C/EBP)α. RFG phosphorylated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in a liver kinase B (LKB) 1-independent manner. Moreover, the anti-adipogenic effect of RFG was blocked by AMPK inhibitor. These results suggest that RFG inhibits lipid accumulation via AMPK signaling. Furthermore, RFG reduced the body weight, size of epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT), and fatty liver in the mice. RFG also suppressed levels of adipogenic factors PPARγ, C/EBPα, FAS, LPL, and aP2) by activating AMPK in the eWAT and liver.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>RFG can ameliorate obesity, and thus, could be used as a therapeutic agent for treating obesity.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

        한국 문화상품의 국제경쟁력에 관한 연구 - 중국에서 한류소비의 행태를 중심으로

        본 연구는 한국 문화산업의 글로벌경쟁력 강화를 위한 방안을 모색함에 있어서 중국 소비자들의 소비행태를 고찰하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한·중 문화상품의 교역현황을 살펴보고 중국에서 한류문화의 소비행태와 중국정부가 취하고 있는 한류문화에 대해 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 한국 문화상품의 경쟁력의 현주소를 SWOT분석을 도출하였다. 이와 더불어 중국에서 한류소비 증대에 따라 발생되는 문제점과 그 원인, 소비의 활성화 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 한류소비를 확대하기 위해 중국 한류소비 시장의 문제점을 살펴보고 한국기업이 문화산업에 진출할 때에 따르는 문제점과 유의해야 할 점을 시사점으로 제시하였다. Korean Wave and Korean products, emerging in the world spotlight, are leading the world trend to import and advertise them. After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea in 1992, enormous amounts of Korean culture and products have been flooding into China’s market. Not only movies, entertainment programs, music and games are major export products but publications, animations, concerts are actively exported to China. China’s cultural market has been hit greatly with the successful enter of Korean cultural industry. However, the Korean Wave has also been met with backlash in Chinese market. This research systematically analyzed the classification of consumption patterns of Korean Wave in Korean cultural industry, suggested the development direction for enhancing its competitiveness and the alternatives for cultural export stimulation. For this purpose, this research referenced the books, thesis, articles and news related with the trade of cultural products between Korea and China, analyzed the statistical data of Korea International Trade Association concerning the consumption patterns of Korean Wave in China and the current situations of cultural products trade.

        Comparative study of homogeneous nucleation rate models for wet steam condensing flows

        To accurately describe the homogeneous nucleation process in a wet-steam dual-phase flow and to improve the reliability of computations of the condensing steam flow, classical homogeneous nucleation theories were derived and summarized based on the molecular agglomerate thermodynamic free energies. To obtain more accurate homogeneous nucleation rates, various modified homogeneous nucleation rate models were described. Experimental data were used in a comparative study of these models to select a nucleation rate model to provide calculated values for engineering projects. This study indicates that the main difference between different nucleation theories lies in the difference in the influence of temperature on the nucleation rate.

      • Object Recognition System of Sonar Image Based on Multiple Invariant Moments and BP Neural Network

        Object Recognition System of Sonar Image plays an important role in the field of underwater defense According to pattern recognition theory, principle processes of a typical object recognition system is introduced . To achieve robust performance, image de-noising, sharpening, binary transformation, edge detection and other image processing techniques are discussed . The paper presents a novel object recognition system using multiple invariant moments as the main feature of the object, and the detected feature is trained by BP neural network so that the classification error can be minizied. Finally, we implemented the proposed approach by visual air plane recognition, the experimental results demonstrates the robustness and efficiency of the presented approach.
