본 연구는 LNT 항목의 분석을 통해서 산행 목적과 산행윤리의식 사이의 차이를 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해서, 내장산국립공원의 백양사지구와 남창지구를 사례로 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 통해 국립공원 방문목적에 따라서 윤리 의식이 유의한 차이가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 다시 말하면, 산행목적의 탐방객이 행락 목적의 탐방객보다 윤리 의식이 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다. This study was performed to identify the difference between purpose and ethics consciousness of national park visit through analysis of LNT(Leave No Trace) items. For this, case study was performed in the Baekyangsa and Namchang district in Naejang national park. Study methods were questionnaire and statistic analyses. Through these, the difference of Ethics Consciousness of national park visit according to visit purpose of one was identified. In other words, it was identified that visitors for climbing purpose had higher than those for pleasure-making in Ethics Consciousness of National Park Visit.

Bronchogenic cyst can be found about everywhere in the mediastinum and rarely in the abdomen. Embriologically, the bronchogenic cyst, one of the primitive foregut-derived developmental anomalies, is composed of any or all of the tissue elements seen in a bronchus including respiratory epithelium, smooth muscle, mixed serous and mucose glands and cartilage. Most bronchogenic cysts are asymptomatic. The diagnosis is therefore made either as an incidental finding or, more usually is secondary to other organic complications such as infection, hemorrhage, compression of adjacent organs. Only a few of subdiaphragmatic bronchogenic cyst have been reported and their occurrence in the retroperitonum is extremely rare. We present a case of retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst presenting as adrenal tumor which was successfully treated by laparoscopic resection. (Korean J Endocrine Surg 2001;1:122-124)

<P>The purpose of this study was to develop <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-labeled trastuzumab with improved pharmacokinetics for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). <B>Methods:</B> Trastuzumab was conjugated with SCN-Bn-NOTA and radiolabeled with <SUP>64</SUP>Cu. Serum stability and immunoreactivity of <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab were tested. Small-animal PET imaging and biodistribution studies were performed in a HER2-positive breast cancer xenograft model (BT-474). The internal dosimetry for experimental animals was determined using the image-based approach with the Monte Carlo N-particle code. <B>Results:</B> <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab was prepared with high radiolabeling yield and radiochemical purity (>98%) and showed high stability in serum and good immunoreactivity. Uptake of <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab was highest at 48 h after injection as determined by PET imaging and biodistribution results in BT-474 tumors. The blood radioactivity concentrations of <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab decreased biexponentially with time in both mice with and mice without BT-474 tumor xenografts. The calculated absorbed dose of <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab was 0.048 mGy/MBq for the heart, 0.079 mGy/MBq for the liver, and 0.047 mGy/MBq for the spleen. <B>Conclusion:</B> <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab was effectively targeted to the HER2-expressing tumor in vitro and in vivo, and it exhibited a relatively low absorbed dose due to a short residence time. Therefore, <SUP>64</SUP>Cu-NOTA-trastuzumab could be applied to select the right patients and right timing for HER2 therapy, to monitor the treatment response after HER2-targeted therapy, and to detect distal or metastatic spread.</P>

Purpose: Ultrasound is most effective study for evaluating thyroid nodules. In this review, we discuss that sonographic findings to differentiate benign from malignant nodules and suggest recommendations for indications of fine needle aspiration biopsy and thyroid nodule management. Methods: Sonographic scans of 206 thyroid nodules in 164 patients were candidated for this study. We evaluated sonographic findings by shape, calcification, margin, and echogenicity, retrospectively. Sonographic findings that suggested malignancy included microcalcifications, a speculated margin, marked hypoechogenicity and a shape that was taller than wide. The final diagnosis of lesion as benign (n=180) or malignant (n=26) was confirmed by fine needle aspiration biopsy and follow-up (>6 months). We demonstrated the difference of the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy. Results: Of 206 thyroid nodules, 26 were malignant. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy based on our sonographic classification method were 84.6%, 73.9%, 31.9%, 97.0% and 75.2%. Conclusion: Sonography can be helpful for making the differentiation between and malignant nodules. So, when well trained surgeon find thyroid nodules on sonography, we can make correct diagnosis of malignant nodules. (Korean J Endocrine Surg 2010;10:224-228)

Purpose: The Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway is important in embryonic development including cell differentiation and proliferation. Recently, activation of this pathway has been implicated in several forms of solid cancers. We investigated sonic hedgehog (Shh) protein expression and its relation to differentiation and clinicopathologic characteristics in thyroid cancer cell lines and tissues. Methods: We used five thyroid cancer cell lines: TPC-1, FTC-133, FTC-236, FTC-238, and XTC-1. We made tissue microarray slides using 80 thyroid surgical specimen: 40 benign and 40 malignant lesions. Immunohistochemical staining was performed using anti-Shh antibody. mRNA expression of NIS, thyroglobulin, and CD97 were evaluated by RT-PCR. Cyclopamine was used as a Shh signal inhibitor. Results: Shh expression was more prominent in TPC-1, FTC-133, and XTC-1 cell lines than the others. Cyclopamine downregulated CD97 and upregulated thyroglobulin mRNA expression, but did not induce mRNA expression of NIS. Thyroid tissues showed varied expression of Shh in both benign and malignant diseases. Shh expression was detected in 38 of 50 (76%) normal, in 18 of 25 (72%) non-neoplastic benign, in nine of 15 (60%) benign tumors, and in 31 of 40 (77%) malignant tumors. Shh over-expression was significantly less frequent in papillary thyroid carcinomas than in normal or benign thyroid tissues. In addition, Shh protein expression did not relate to clinicopathologic characteristics in papillary thyroid carcinomas. Conclusion: Thyroid tissues and cell lines vary in expression of Shh. Cyclopamine can induce redifferentiation in thyroid cancer cell lines. Shh protein expression, however, is unrelated to clinicopathologic characteristics in papillary thyroid carcinomas. <P> The characteristics of Na<SUP>+</SUP>-dependent cycloleucine uptake was investigated in OK cells with regard to substrate specificity and regulation by protein kinase C (PKC). Inhibition studies with different synthetic and natural amino acids showed a broad spectrum affinity to neutral amino acids regardless of their different side chains including branched or aromatic, indicating that the Na<SUP>+</SUP>-dependent cycloleucine uptake in OK cells is mediated by System B<SUP>o</SUP> or System B<SUP>o</SUP>-like transporter rather than the classical System A or ASC. Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and phorbol 12,13-dibutyrate, but not 4α-PMA elicited a time-dependent biphasic stimulation of Na<SUP>+</SUP>-dependent cycloleucine uptake, which produced early transient peak at 30 min and late sustained peak at 180min. Both the early and late stimulations by PMA were due to an increase in Vmax and not due to a change in Km. PKC inhibitors blocked both the early and late stimulation by PMA, while protein synthesis inhibitors blocked the late stimulation only. These results suggest the existence and regulation by PKC of System B<SUP>o</SUP> or System B<SUP>o</SUP>-like broad spectrum transport system for neutral amino acids in OK cells.

