An economic procedure of selective assembly is proposed when a product is composed of two mating components The major quality characteristic of the clearance between the two components The components are divided into several classes prior to assembly The component characteristics are assumed to be independently and normally distributed with equal variance The procedure is designed so that the proportions of both components in their corresponding classes are the sane A cost model is developed based on a quadratic loss function and methods of obtaining the optimal class limits as well as the optimal number of classes are provided Formulas for obtaining the proportion of rejection and unavailability of mating components are also provided The proposed model is compared with the equal width and equal area partitioning methods using a numerical example

This study is concerned with the transmission method of architectural meanings on the basis of semiotics. Architectural meanings changed by various causes during their transmitting through the communication channel shown in fig 3 are arrived at user's brain in various situations of receiving information. For perceiving those relationships further more in details it is necessary to analysis following items. 1. Architectural signs: Index, Icon, Iconic symbol, Irrelative symbol. 2. Causes of meaning change: Signal, Social, Historical, Psychological, Foreign, Creative cause. 3. Contents of architectural meaning: Referential, Informative, Expressive, Aesthetical, Intentional content. 4. Situations of receiving information: Direct, Creative, Intentionaly metaphorical, Extentional, Metaphorical, Paradoxical, Reductive situation. We can find out that above several elements are ordered in architecture according to human needs.

본 사례는 국내 APT 건설 현장에서 수행된 식스시그마 프로젝트에 대한 것으로 페콘크리트 발생 저감 및 잔량발생에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자들을 파악하고 개선안을 도출하는 과정을 보였다. 프로젝트는 식스시그마의 방법론을 따라 정의, 측정, 분석, 개선, 관리의 절차에 따라 주요 변수를 규명하고 개선안을 찾아내는 식으로 진행되었다. 분석결과 페콘크리트 발생을 줄이기 위해서는 첫째, 거푸집 시공 및 타설 프로세스를 개선하고 둘째, 압송관 및 펌프카 내 잔여 레미콘을 최소한으로 감소시키며 셋째, 최종적으로 남은 레미콘을 재활용할 수 있도록 하는 세가지로 요약되었다.

The purpose of this study is to make use of these materials for the next housing plan and to put emphasis on post occupancy evaluation. For this study, the apartments occupied are chosen and the degree of satisfaction with residence is examined, in real occupants' respect. As the objects, the apartments built by the Korean National Housing Corporation in 3 apartment sites of Taegu in 1979, 1983, 1985 is selected. The apartment size is restricted to 17 pyung. SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) is used as an analysis method and the degree of satisfaction is divided into 5 grade using Likert measurement to give objectivity. After the analysis, the degree of satisfaction with each apartment is compared and analyzed through Duncan's Multiple Test. The results are as follows. 1. In the satisfaction with each room, the degree of bathroom, kichen and dining room, balcony, entrance showed meaning difference. 2. Many factors out of evaluation factors showed meaning difference partly of room 1, room 2, room 3, kichen and dining room, bathroom utility room and boiler room, balcony in the degree of satisfaction with each apartment. 3. The improved factors, the factors which need to improve, the factors to which the occupants adapted themselves among evaluation factors are classified on the basis of standard satisfaction.

This paper aims to suggest indices for which we can understand process and types of variation in Palladian motives as well as chronological consideration on the origins of those. Besides, it studied on the respective origins of Palladian motives that is composed of characteristic elements. It is highly possible that Palladian motive already appeared in Italia, B.C.1^st Cent. And, it is thought that Renaissance origins presumably started from S.Lorenzo by Brunelleschi. As the result of investigation, the origins of functional features is devided into three-function: a central axis, a spatial screen, a single window. And, origins of morphological features are devided into the use of order, the change of pillar's type, the introduction of decorative elements.

The purpose of this paper is to interpret social motives of Contemporary Korean architecture. Sociological interpretation of architecture have need to study coditions of politics, economics, society at that time. Theory of the SIM(Sociological interpretation Model) is found on 'Sociology of knowledge'. The SIM is consisted of three steps as follows; 1) To inquire into dominant ideology in the society. 2) To inquire into structure of society due to ideology. 3) To inquire into interrelation between architecture and structure of society. Contemporary Korean architecture is interpreted through the SIM as follows; 1) Historical style was influenced by Nationalism ideology. 2) Authoritarian style was influenced by Centralism ideology. 3) Modernistic style was influenced by Growthism ideology.

This thesis aims at studying one of the ways which grasps exactly environmental qualities. For this purpose, this paper examines the cognitive dimensions of environmental identity which is the identity that a person or group has with his environment, in particular when he is experiencing it as an insider. There are two important dimensions: the vertical dimension and the horizontal dimension. The vertical dimension is classified by the degree of relationship between the observer and the environment. The horizontal dimension is classified by the scale of the environment concerned with its users.
