The automatic frequency control method using the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT AFC) has an intelligent characteristic of $quot;observation and control according to frequency error$quot;, which makes it possible to achieve both fast initial acquisition and accurate tracking. Furthermore, it can make the irreducible frequency error arbitrarily small. This paper discusses the frequency acquisition performance of the DWT AFC using three different mother wavelets; the modified Haar, modified [1,3,3,1] and Gabor functions.

This paper investigates three-dimensional (3D) radio radiation suppression performance of adaptive array antenna (AAA) when horizontal direction information of radio suppression is only available for the directivity controlling. In the investigation, 3D directivity characteristic of such antenna directivity is analyzed using an antenna directivity control technique that has been proposed by the authors. Also, a typical indoor propagation characteristic is modeled using the ray-tracing method. Then with the analyzed antenna directivity and the indoor propagation model, the radio radiation suppression performance of the AAA in the vertical direction is demonstrated by computer simulations. With the simulation results the authors confirmed that although the radio radiation suppression performance degrades in the vertical direction, it still shows sufficient suppression performance in the indoor wireless communication environments.

The Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation scheme is modified to improve the error performance of partial response signal(PRS) in Tamed FM(TFM). DFE(Decision Feedback Equalization) with adaptive 10-symbol Delayed LMS and TDA (Trellis Detection Algorithm) using Viterbi decoding are proposed for the performance enhancement of decision-directed adaptive equalization in the coded modulation, and its BER upper bound is obtained from the Bernoulli trial.