<P>In this study, we showed the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety can switch critically the rate of the reverse intersystem crossing (<I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>) process, which is the trigger point to modulate the lifetime of delayed fluorescence. To achieve <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB>, what we desired (10<SUP>5</SUP> to 10<SUP>6</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) in a series of donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) type thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials, the donor groups (phenoxazine and phenothiazine) were selectively introduced. Maintaining the near orthogonality between donor and acceptor (benzonitrile) moiety, the occurrence of the distortion of the central axis of the donor moiety could make the effect of locally excited triplet state (<SUP>3</SUP>LE). In other words, the interaction between <SUP>3</SUP>LE and the charge transfer counterparts (i.e., <SUP>1</SUP>CT and <SUP>3</SUP>CT) contributes an opposite propensity of <I>k</I><SUB>RISC</SUB> for each of the target TADF materials when those are dissolved in solution and condensed in solid state. Herein, we have theoretically and experimentally shown the photophysical behavior of common D-A-D type TADF upon the different systems.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Management of soil water and fertilization is known to primarily affect physiological properties and yield in plant. The effect of soil water potential and nitrogen application on characteristics of photosynthesis and chlorophyll fluorescence in Schisandra chinensis Baillon was investigated on a sandy loam soil. Net photosyntheis rate and transpiration rate increased as a photon flux density and was highest at –50kPa of soil water potential. Light compensation point (1.5 μmol m<SUP>-1</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) and dark respiration (0.13 μmol CO₂ m<SUP>-1</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) was lowest at -50 kPa but maximum photosynthesis rate (13.10μmol CO₂ m<SUP>-1</SUP>s<SUP>-1</SUP>) and net apparent quantum yield(0.083 μmol CO₂ m<SUP>-1</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>) was highest at -50 kPa. As results of chlorophyll fluorescence by OJIP analysis, maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of photosystem II (PSII) and PIabs was higher in treatments of –50 kPa and -60 kPa respectively, which reflects the relative reduction state of PSII. But the relative activities per reaction center such as ABS/RC and DIo/RC were low with decreasing soil water potential. Net photosyntheis rate and transpiration rate were highest at treatment of soil testing 1.0 times (92 kg ha<SUP>-1</SUP>). Application of nitrogen resulted in high Fv/Fm, PIabs and low ABS/RC, DIo/RC. This result implies that -50 kPa of soil water potential and nitrogen fertilizer may improve the efficiency of photosynthesis through controlling a photosystem in Schisandra chinensis Baillon.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We synthesized nanoporous CO-selective adsorbent composed of CuCl supported on bayerite. Before supporting the CuCl, the bayerite chemical was calcined at 623 K to increase the surface area to 469 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>. The CuCl was highly dispersed on the activated bayerite via a thermal monolayer dispersion process. The highest CO adsorption capacity was achieved at an optimal temperature of 573 K and CuCl content of 30 wt%. Thus synthesized adsorbent exhibited a high CO adsorption capacity of 48.5 cm<SUP>3</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP> at 293 K, but a very low CO<SUB>2</SUB> adsorption capacity (2.89 cm<SUP>3</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>), resulting in CO/CO<SUB>2</SUB> separation factor of 16.8. When the CuCl content increased to 36 wt%, the adsorbent exhibited much higher separation factor (35.5), although the CO adsorption capacity was somewhat smaller (41.6 cm<SUP>3</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>). The CO adsorption capacity and CO/CO<SUB>2</SUB> selectivity of this adsorbent are larger than those of our previous CuCl/boehmite adsorbent showing CO adsorption of 34 cm<SUP>3</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP> and a CO/CO<SUB>2</SUB> separation factor of 12.4. The present adsorbent also shows very high selectivity for CO over H<SUB>2</SUB>, N<SUB>2</SUB>, and CH<SUB>4</SUB>. Therefore, this adsorbent is expected to show excellent CO separation performance for various industrial processes such as steam-reforming and steel-making which involve CO, CO<SUB>2</SUB>, H<SUB>2</SUB>, N<SUB>2</SUB>, and CH<SUB>4</SUB>.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Highly selective CO adsorbent based on CuCl/bayerite composite was synthesized. </LI> <LI> Adsorbent exhibited very high CO/CO<SUB>2</SUB> selectivity. </LI> <LI> High separation ability is attributed to the large surface area of bayerite. </LI> <LI> Thermal treatment conditions for dispersion of CuCl on bayerite were optimized. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
